    I have made a bunch of these. In the summer of 2007, I helped crochet a 3D model of the Great Barrier Reef in order to raise awareness about global warming. I made 20+ for that project, and then kept making them.

    Is the a way i can make it small from the beginning and make it bigger at the end but still keep the ruffles?

      Maybe you could make it smaller by using a smaller hook, and then changing to a bigger hook.

    Nice to meet you Maggie. Do you have a 'simple' pattern for the Lorenzo Manifold. Can you help me, I am not experienced however I understand the stitched are not complicated an it is a matter of keeping track of the math(stitches). Thank you in advance for any pointers or help you can provide

      Hi Katrea - Unfortunately I do not know where to get a pattern for that. I looked around online and only found articles about this but no pattern.

    Can I increase in every stich

    • @loonie209
      @loonie209 4 роки тому +6

      Yes, you could even increase more than that. It will have more ruffles faster, and the number of stitches per row will increase faster, which may or may not be what you want. I like to start in the round with 6 stitches without joining the rounds, and do 1 increase every stitch, and after a few rows I have so many ruffles it's like a pompom. If you want it to get to pompom stage even faster you could even do 3 increases every 2 stitches. Or you could make 1 increase every 8 stitches or so and end up with a cone with ruffly edges. It all depends what you want. Have fun!

      Maggie has a link in the description to her pattern in writing. See if it will help make it clearer for you. The pattern suggests going as far as 10 rows as an introduction to the concept, but you could probably keep going from there if you want to.

      Every row is worked the same: *hdc, 2hdc*
      It works with all stitches, but sc and hdc make for a smoother surface. I hope this helps!
