This is the best gear channel on youtube the real. Practical. In depth. Gear channel. It deserves more than it gets. The real ones know. Thanks for all that you do. Remember to have good fun. Thats the point of it all in the end.
Casio is great for fucking around and just genuinely enjoying playing music. If you get a Casio with the mindset of it actually being insanely good or whatever you’re going to be disappointed. But if you’re like me, a person who just likes having fun then you’ll most likely enjoy playing a Casio keyboard. That being said, this keyboard definitely sounds pretty cool
SPANISH: Soy de Chile, y este teclado es un icono en este país, es un teclado muy usado por grupos musicales del género de Cumbia, es un muy buen teclado. Buen vídeo ;)
This is the video I wanted! I have one of these and it's an awesome synth! The A2 Wavetable system was next level, and has some of the coolest unique sounds I've heard from a Wavetable Romplr. The only downside? The WK-1800 is LOUD It will clip ANYTHING. Even powerful 24 bit recording can be clipped by it (set your recording volume to about 60-80% and it should be fine.) The WK-1800 is very loud though. It doesn't really have a "quiet" setting. It has "thin" and "loud af" But that Square Wave, Excellent. Thickest Saws ever too.
Id like to see all of the styles from these old CASIO keyboard up through to the CASIO keyboards of today created with 3 intros 3 endings 4 fill ins 4 variations for korg pa keyboards and Yamaha keyboards.
I have this one with a floppy drive. The power jack was broken so I installed a PSU directly to the motherboard so now the Casio has a dangling power brick but it works!
Great review . I made a huge mistake when someone sold me one for $25 about 8 years ago . Then sold it for $75 . Now they go for upward of $250 here in the states !
That seems a surprisingly effective and versatile little synth engine in that, less clunky and seems to cover a greater range of sounds than one would expect, is it the ZPI system or a variation on that do you know?
My guess is that it's the generation immediately before ZPI. From what I can tell, the ZPI keyboards in the the WK range are the 3000 series, but I'm just guessing and so I'll defer to G-Man on this!

I agree, the *fun* is indeed the whole point. Thanks for your supportive comment it’s greatly appreciated. Feel free to share me on social media ;)

I am indeed a person like you - it’s essential to remember that the musical experience should be fun! People get way too heavy about it .
I disagree, I have a wk-500 that is insanely good

@@gearfacts btw I have a recording of it playing the entire YS midi collection, let me grab you the link.
@@unyu-cyberstorm64 Yeah I'd be interested to hear it!
@@gearfacts Yeah it's pinned in my channel, but I will get the link too.
@@gearfacts ua-cam.com/video/x6XlwebPK_A/v-deo.html there, the full soundtrack. Recorded from real hardware :)
Some of the older keyboards are more interesting than the new ones .Especially in the synth department .
I agree, they provide quick and simple fun without being uptight about the whole thing. :-)
The last Casio keyboard in which some of the rhythms have crash cymbal in every 4 bars

Resourceful solution, well done :) 👍

Wow really? I guess they might have distributed more of them here in Australia, you’d be lucky to get $200 (about 140 US)
After 25 years I still have mine the only problem is a crazy screen 😢 ..
Of all types of machines out there, keyboards are the most reliable and enduring!
Great episode. That little remote box looks interesting. What is it?
That's my trusty Roland PMA-5, an all-time keeper :) ua-cam.com/video/O5FBv1dm1n0/v-deo.html

No, this is the A2 sound source, the same as CTK-731 and LK-50

Yeah, good, fun. What's to complain about?
Yup 👍
I've found a used one for 120€. I think it is good.
Good price :)
I had one and I’m sorry I let it slip through my hands !
Aww! you skipped the square waves!
I did? That’s weird. Usually the square waves as the first thing I go for!
@@gearfacts I think, it’s 080. I think you’ll find it interesting.
Ooooooo0 ma che cosa è quella scatola col pennino?? dove la trovo.
It’s a Roland PMA-5. Difficult to learn but really worth it :) search for “Gearfacts PMA-5”
Is there a sustain effect without pedal?
Yes
ridiculous ....sound
That's the way I like it :)
