When my mother was dying from cancer and suffering terribly physically and mentally with uncontrollable symptoms she said to me that she’s surely done her purgatory here on earth, and now I truly understand what she meant.

      Saturday, July 6, 2024:
Jesus said: “My people, you are seeing the tearing of the curtain in two in the Temple as a sign of the splitting of the Old Testament into the New Testament. With My supreme sacrifice on the cross and at every Mass, there is no need for the sacrifice of animals. I broke the darkness of evil with My Light. You will see another darkness on the day of My Warning, but I will bring forth My Light to dispel the darkness. I want My people to be prepared for the major events of this year. Have your refuges ready as you will soon see the coming tribulation when My refuges will be your safe havens from all of the evil ones and their weapons. You have the best weapons for your defense in My Blessed Mother’s rosary and My very Body and Blood in My Blessed Sacrament that will be worshiped at every refuge at the proper time.”
Jesus said: “My people, I know My people are suffering on earth from your human condition. Some people are suffering persecution for their faith in Me. Others are suffering from chronic pain, but the worst suffering are those people who are in mortal sin because they cannot appreciate My love. The souls in purgatory are also suffering not having My love nor My Presence. You, My faithful, are fortunate because you receive Me into your souls when you receive Me in Holy Communion, and when you experience My love in My Real Presence in My consecrated Host in Adoration. You love Me and experience My being with you throughout the day, especially in My tabernacle. Pray for the people to come to know Me in My Real Presence, and pray for the poor souls in purgatory.”

It’s funny that you mentioned about St. Faustina. A family friend, who is a Carmelite cloistered nun, sent a Divine Mercy book to me in 1998. When I read the part about the souls in purgatory, I became excruciatingly frightened that I asked God to permit me to spend purgatory while I’m still here on earth. This was the first time I heard the term, Dark Night of the Soul. I heard it from the same Carmelite cloistered nun who gave me the Divine Mercy book.
To this day (2024), it’s still painfully difficult for me to articulate the experience.
My unsolicited advice is this: make sure that you have an intimate relationship with God The Father, God The Son, & God The Holy Spirit BEFORE you ask God to grant you to experience purgatory here on earth. And, ALWAYS ask Mother Mary to cover & protect you with her mantle of maternal protection.

Please investigate Low Dose Naltrexone 4.5mg or less. It needs a compounding pharmacist.
The AMA discourages it saying it hurts the liver and in my case and in general that is not true. It cures so many auto immune diseases big pharm hates it. It has cured Hashimoto's disease and reumatoid arthritis in me. For Hashimoto's I started getting energy back in 3 days. It took 2 months to cure.
For reumatoid arthritis; the hip pain was gone in 3 weeks and it was cured in 2 months. Also have seen people with cancer get results since it resets the immune system. Big Pharma hates it. Sorry to say they are not in business to cure people.
Pray for the souls in purgatory.

I do not seek purgatorial experiences; they have come to me throughout my life, and I offer them up as they come for the Holy Souls, the Blessed Mother’s intentions or specific intentions. The progressive pain and loss of the past 20 years seems unbearable at this point; yet things can always be worse, so I try to be mindful and thankful of the positive aspects of my life: having all five senses, a roof over my head, adequate income, hot showers, air conditioning, and most of all the ability to serve and praise the Lord….I believe that’s what He wants to hear from us.

I’ve felt some type of purgatory as well not sure if it counts. But it felt like a trial. Mostly through demonic oppression. It has changed the way I think and the way I speak. (I would speak without really thinking and saying absolute nonsense, also I would struggle with pornography) God allowed it not only to draw me close but to experience the pain I was causing others. With that being said best thing you can do is reparation and praying for the souls of purgatory. Chaplet of Saint Gertrude is a great start.

Same here!! I’ve often wondered if Opression can be a form of Purgatory on Earth. I’ve been aware of this for about 3 1/2 yrs. My archdiocesan exorcist priest’s aid told me it takes about two years to go away with receiving the sacraments of Penance and Eucharist often and prayers I say multiple rosaries daily. Usually say at least 2 or 3 and it’s not at all easy. Praying aloud (even whispering) the Holy Rosary, keeps the attacks AWAY temporarily. Suffering with All types of “Sensory” issues if you know what I mean. It’s much less now and I’m forever grateful to Our Lord for allowing me the knowledge that I was in deep trouble spiritually. Praise Jesus. 😭🙏❤️‍🩹

I had that dark night of the soul in 2020 for a few months. I went through spiritual trials. I had doubts in my faith. I had to go through it. For the good of my faith.

