- During all this time since the release, New World has been slightly polished to work decently. The combat is still meh, the graphics unoptimized and the content is almost nonexistent. So, yeah, you can play it if you want to kill time and already own it, but I'd not recommend paying for both the game and DLC (paid mount) just to touch grass.

First of all great video, i am totally on the same boat with you about the game but The reason some people still plays this game is that combat system is so easy compare to gaming market, you have 2 weapon and 3 skills for each, so easy to use them, only challange is that ,game is not tab target so you actually need to land your skills or dodge enemy's skills, if the combat system would be as same as black desert online or other games, nobody would play this game after all these bugs and fails of ags team.+45 y/o old ass people plays this game anymore and they mostly does pve shit, running around , mining , fishing,etc, they are like npc in game :D..PVP is addicted because combat system so easy, i have almost 4000 hours in this game and 3500 of it is only opr(pvp map) and races(open world pvp) , after they change meta, hitting end game is like 15mins for me, but you are right, Amazon destroyed every game that they try to released, first new world then lost ark, and now people hype for LOTR from this company, sometimes i do not understand people, would you go to the same car service who fuked up your car multiple times till now?
Thanks a lot! Now I understand why the combat is so favored by some people, it's really simple but needs targeting. As for Amazon, yeah, they somehow managed to mess up all the projects they launched. And it's a shame, as New World could've been a lot more than it is now. My guess, they'll keep on just maximizing income from current fan base until they stop paying.
@@CtrlAlexDel i beleive Amazon use New world to code better,bugs free and new events and seasons just for LOTR at this point, so they can release a good stable game, i beleive New world will be end or closed when they release LOTR and who ever played new world till the end of it before they relaese LOTR , they will give away LOTR free premium or best bundles for players who never left NEW WORLD till the end of it and they can keep play LOTR with their free purchase .Just a thought .

@@Deimos866 true, but it definitely needs better sound design and animations. I really cannot call a combat mechanic not bad, if a sword sounds the same as two-handed hammer.
@@CtrlAlexDel No one really cares if the sounds are accurate for the weapons. That is the least important thing to point out about combat. Your focus on that is troublesome. The weapon animations are good enough.
The real issues with the game is the lack of content. That's really the only thing that matters. The pve is boring and the pvp has been abandon.
You mentioned Lineage 2. That game is even worse then New World with active players. That's not saying much. Both games have failed.
New World is dogshit. Always was, always will be. No matter how much time passes, or what they do, they don't even come close to a 10th of launch numbers. Why is that? Why does no one come back to New World? Because the game's fundamentals are boring. There's a reason it's a dead game and an "expansion" barely made a dent in the graph. It's a game made by simpletons, for simpletons.
And still, you can see in the comments here how people are defending it. Oh well 😑
game looks like trash the moment ive seen it years ago... looks ugly with hideous characters, crappy animation and effects, seen better combat animations in 10 year old korean mmos

The worst combat? Im pretty sure half of us still playing it do it cause the combat is actually what stands out in this game.
I understand that and still I believe that it could've been a lot better for the price that Amazon asks. There're examples of mmos that look worse and have worse crafting and social systems but better combat and I only wish New World could be better than it actually is.

Easy, as its technical flaws are obvious even at the beginning. Moreover, I don't think that the gameplay changes drastically after level 20.

Liking the combat and "good combat" are different things. I understand that people like it but it requires a lot polishing in terms of responsiveness and sound design.

