could you post all the lyrics to this song as a separate comment please?
Ļeņina doma
Iekurs ugunskuru tavās krūtīs,
Pāri visām šaubām pārliks tiltu,
Ļeņina doma,
Doma silta,
Lai tu vienmēr - lielu ceļu jūtīs,
Lai tu vienmēr - lielu ceļu jūtīs.
Viņa doma kļuvusi par mūsu,
Katrā pukstā, katrā darbā pielās,
Ļeņina doma,
Doma liela,
Dvēselei un dzīvei noberž rūsu,
Dvēselei un dzīvei noberž rūsu.
Spīdzināta, mesta moku bedrēs,
Tā nekad uz ceļiem nenoslīga -
Ļeņina doma, vīrišķīga,
Nemirstīga doma mūžam nedreb,
Nemirstīga doma mūžam nedreb.
Ļeņina doma, vīrišķīga,
Nemirstīga doma mūžam nedreb,
Nemirstīga doma mūžam nedreb.
Gadi pašķiras un gadsimteņi,
Doma važas sarāvusi, brīva,
Ļeņina doma,
Doma dzīva,
Zvaigžņu ceļos aizvada to Ļeņins,
Zvaigžņu ceļos aizvada to Ļeņins.
I have no idea what the lyrics mean, but it sounds beautiful...
Does someone have an english translation?
Lenin's thought
[It] Will light up a bonfire in your chest,
Will set the bridge over all doubts,
Lenin's thought,
Warm thought,
So you always strive for great paths,
So you always strive for great paths.
His thought has become ours,
[It] Drops into every [heart]beat, into every work,
Lenin's thought,
Great thought,
Rubs the rust off of the soul and life,
Rubs the rust off of the soul and life.
Tortured, thrown into pits of torment,
It never fell on its knees -
Lenin's thought, manly [thought],
An immortal thought never trembles,
An immortal thought never trembles.
Lenin's thought, manly [thought],
An immortal thought never trembles,
An immortal thought never trembles.
Years fade away and centuries,
Thought torn the chains, free,
Lenin's thought,
A living thought,
In path of stars it is led by Lenin.
Slavu Latvije !
It means Lenin’s home not though
google translate says what it means "Lenin's idea"
*shrug*
It would mean "Lenin's home" or something like that as you would think, if Latvian were a Slavic language.
It isn't. It's a Baltic language, so no surprise that the word "doma" here doesn't mean "home".
@@bismajoyosumarto1237 in many Slavic languages there is a word "dumati", what means "to think", and "duma" is "thought"
"Dom" is also usually "a house", which is also "domus" in Latin

Oh I see, thank you very much for your information. Nice to know that there is still a related similar sounding word despite the Slavic word "doma" having an entirely different meaning than Slavic "duma" which is related to Baltic "doma"