  • @allanweilert7185
    @allanweilert7185 21 день тому +5

Alvaro, it sounds to me like both you and your friend experienced “a dark night of the senses” as opposed to the dark night of the soul, which according to St John of the Cross is more protracted and much more intense.
During novitiate(I’m a former Friar)I received this grace-a loss of faith, dryness, and sudden inability to hear the Lord’s Voice. Thanks to my wise spiritual director, I emerged from this torment by following his counsel to be faithful in prayer.
One day, after several months of dryness I heard the Lord ask me, “ Are you ready?” I was shocked and replied, “Ready for what?” The Lord continued,”Ready to rely on Me and not the consolations that I send?”
It took me awhile to respond, since if I said “Yes” I could possibly spend the rest of my life never feeling His sweet presence. But if I said, “No” I would be saying I was only interested in the “sugar” (as you put it).
When I “Yes,” all the consolations I had been accustomed to returned, but I no longer cling to them. It’s OK with me if they come and go.

    • @allanweilert7185
      @allanweilert7185 21 день тому +4

I meant to add that my experience in Novitiate was a dark night of the senses. I know all about physical challenges after being paralyzed myself and on a respirator five months, four more months in rehab, and two years in a wheelchair.
May God bless you and your family, Alvaro, and all those brave enough to read my posts! 😊

I am not courageous enough to ask for this! But I do a daily offering to God the Father, Our Lady and St. Joseph. I do remember one time when I was 18, seeing so many of my peers just simply not coming to church any more, I felt a deep sadness, and felt I too, should quit going, but an image of me being a bulldog and hanging on anyway came to me, and I decided I will have that sort of resolve, like a bulldog, and hang on to the hem of Jesus' robe. I did this for a year. To my surprise, at the end of this, my brother, who is 5 years older than me, came back to the church. I was all like "yay! it's because of my sacrifice, what a surprise!" I found out later, he met a woman who was Catholic, and she was the one who made him return. Lol. Well, that's my life.
Another time, when I was in my 30s, I remember moving to this place, so cut off from my family and friends, I had an image come to mind of me setting foot into a desert. That lasted a long time. I had no spiritual consolations. In fact, after many decades, I eventually fell away from the church, and it was due to sadness again, of being cut off....not just spiritually, but from my family...it was odd. Like being forgotten...already dead to everyone. But that image in my mind of setting foot into a desert wouldn't leave me.

Do not ask for purgatory unless your heart is sincerely desiring to help someone in need and you ask our Lord for the suffering of purgatory for a short while. But otherwise on a whim do not ask. Be humble and delight in the Lord always. When sufferings come offer it up to the Lord. He is our loving Father in Heaven.

Thank you, Álvaro, for sharing your beautiful testimony. I did see a short about your accident and I remember thinking how brave and how blessed you were and you are.
I also know that the writer of “Get us out of here” went through a lot of suffering because he wanted to help the Souls in Purgatory.
I had a freaky accident 😢 the same day I had told the Lord (in prayer) with all my heart that I, too, wanted to help the souls in Purgatory.
As long as we keep praying our Rosary 📿 and keep trusting the Lord, we will be guided by The Holy Spirit in everything, even in our own prayer.
Lord Jesus, lead me to holiness, lead me to You; give me the strength to endure what Your Perfect Will has prepared for me; forgive all my sins and give me courage to never deviate from The Way, The Truth, The Life.

It is like suffocating in some black fire, but the holy greed makes me happy and spiritually comforted in this state as I am sure I am not wasting my time. In the 'our Father' prayer, Jesus taught us to ask the Father to 'Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil'. Therefore, I will not ask for purgatory on earth. Rather, I trust in Jesus and His saving Grace and Cross, and I offer Jesus to the eternal Father as my saviour, especially when I will apear before Him for judgment.
Today's Mass reading was on the 10 virgins waiting for the bridegroom. I choose to be like the 5 wise virgins with extra oil of prayers (frequent confessions, Masses, communions, daily Rosary, St. Bridget prayer) and good works. And though my efforts are but filty rags, I trust Jesus' grace is sufficient for me and for all. Amen.
Finally, I am satisfied with the daily trials the Lord permits to come to me. With the Lords help and grace, I pray I can bear them all with patience and without complaining... this way I carry my cross after the Lord here on earth which is purgatory on earth.

