2023 National Western Junior Livestock Auction

The auction is the final marketplace for ribbon-winning steers, lambs, hogs and goats that were raised by junior exhibitors, 4-H and FFA youngsters ranging in age from 9 to 18.
Of the thousands of junior market animals that compete at the National Western Stock Show each year, only 96 qualify for the Auction of Junior Livestock Champions.

These kids are super hero’s! The months of searching for the right calf, feeding, walking, grooming at all hours of day & night. Show kids don’t have a Summer like öther” kids. They would rather be friends with their show animals then people anyway. Seeing their friends at this stock show that share the EXACT type of show life IS THEIR LIFE. It’s in their blood and it will never be taken away! Love them for what they do and how it ends up IS NEVER EASY on them. Even if it were a million dollars, their commitment to their animals is deeper than any friendship with people. It’s their life to make them perfect by working SO DAMN hard to get here. Day in and day out. Tears will be shed tonight, tomorrow and for weeks following. The memories will fade, but the love for these animals can never be taken away. Soon, they will be hunting far and wide for another furry baby to call their friend and on it goes. Thank you Show Kids and family for doing the hard work. Those of us that have been there and done that admire you and pray for you to land softly knowing you “done good,….no GREAT!”
