The funniest part about the debate is, that they're two completely different archetypes of edge rushers. One's a prototype DE, the other a 3-4 OLB. They're also completely different in terms of how their teams use them. One spot drops in coverage, the other can rush inside. I'll take TJ over Myles, and I am a Myles fan. But TJ is a game changer. Always getting crucial sacks in pivotal moments, strip sacks to give his offense the ball back. Always getting tackles for loss. Always giving it his ALL EVERY PLAY. Myles is a monster but I haven't yet to see a remarkable game changing moment on his resume, maybe I missed it. TJ Watt is a force mutiplier on that DLine and he ain't scared of no dominant LT guarding him.
As a Steelers fan I actually DON’T think TJ gives his all every play because he always seems to do better when we need him most. Not that he ever slacks off, but I think he’s setting stuff up for later as the game within the game. So maybe he routinely does one move during the game but on a crucial third down in our territory he does an opposite move to catch the blocker by surprise. I haven’t seen anyone show that, but that’s my best guess as to why he usually does his big plays when we need it most. The greats are just like that. Guys like Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, and Tom Brady were never easy but they had higher gears they could switch to in crunch times. That’s the difference between guys who are great during the season but do worse in the playoffs because they always play in high gear but can’t elevate their game when it’s needed.

@@SuperStarTidus18 it was broadcast in like every game last year. They had by far the fastest time ball thrown against them. But no one is even talking about it. Just because Jamies Winston racks up crazy numbers in yards and touchdowns doesn’t mean he is the best.
Games are not won or lost by great offenses or defenses, they are won by the team that scores more points than the other team does. And if the defense allows less points than their offense can score, that is just enough to win that game. Therefore the Steelers don't need a great offense that scores them 30 points a game, they just need an above average offense that scores them more points than their great defense allows. Just as we saw against the Ravens.

Myles Garrett is a generational Defensive End. TJ is a generational OLB. They're both INCREDIBLE with two different roles to play on the football field.
AQ is full of it, you do not win games without a really good defense. The Steelers have shown all year long that their Defense is helping them win games.
I'd only take these "rivalries" seriously when it's pass rusher vs Offensive tackle, QB vs safety, RB vs LB, WR vs CB etc. QB vs QB means NOTHING when they never actually face each other.
I’m not sure but it is weird no one brings up how fast teams last year were getting rid of the ball. It was by far the fastest in the nfl the second half. Teams were completely changing there scheme completely around getting rid of the ball so fast it wouldn’t matter how dominant the pass rush was??? They talked about it a bunch in the Texans game playoffs.

I’m just confused as to why the o line talk is completely negative, the Steelers are like a top 8 running team in the nfl u have to have a pretty good run blocking line to be up there. I guess if ur talking pass pro ya but the run blocking has been pretty great this year
Trey Hendrickson is having a better year than both of these dudes yet nobody is talking about it. Go ahead and look up who has the most sacks and QB pressure. Let's not turn player accolades into popularity contests please.
I just watched breakdown videos of the Steelers oline, specifically McCormick and how much better he’s getting. I think McAfee’s guy in the video is basing this on old tape.
Lions are the only SB quality team currently. All phases look great. Chiefs, Bills, Ravens all have slightly above to average offensive lines. Eagles, Steelers, have average to below average lines with flashes of above average depending on the opponent. Honestly, out of the six teams I listed. I believe a single game between any would be a toss up 50/50 to 60/40 at best in favor of the Lions.
Fyi... Broderick is young; and it is what it is! Tomilin stuck with Dan Moore throughout his struggles, proving me wrong😑in the next couple of years, we'll have the best offensive line in the league!🖤💛🖤💛
Myles is outrageously athletic and powerful but I question his stamina. He seems to fade in the second half of the game/season too often. His “moments” are fantastic, but he’s less consistent than TJ.
Yall crazy if you don’t think Garrett not on TJ level they are clearly the best defensive players in the league nobody’s even close this coming from an eagles fan
@AQ Tell me you don't watch Steelers games without telling me you don't watch Steelers games. Russ throws the ball away to avoid sacks 3-5 times a game. 7:07 almost won? Chiefs got blown out 31-9. What’re you smoking Pat? Lol
Miles Garret plays for Cleveland. That tells you all you need to know....😂😂😂😂😂
Trey Hendrickson over Myles
Ask any GM. None would take Garrett over TJ.