If you don't mind,I think everyone can reduce their time in purgatory right here by simply writing down all their sons(especially mortal sins already confessed) and start doing some penance to satisfy divine justice. One can choose to fast or abstain from something they like or love for periods of time. I like the Judith formula where you do Monday to Saturday then take a break on Sunday. Our Lord told st Getrude you can your purgatory here with pennies. It's that simple. Just try not to repeat the sins again.
There's also lent. Take the opportunity. Purgatory is simply satisfying divine justice

I too have bone from a dead person. It’s so odd to think about isn’t it. It’s like the closest relationship with a stranger. I’m still not sure how to explain it.

Understanding the concept of purgatory is critical - purging is necessary if we are the ones so full of of that which is not of God.

So, what is Purgatory? First of all, Purgatory is not a kind of temporary hell; it is the very threshold of Heaven. The Catholic Church is defined in three parts.
    1. The pilgrim Church on earth, where we the people are on a pilgrimage towards Heaven
    2. The Church suffering, or the place of purgation
    3. The Church triumphant, where those in Heaven behold the beatific vision.
So why is there a place of purgation, and why is it often described as a place of suffering? Surely Jesus took away our debt on the cross. He paid the final price; so why does purgatory exist? The Father’s Justice must be satisfied, otherwise God is not Just
Let us remember that Purgatory is a dogma of faith, so if we don't believe it, that doesn't mean that purgatory wont exist anymore. What is a dogma in the Catholic Church? A dogma of the Catholic Church is defined as "a truth revealed by God, which the magisterium of the Church declared as binding."
Catechism 1030 - “All who die in God's grace and friendship, but still imperfectly purified, are indeed assured of their eternal salvation; but after death they undergo purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven”
    _________________________________________________________________________________
Let’s discuss arguments about Purgatory - The good thief argument
For anyone who is interested to know about the "good thief". As 1 Corinthians chapter 4 verse 5 says "For that reason, do not judge anything before the due time, until the Lord comes; he will bring to light everything that is hidden in darkness and reveal the designs of all hearts. Then everyone will receive from God the appropriate commendation." God is the only one capable of knowing who was saved or condemned, especially to know the intentions with which each person did or did not do each thing in their lives. Therefore, It is impossible to know whether or not the “good thief” went “straight to heaven” or had to undergo Purgatory. We cannot really judge that. It could be that he died in a state of perfect contrition for his sins and received the baptism of desire.
The Greek manuscripts that contain this passage Luke 23:43 do not contain punctuation. So did Jesus say to him: “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise” OR “Truly, I say to you today, you will be with me in paradise.” Punctuation makes a big difference!
Another point to consider is that “paradise” does not mean "heaven". The term paradise refers to the abode of the dead for the righteous, the bosom of Abraham. In which case the gates of heaven would not have been opened yet until the resurrection, so they would have been together in the abode of the righteous and the good thief still could have undergone some purification before receiving the Beatific Vision. Peter tells us that, after his death, Jesus “went and preached to the spirits in prison” (1 Peter chapter 3 verse 19). The Catechism explains: “In his human soul united to his divine person, the dead Christ went down to the realm of the dead. He opened heaven’s gates for the just who had gone before him” (Catechism 637). So, Jesus went to the abode of the blessed to share the gospel with them and to open the gates of heaven for them. It is there that Jesus said he would be with Dismas that day. Thus, purification could be done before Dismas entered into the beatific vision.
Do we find examples in the bible?
“If anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw; each man’s work will become manifest; for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work which any man has built on the foundations survives, he will receive a reward. If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire”. 1 Corinthians 3:12-16
The foundation here is Christ, and the works being tested is our lives, both spiritual and material. We now see the concept of being tested by Fire introduced in this bible passage. The ‘Day’ being referenced here is the day of judgement when all will be subject to the Light and to Truth, which is Christ. In the presence of Truth, all will be revealed.
