I can now easily imagine how you will rush something or in any other way that caused confuse and reflexively will want to change the control to those in confuse and thus get killed (old_players_skill _issue)
The other day, I had an idea to possibly bring back veterans to this game: DECA hosting/sponsoring old UA-cam faces (like you, Bickuribox12, and others) to do new content tutorials, feature/content/item showcases, dungeon walkthroughs, maybe in-depth analyses and others. I want to know how you, one of the content creators who would probably do this, would feel about this.
I was reading the patch notes in vc with my friends and I legit just screamed out loud upon seeing it. I am so fucking down for things like blind, confuse, and hallucinating to become specific boss mechanics instead of just annoying things you have to struggle with clearing random dungeons. Darza's dominion already has something like that, a boss which has a phase where in you become confused and you have to slowly navigate around it. Super fun and challenging, and I hope deca does something similar in realm
so true! like how MV has each boss have their own status motif or energy storm permanently slows! Imagine a phase with low shot density, but you are permenantly darkened and slowed and you have to find a randomly spawning safe zone or something
Yeah, it's to cover their asses. Confused as a status effect is intended to be completely gone game-wide with any instances of it remaining unintentional. I assume that it'll be sprinkled in tastefully from now on as a mechanic within boss phases as opposed to an occasional hassle.
confuse was fine on flash, because it didnt change your movement if u were already holding a direction, it only changed after you moved a different way. it was fine and reactable. on exalt it fucking sucks.
For years now I’ve had this idea in the back of my mind to try and get as many statuses applied to me at the same time in rotmg so the removal of confuse kinda sucks for me in that regard lol
I would've rather they get rid of 'Quiet' The fact it does the same thing as 'Silence' but also drains all your MP feels overkill. At least you could learn the controls for 'Confuse' Honorable mentions: 'Daze' is also another really annoying status, but mainly only for solo ice cave runs. Then there's 'Sick' which is the main status effect that prevents me from being able to do content like O3
Hey, where did you go? I need like six videos a day on fax information and statistics. You are clearly the best for rotmg but so far and few in between :(
Learning to avoid and reacting to impactful status effects was a big part of the game. And there really wasn't much to do in this game in the first place, but what was there was interesting. Now they're removing the very base gamedesign? They already shelved and phased out most of the other impactful status effects. This is not a good good trend
Confuse, darkness and blind being gone from the game is like a gift from God. That shite made the game absolute hell. I honestly never enjoyed it. Especially not in the lategame dungeons. There's already so much to keep track of, having to confuse control or become legally blind just destroys the experience. Since coming back like 5 days ago I'm having a much more of a blast with that triforce of pain and agony gone.
This is a massive W. Most of the mentioned debuffs are just incredibly annoying and don't contribute meaningfully towards any of the endgame difficulty. It's a good shift for the game to finally go away from the old design towards a more modern raiding design with actual mechanics and meaningful projectile patterns. Combining the Rogue-like and bullet hell genre, and maintaining some MMORPG aspects in the process. OG Realm was extremely wacky, inconsistent, and the skill cap was very low for whatever little you could control as a player, hence the eventual addition of the ever so controversial amulets.
How does removing impactful debuffs like confuse, quiet and armorbreak not decrease the difficulty of endgame dungeons? Your vision of the future sounds like wishful thinking, deca is NOT cooking
@@sdfggdfg5fgdfg I don't know about armour break, I didn't see on that on the list, same for quiet. But confuse, blind, darkness, etc. are not really used in endgame dungeons during any important boss phase, and they haven't been for a long time. Blind is extremely stupid because depending on the brightness of your screen and amount of sunlight, you may be incapable of seeing anything. It's not a skill check, it's a hardware/eyesight check. Same thing for all the other debuffs. They serve no purpose in the game. They're not skill checks, they're just meaningless nuisances that don't contribute towards the fight design. Look at any serious MMORPG and its raid mechanics. They're always based on correct positioning and understanding of some complex mechanical requirements that need to be satisfied by the party. Those old debuffs are not meaningful in endgame raiding content. They don't feel good, and dodging them doesn't feel good either. They should have been gone a long time ago, when O3 was released, at the very least, but possibly already with Shatters, or even all the way back with LoD.
I basically live on the feedback threads and forums for realm, I can tell you with certanty that no one was expecting this becuase no one was actually complaining lmfao. Seems like it was a higher level decision outside of complaints to remove it as a consistent mechanic in game. Confuse still does exist in game! just a lot less common atm
Yay! I cant wait for deca to remove every original and unique feature! I cant wait for realm to be even more boring and easy! Remove wizard next fuck it!
I guess it's time to make my own wildshadow, I shoulda learned back when Kabam took over. The fact fun game mechanics keep being shelved for weird ass things only serves to keep souring the game into stupid conduit for idiots to gamble in it. Tired of it.
Bruh I wish, I haven't even made it to patience in a regular shatts since the change (granted I've probably attempted maybe 6 total since it was added lmfao)
U know ive invested way to much time learning cunfuse controls and how long each cunfuse lasts. So i alwyas could subconsciously ignore it all together.... Fml lol
Removing these status effects is such an L move just because they can't stop cheaters from being immune to them. they're trying to remove the advantage that cheaters have but instead they're just removing the challenge from players that actually enjoy the difficulty.
Every time deca updates rotmg it strays further and further away from the original charm that brought players like me into it, and as a result i want to play it less and less as time goes on. I understand wanting to make the game appealing to the new younger audience they have but I'm not a fan of all these core features being constantly removed or altered in some way, it doesnt even feel like rotmg to me anymore. I think they should make an alternate server where you can play the original rotmg with one of many flashplayer clones, or at least one of the older versions of rotmg before the unity version.
This is such a bad change imo and the game will definetely feel way different with this. I think learning confuse controls is an essential learning checkpoint for every realm player. This is vital for rushing and surviving labs, manors and SPECIALLY Oryx2.
It'll feel a little different, absolutely. But confuse as a mechanic at least these days is rarely if ever implemented in new content. So it's largely the antiquated content that will have a vibe change. I couldn't care less that it's gone personally haha
idk they're just removing the game. Lab and manor are basically confuse specific dungeons, and some of the endgame bosses had confuse shots, they're just gutting the game of difficulty and charm
So, after i did 150 kogbolds so i could exalt them first and not have to worry about it for a while, they made it take not even half the time to exalt? Fucking hell bro
IMO the removal of confuse really hurts the game in a major way. It was one of if not the only debuff that meant anything, and whether you learned the shots that applied it and avoided them, or positioned and rotated in such a way that the debuff wouldnt instakill, it added complexity and skill to a game that desperately needs as much depth as possible. The game already struggles to create a challenge for end game players, and removal of confuse just dumbs down rotmg.
Most MMOs I've played get caught in a destructive spiral that goes something like this: 1. The game is new and unknown, with simple systems. Players enjoy the heck out of it, and a constant stream of players flows into it. 2. Players master the systems, and a vocal minority who has plays in unhealthy doses grows bored and demands more complexity. 3. The systems continue to grow more and more complex as the insatiable vocal minority continues to clamor for more and more challenge. 4. The flow of incoming players slows as the complexity skews further and further towards the preferences of a narrower set of players. 5. The community begins to regard new players with disdain. Casual players are deemed "tourists" for not wanting to dedicate their recreational time to studying and practicing a video game as if it were a college entrance exam. 6. The game is no longer about fun. It's about presitge and gatekeeping. Exploration and experimentation is replaced with work and efficiency. 7. The influx of new players dwindles to a trickle because the game's complexity is simply too overwhelming for most normal people. Even long-time veterans decide they've had enough and go elsewhere to find a video game that still feels like a video game as opposed to a job. 8. The remaining players are left scratching their heads wondering why no one is playing a game that, in their opinion, only gets better and better.
the same thing happened to stun and quiet, being phased out with unstable and silence. there are only two impactful debuffs left in the game and they hardly use them, people whine whenever they're involved and they often get removed from new content