That’s not true at all😂😂😂 everyone double teams Myles far more and gets rid of the ball far faster against Myles. That should tell you what you need to know. They feel like they can roll the dice with TJ some times which leads to greater numbers.
@ How would you know? They chopped your head season 1
@@SuperStarTidus18 it was broadcast in like every game last year. They had by far the fastest time ball thrown against them. I would probably take TJ over Myles all I’m saying is the he gets more sacks so he better is just retarted. No GM is going off that alone and thats all people ever bring up? You just admitted yourself you didn’t even know where that stat was. And if a dude has like a whole less second to get to the quarterback every other snap that would probably make a difference don’t ya think. Maybe I have the stats wrong even? But no one is even talking about it. Just because Jamies Winston racks up crazy numbers in yards and touchdowns doesn’t mean he is the best.
@@NedStarrk007 In the Game of Thrones you either win or you die. You already died. Why u talking to me?
@@SuperStarTidus18 still think I’m dead 😘
This game will be good Thursday defensive battle coming 💪🏾
Ya know a rivalry implies that both are very close and TJ has been far ahead of Garrett every year.
Rivalry? The only person doing it better than everyone is TJ Watt. It’s not even a competition
Nah, it's not a beef or rivalry unless both sides acknowledge it. TJ doesn't care.
The dude who threw a hissy fit on Twitter last year doesn’t care about it? “It’s nothing I’m not used to” you people are delusional
@Robbbyyyyy he did? Gee, didn't seem all that much. Delusional is you watching browns games
@@Buconoiryeah he did, do you not remember? lol
@markees97 he tweeted? That's all it takes nowadays?! Man, you guys have gotten soft.
@@Buconoir you guys? Lmao he was the one who cared enough by complaining about it on twitter, that’s the whole point of what the dude was saying… but hey good game tonight, looks like Myles Garrett outperformed TJ watt tonight
If you need a play, TJ is who you would pick. Not every drive will be a turnover but it sure feels like he creates multiple opportunities for the defensive every time the opposing offense takes the field.
The caucasity in the comments 😂 it's just a game 😂
Myles is mostly hype.
Myles Garrett is a generational Defensive End. TJ is a generational OLB. They're both INCREDIBLE with two different roles to play on the football field.
@@jedelliott265 .. you have your opinion about Garrett and others have theirs. ✌✌TJ consistently wrecks a game... Garrett, not very often.
@ dude you don't know ball
@@jedelliott265 .... oh my... I see someone had their feelings pinched ...
Myles garrett is a DAWGGGGGGGGG no question about it but he ain't TJ TJ WATT IS THE BEST DEFENSIVE PLAYER ON THE PLANET
AQ is full of it, you do not win games without a really good defense. The Steelers have shown all year long that their Defense is helping them win games.
For their ti be a rivalry, it. Has to be competitive. Garret isn’t in Watt’s league. It’s like an adult having a rivalry with a child.
I’ve never seen a comparison between 2 different positions like this, people are so weird
Steelers fans are so super slow sooo they don’t know what that means
I'd only take these "rivalries" seriously when it's pass rusher vs Offensive tackle, QB vs safety, RB vs LB, WR vs CB etc. QB vs QB means NOTHING when they never actually face each other.
I’m not sure but it is weird no one brings up how fast teams last year were getting rid of the ball. It was by far the fastest in the nfl the second half. Teams were completely changing there scheme completely around getting rid of the ball so fast it wouldn’t matter how dominant the pass rush was??? They talked about it a bunch in the Texans game playoffs.
So you’re saying there’s a chance!😂🏈 let’s freaking go Steeler nation!! We’ve already won a trophy with a subpar o-line,round two and we got this 💩!!
Shipley must have ALWAYS got smacked around playing against THE BURGH lol 😂
Tj didn't show up because he got snubbed. Myles never skipped because he never deserved it. Big difference.
Only people who believe Myles "won" are browns fans, cowboys fans and steeler haters. Tj was the best and arguably still the best defensive player.