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (wages being the return you will get in exchange for sins committed)
Revelation 21:27 - Nothing unclean can enter the heavenly Jerusalem
Matthew 5:48: “You, therefore, must be perfect as your heavenly Father is perfect.” That's because of Principle #2 - nothing unclean will get into Heaven
For anyone who is interested to know where Purgatory is mentioned in the bible. Purgatory interpret passages such as 2 Maccabees chapter 12 verses 41- 46, 2 Timothy chapter 1 verse 18, Matthew chapter 12 verse 32, Luke chapter 16 verse 19- chapter 16 verse 26, Luke chapter 23 verse 43, Hebrews chapter 12 verse 29. "Nothing unclean may come into it: no one who does what is loathsome or false, but only those who are listed in the Lamb's book of life." - Revelation chapter 21 verse 27. In Matthew chapter 5 verses 24-25, Jesus is even more explicit about Purgatory. “Make friends quickly with your accuser, while you are going with him to court, lest your accuser hand you over to the judge, and the judge to the guard, and you be put in prison; truly I say to you, you will never get out till you have paid the last penny.” 1 Corinthians chapter 3 verses 11-15 may well be the most straightforward text in all of Sacred Scripture when it comes to Purgatory: “For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any one builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble-each man’s work will become manifest; for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work which any man has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire".
So, what do the Saints have to say about Purgatory?
Saint Francis de Sales - “To assist the Souls in Purgatory is to perform the most excellent works of mercy”
Saint Padre Pio said, “We must empty Purgatory with our prayers”. In his suffering, Padre Pio had a special devotion to the souls in purgatory. Early in his priesthood, he wrote to his spiritual director, ““For some time I have felt the need to offer myself to the Lord as a victim for poor sinners and for souls in purgatory. This desire has grown continuously in my heart, until now it has become a powerful passion. I made this offering to the Lord, imploring Him to lay on me the punishments that are prepared for sinners and for souls in purgatory, even multiplying them upon me a hundredfold as long as He converts and saves sinners and quickly releases the souls in purgatory.” Padre Pio mentioned many cases of meeting deceased souls that were suffering in purgatory, including deceased Friars and Pietro Di Mauro, who came to Padre Pio looking for a Mass to be said for his soul.
Maria Simma (Mystic) said that no soul would want to come back from Purgatory to earth. They have knowledge which is infinitely beyond ours.
St. Catherine of Genoa “For the souls in purgatory there is great joy as well as pain as they know for certain they are bound for heaven”
St. John Vianney “I come to tell you that they suffer in Purgatory, that they weep, and that they demand with urgent cries the help of your prayers and your good works
St. Nicholas of Tolentino - During his life, Nicholas is said to have received visions, including images of Purgatory, which friends ascribed to his lengthy fasts. According to a story, one of his deceased friends appeared to him asking for prayers. Prayer for the souls in Purgatory was the outstanding characteristic of his spirituality. Because of this Nicholas was proclaimed patron of the souls in Purgatory, in 1884 by Leo XIII. The Catholic Church formally defined the doctrine of purgatory during Nicholas’ lifetime, at the Second Council of Lyon in 1274.
Do we find any instance of praying for the dead in the OLD Testament?
2 Maccabees 12:44-45 “For if he were not expecting that those that had fallen would rise again, it would have been superfluous and foolish to pray for the dead. But if he was looking to the splendid reward that is laid up for those who fall asleep in Godliness, it was a holy and pious thought. Therefore, he made atonement for the dead that they might be delivered from their sin”
Other sources for Purgatory: Church tradition, The Elders, The council of Trent
Do the Holy Souls need our prayers? Yes, the holy souls need our prayers -and at the same time, they can be powerful intercessors for us. The Catechism (958) says that “our prayer for them is capable not only of helping them, but also of making their intercession for us effective.” When we pray for them, it makes them able to pray for us.
And finally, a commentary on purgatory by Dr Peter Kreeft (professor of philosophy at Boston College and The King's College. A convert to Roman Catholicism, he is the author of over eighty books on Christian philosophy, theology, and apologetics)
“If you really think that you can endure and enjoy the full light and fire of God a second after you die, being essentially the same kind of being you are now, without any additional divine operation on your soul, then you dangerously underestimate either your sinful nature or God’s holiness, or the gap between them”