The devs are trash. The pvp is trash. Rampant with bots and kids with aimbots that think they are good LOL The only good thing about it is the space you get back in your hard drive after uninstalling it
Wow, I never knew about aimbots. So gaming in 2024 is when we have aimbots even in mmos, nice
After about 14 years in WOW i liked New World combat system because tab targeting and 20+ skills to activate is very tiresome for me .i really liked it was action oriented but i believe the best action combat mmo is ESOs combat . Overall New World it was a lost opportunity and i have my hopes on Ashes of Creation but i see they have made an hybrid combat system that includes both tab targeting and action,i hope combat is not a mess in Ashes
True, it had all the potential and still Amazon delivered what it delivered. As for Ashes, I'm still skeptical about it, but I still want to see the full game and how it's going to be played 🤔
This review is horrible wtf? You complained about everything including the tutorial where it teaches you crafting. It's a tutorial. You said the combat is horrible but you just don't understand how to fight properly because you only invested 10 hours into the game and did not touch any content beyond the beginning open world quests. I cannot take this review seriously since you didn't actually dive into the game and see what it's really about, yet you felt compelled to trash talk nearly every aspect of the game.
I said combat is terrible because it's basically not responsive and sounded badly while having poor animations.
ngl saying New World's combat and graphics are bad is kinda crazy, the combat is literally the only reason people even play the game these days, the combat is simple but hard to master and really rewarding when mastered, simple but in depth, specially when compared to how boring combat is in older tab target MMOs like WoW or FF14, having 30 buttons for abilities that the game literally locks on target for you gets really boring for me, and the complexity doesn't come from the combat itself but having to coordinate 20 people, same reason I prefer a game like LoL where you only have 4 abilities per character in a match of 10 people max, but the combat is still so much more complex than tab target MMOs, I guess it's a preference kind of thing, but I just can't go back to tab target games in 2024, and the graphics are literally some of, if not the best out of any MMO, specially compared to how dated the big old MMOs look these days, WoW, FF14, GW2, ESO, played them all, none of them look anywhere near as good and look really dated these days, maybe you can make an argument for WoW because it has the cartoony art style, so you might prefer that, but the only other MMO competes in the graphics department is fully maxed out remastered BDO? maybe?
Also it was fun in the first and 2nd major push when they did big updates. Playing and then was great the problem is they cannot keep that momentum. Was it a buggy mess and had issues yeah, it did, but overall it was something fun to play.
I really like the way to get some okay gear is chest runs for a while. That was fun, some of the puzzles in the world are cool as hell too. Questing was mixed bag but I smaller combat in the world running around flagged all the time was legit what kept it fun. I didn't get the last DLC as I didn't have a group to go back and play with for the last one. It was worth the money and time I put into it.
I understand the combat's overall appeal and it's true that it's a lot better designed for pvp with less skills and more focus on direct targeting. And the environmental graphics are also truly great. I only wish that the character models were cleaner and sharper (a lot) and the combat was more responsive and better sounded. BDO could compete in graphics and combat if it weren't so deep in monetization.
@aridollx LoL literally has millions of active players every day, is one of the most played games of all time, and continues to be, how is it a dead game? but keep playing tab target games like the boomer you are and getting mad at people who play games that take actual skill 🤷♂️
Horrible review... Combat is great... your game play looks like your a total newbie playing the game... who stands in place and eats food while fighting... If New World is sooo terrible.... what MMORPG do you consider the best that is out?

I told in the video that even Lineage 2 interlude combat is better, for both pve and pvp and does not require purchasing.

I can agree with the most of you are saying, but "worst combat"? Ofc, it depends on what you are expecting. If you are PvE player, than maybe yes. But when you play some PvP, it is the best thing ever happened in MMOs. This game lives because of this combat system.
Yeah, in terms of PvP I can agree that it is appealing for some players. I just can't accept its technical flaws, regardless of PvE or PvP, there're better animated, sounded and overall designed attacks and skills in different games. I just don't think that $40 + $30 for DLC is a good purchase just for PvP
my guy you actually not even tried pvp and you are not researching anything to make it more fun! start using weapons with same attributes. Believing that any other MMO got a better action live combact is just disingenous
The combat doesn't work on a mechanical level, it's not responsive and sfx are worse than chopping trees. But I'm still glad you like it more than I do 😎.
In terms of better combat, Black Desert and Lost Ark are better imo just to name a few.

@@carneasada3630 yeah, I don't like Lost Ark either except its combat. It's more responsive and better animated than in New World. That's what I meant :) Btw, I've got a review for Lost Ark, as well, on the channel.
didn't the game die almost two years ago now? I'm just looking at the player counts and I don't think people need to be told this anymore. People need to just let games die in peace instead of doing a thousand post mortems
The steam stats tell that there's several thousands online playing. So it's still holding up because of dedicated fan base that enjoys it somehow. But yeah, it seems that despite updates, Amazon will lead it to its grave sooner or later.