Did Pat just say the chiefs “almost won” against the buccaneers?
I think Watt makes more impact plays(last year and this year) .im a browns fan Garret is great but this year mostly ineffective
Myles told y'all what was gonna happen 😂
As a Browns fan and a lifelong Ohioan. There is no debate. TJ watt is far superior. Myles Garrett can't stop the run, nor does he try. He may be good for one play. Two tops every two games. I would trade Myles Garrett for a bottle of Gatorade if I was the Browns
Myles Garret is far better at stopping the run and pass rushing and stats back it up
Well said JJ there is no competition this is great players playing exceptionally
🖤💛🖤💛 Here We Goooooooo
Respect to Myles, but TJ is a gamebreaker. Nothing wrong with silver.
They already have stats for "pass rush win rate". It's called sacks, hurries, and qb hits. Who had more of each?
What happened?? 😂😂
Pat needs to RESPECT JJ, and release the full interviews as clips! Seems like everyone else has their FULL interviews released.
The truth is Myles Garrett should`ve been banned from the league 5 years ago and should have served time in prison for attempted murder.
Im a Browns fan. I love Myles, but he lacks intensity. TJ is intense. I would trade Myles for TJ. Stefanski lacks intensity, I would trade Stefanski for Vrabel. Intensity is so underrated. You need the fire!!!!!!
Myles Garrett has been a no show in 4-5 games this year. When I say no show, I literally mean not a single tackle.
Just add to the fire boys. This team is special.
Myles just shut this convo down today… hard
They should’ve asked Myles if he and Watt switched numbers for this past season and they gave the DPOY to TJ how would he feel.
He should have told them that’s not how reality works
@ did you even read what you said lol I don’t know what you’re trying to say
@@jonny4yacomment made perfect since them switching numbers to know how each other feels isn’t phcuking reality you slow?
AQ being a offensive lineman and his reasoning being the Oline is sad cus that’s the Steelers offensive stregnth rn
I just watched breakdown videos of the Steelers oline, specifically McCormick and how much better he’s getting. I think McAfee’s guy in the video is basing this on old tape.
Hey, everyone knows Myles ALMOST touched CJ Stroud in a game, he obviously deserved DPOY
That's a fair debate. Steelers O-line is the weakest link.
Lions coach plays with house money too much. He's not trustworthy at all. In a close game he'll be the reason they lose...guaranteed.
Tj Watt is best defensive player in the league hes the Best player in the league
Zero sacks today for TJ, 3 sacks for Myles!
JJ makes the show better
Fyi... Broderick is young; and it is what it is! Tomilin stuck with Dan Moore throughout his struggles, proving me wrong😑in the next couple of years, we'll have the best offensive line in the league!🖤💛🖤💛
Look at their stats beside each other. Watt won every category
Steelers have best defense and best special teams so 2 outta 3 is damn good
Rivalry?
One guy has finished top 3 four times… the other only once. Which was last year where he won by 4 votes. Stop it.
Apologize for being babies to both TJ and JJ
Tj watt
It can't pick up intensity in November, because Garrett turns into a ghost every November 🤣🤣
Shortening JJ into Jage 😂
AQ - yeah I think the Steelers O is weak
Also AQ - yeah I could see the Ravens and Steelers at the level of the top NFC team, Detroit Lions
Selling the hard knocks season with the one that has nothing to lose lol
TJ should make Miles aware of this rivalry 🙄
Myles is outrageously athletic and powerful but I question his stamina. He seems to fade in the second half of the game/season too often. His “moments” are fantastic, but he’s less consistent than TJ.
Yea tj was so consistent tonight with his 1 tackle and zero sacks get real
Yall crazy if you don’t think Garrett not on TJ level they are clearly the best defensive players in the league nobody’s even close this coming from an eagles fan
jj doesn’t hide his bias at all
@AQ Tell me you don't watch Steelers games without telling me you don't watch Steelers games. Russ throws the ball away to avoid sacks 3-5 times a game. He's well above the "50%" passing that you said. He's also only a few games into the offense too...Steelers by 10 today...Steelers Lions in the SB...Steelers ML all day.