what the hell did i spend 12 years learning confuse control for ;-;
Those of us who can do confuse controls subconsciously are going to be extinct soon enough!
I can now easily imagine how you will rush something or in any other way that caused confuse and reflexively will want to change the control to those in confuse and thus get killed (old_players_skill _issue)
it blows my mind everytime that i still remember confuse controls even after i take long ass breaks from the game
Learn something else then
Real and relatable

@@RotmgGHZDsorry for this being late, but that sounds pretty cool that they’re doing that
Removing confuse from towers in madlab is kinda stupid
Overall, i think it's a good change, but madlab is kinda gonna be boring now
@@GaryBigtoes It already kinda is...
After some 10 to 11 years of not knowing confuse controls and only learning it somewhat properly earlier this year, I'm pretty alright with this
Can not wait for the day I rush and subconsciously confuse control myself into my characters death we all know its going to happen.
It'll for sure happen to the best of us hahah

Knowing that the kogbold was reworked when my 8/8 summoner died yesterday night hurts even more
Rip my “knows confuse controls” superiority
I literally farmed 70+ Manors last week to get the entire ST vampire set and now they add the event -.-
The end of an era
Nice to see you back doing RotMG content. Maybe I'll come back to the game again too sometime soon
Keep uploading pls, there isnt much other ROTMG representation out there! Maybe make some 2024 guides?
Rushing Manors will never be the same.
Changing kogs to be shorter is amazing, adding the extra exalt chance on top is just insane. Now hopefully they’ll add extra exalt chance to cults 😅
It’s over pack your bags… What’s the point of playing if I can’t mog people with my confuse controls….
god, seeing you post feels so good again man, made me get back into rotmg
confuse was fine on flash, because it didnt change your movement if u were already holding a direction, it only changed after you moved a different way. it was fine and reactable. on exalt it fucking sucks.
It was like that on exalt, you just have to be pressing 2 directions at once and then let go of one as soon as you get confused
just when I thought DECA couldn't make another change to pull me back in...
i got confused in a heroic undead lair recently
the weirdest thing about the event is that they said the 6 dungeons will have a chest event for 2 weeks but none of them do
I can confirm there is still confused in The Mashine.
For years now I’ve had this idea in the back of my mind to try and get as many statuses applied to me at the same time in rotmg so the removal of confuse kinda sucks for me in that regard lol
The memories i got back I haven’t play the game since they cancelled ut trade wonder if i can open my account
I can safely say that this update is surely Confusing
i am confused
ghzd huge fan thanks for the new upload!!!!!!!!!
The sand tornadoes still confuse XD
i like how confuse is no longer in the game, but why did they have to replace hallucination?
The old realm tornado still has confuse
gee now the game is even more accessible to those wanting to mindlessly grind exalts in discords
Honestly, it's a good change, in my opinion. Especially considering many players were cheating those effects away already.
THANK THE LORD JESUS IM SO GLAD CONFUSE WILL NO LONGER HAUNT ME
