Another amazing performance. A western musician like me might think the rabab would sound like a fretless guitar, but it doesn't. Rabab sort of reminds me of the Chinese guqin because it's a fretless instrument with a soft tone. The guqin is of course much quieter but the sounds aren't far apart. I've never even heard of a zarb before so this was a real treat!
I purchased a good Rababfor playing while in Peshawar Pakistan, Loved the instrument the first time I heard it being played in my Hotel Lobby. Bravo ALL what a soulful performance! Thank God for internet! Thanks
Pontos is a place in today northern Turkey, at the shores of the Black Sea, next to Armenia and Georgia. It used to be a Greek Territory , during the ancient and medieval years. A part of the Eastern Roman Empire. So Pontic is the people, the music etc... that come from there..

What is the sound comes from back? I mean the background-sound. Sounds like sitar but is not and it's not rabab. I apologize for my poor english.
The sitar sound is a combination of parasympathic strings on the rabab( thoes pegs under Efren beard) and the equal constant sound of Stelios liraki.
tambur kemençe ve darbuka
Esa no es Darbuka, su nombre es Tomback.
Sorry but what is pontic tunes, what means "pontic", in fact?
Pontos is a place in today northern Turkey, at the shores of the Black Sea, next to Armenia and Georgia. It used to be a Greek Territory , during the ancient and medieval years. A part of the Eastern Roman Empire. So Pontic is the people, the music etc... that come from there..
Quelle économie de mouvements inutiles dans le jeu de Efren, pas ces chichis qu'on voit trop souvent chez les guitaristes flamenco et autres...
