Thanks for doing this. Hate to see it but it's important to know what's going on. Looks like most of the swans and geese were gone today. Not sure whether that's good or bad. It's not good for them to be all bunched up like they were, but on the other hand it's not good for them to be spreading whatever is killing them around the landscape.
Possible, but not likely. The outbreak is across the state and includes other areas. The officials are attributing this to avian influenza. I do see the green stools that might also suggest cholera. Whatever it is, the outcome is sad.
@MrNikonshooter I live near Sheridan Wyoming. I've seen one large flock of Canadian geese migrating, that's it. We have no snow cover and I don't think the wheat fields in Montana are covered yet. So either the migration is held up in the wheat or there's no birds. Exceptionally warm weather too.
@@MrNikonshooter I don't know, I lost my old lab two years ago and gave up waterfowl hunting. However, I live on the river and very few geese, local geese but no migrating flights, come to think of it,,,no huge flocks of sandhills either,,,,,?
@@MrNikonshooteryes and no here in Washington it’s been so warm the birds aren’t moving like they normally are i personally haven’t seen any sick birds yet
Thanks for taking your time to show and acknowledge the public as much as it hurts!
Thanks for taking the video and sharing Kip. I appreciate the education to take along with the video.
I checked the open water/ice at Split Rock and saw nothing of concern.
Thank you for doing this and the updates so sad 😢

Possibly tainted grain in a feeding area on their migration route?

@timarndt6342 - Interesting. Are others not seeing expected birds?

It’s the drones.
So sad
So hard to see that young swan. 🥲 Thanks for the update, though, Kip.
