So... what do you guys think about Episode 2? Overall I'd say it was a pretty good step forward for the series. Also yes, I know Saberspark beat me to it, it won't happen again
The jokes aren't the strong point of the series and the pacing is a little weird, but I still enjoyed it and I do wonder what the other episodes could have for us, but I definitely quite enjoy it. Still miss internecion cube though, that was a banger!
It seems very artificial with its character interaction and personalities, which can be its best and worst feature at times. It’s a very ambitious way to make a series but somehow it works.
I definitely liked it, sure it is tropey and not all jokes work for me, but that is not a problem. I am definitely invested in the story, and I appreciate unusual setting.
The reason the murder drones feel far less hype in this one is simple, their kill mode is completely absent from ep 2. Missed opportunity to sell off how feral N can get during his attack on J's totally-not-beast-equivalent. Speaking of I personally liked the fact it went down fast, because it doesn't undermine the Murder Drones as the superior threat. It is an ambush predator attempting to reconstruct its original host, so if it was STRONGER than the host why bother with both ambush and reconstruction to begin with? The fact that N just... Left seems to be intentional. Throughout the episode he's been acting weird after Thad mentioned "crawling". That + how chill V is with him + the fact that realistically if he hadn't gone traitor he should be HELPING it implies STUFF. A LOT OF STUFF. Khan actually gets VERY interesting. From the pilot, after a ton of analysis, one could tell he wasn't "incompetent". Closing the door was the objectively best choice for the colony according to his knowledge at the time. There were also signs that he was losing the drive to keep on going with the door-mania but was being pressured by the rest of the workers and that 1 peculiar poster referring to "beating someone to death" NOW we know that he probably knows of absolute solver infections since his wife had it and passed it on to their kid. Which is why he gets so upset when issues with Uzi's programming are mentioned. AAND the community pressure for the doors is flat out confirmed suspiciously blatantly. I do hope the series slowly transitions from "what did the company do to these drones and why did they send them to kill us all" to "What horrors did the copper-9 workers with newfound ultimate freedom do back then?" with Khan trying his best to keep everyone away from that 2nd one. It'd make for a very interesting plot after the vampire stuff is mostly revealed and a potentially very scary one if whatever the workers made or turned into manages to one-up the company's killers in killing.
I will say that before watching the pilot, the trailer made me think that N was gonna trick Uzi into letting him into the bunker before betraying her and killing everyone. I was actually a little disappointed that it never happened since it seemed like a cool idea. If it ended up happening later in the season, though, THAT would be sick. Also, yes to everything else and thanks for the comment!
I also thought it was weird she never tried shooting Uzi even though her hands were still free... but yeah, I'm actually interested to see how that'll play out
i actually thinks it make sense that the absolute solver monster seemed weak, it relys on tricking others to put them in vulnerable situations rather than beating them in combat and if it was strong in combat then N who is sappoused to be "useless and terrible" (accourding to the other murder drones) might would have needed some of Uzi's plot armor just to survive and to be fair, it wasn't killed in combat, they just got out of the gun's blast zone while it didn't (not arguing tho, i have been waiting for this video)
Very true, although I'd personally argue that N's a better fighter than he gets credit for (since he held his own against V singlehandedly in the pilot). Either way, fair enough about the whole "luring people in" and gun exploding thing
@@Tyromaniac yeah, N is stronger than he gets credit for but still, he isn't as good as a killing machine as the others. btw do you think the solver things behave different from murder drone to murder drone? becouse i saw some similarities between J and the sanke crab that evolved from her
Very true again. Also, I'd say yes, I think they'd all have similar personalities to their Murder Drone counterparts but more watered down and robotic. Guess we're gonna have to wait and see though...
I just wish someone would notice that the people blurred and darkened out in heart beat looks ooooodly similar to how Young Kirie from internection cube saw the adults…. Maybe just a coincidence but I kinda think the absolute solver and the origin cube might be one in the same. Taking down matter to fulfill the role of repair and fuel sounds familiar to what Icon describes she does to feed herself.
I will say I did notice the similarities with the shadowy people and the Absolute Solver, I just dont want the headache of trying to connect the Murder Drones and Internecion Cubes universes.
I don’t quite think every MD has one of those solver things within them, or if they do, they don’t have a monster inside them. My guess is the solver is less like a simple repair program and more like a manipulator behind the scenes, it has it’s own goals in mind and is using the drones to accomplish it. It may think J in particular is going to be vital to it’s plans hence why it went to such lengths to repair her by summoning that giant monster(I imagine it and J’s body are 2 separate entities). I did wanna address your complaint of the Murder Drones “not seeming as cool” as the pilot because in Ep 2 to be fair we only saw N and a little of V for the most part so I imagine we’ll get more new MD’s later on if the end of the pilot is any indication. I do kinda agree introducing the solver so early makes the MD’s seem tamer in comparison, but I do think we’re going to find out more about it later on that’ll establish it as a different kind of threat than the MD’s, a more master manipulator type than an active aggressor. Other than that I’d say this was a fair and concise video and I’m definitely looking forward to what the show has in store next time, especially since we have almost no idea what the episodes past 3 will entail(Also I just hope J makes a proper comeback she has so much potential as a character plz I want her back🙏)
I will say the reason I said that about the AbsoluteSolver is because for a split second in that scene from the pilot where J smacks N to bring his optic sensors back online, there's a string of text that says something like "AbsoluteSolver blocked" or something similar. That and the "we're too dangerous" line from the trailer is what made me think they all have one, but I could very well be wrong (like I said, the text was only there for like half a second). Also, good point about the Murder Drones and thank you!
@@Tyromaniac Yeah I would imagine the solver is something that takes many forms, the nanites inside them could be one while the heart thing and the giant monster could be other forms it takes, that and I would imagine Uzi might’ve gotten the solver from her having to put her hand in N’s mouth and getting his saliva in her wound. As for that line, since the trailer seemed to mostly show stuff from Ep 2 and Liam confirmed Ep 3 is the prom episode at the special premiere events on Nov 12&13, that line about them being too dangerous I’d imagine will be from a conversation N has with V in the beginning of the episode, where he still thinks they do have those things inside them only for them to potentially find out theres more to the solver than that and he decides to team up with Uzi again to investigate further. Thats my guess anyway.
Guess we'll just have to wait and see... and also I complete agree that Uzi shoving her fist in N's mouth definitely caused something to seep into her system

Uzi maybe didn’t trust n but she knew that she couldn’t get past the doors without him and also knew that n was more prone to getting revenge after getting betrayed
