I never considered the possibility of axles bending before. Now it makes sense why rock crawlers have so much support welded on the axles and differentials.
What I really like about Russian mechanics is that they actually repair the original car parts. They disassemble the part and fix the problem to reduce costs. As for the rest of the mechanics, they just replace the parts with new ones without any trouble or difficulty.
Its largely what they're working on and how much they get paid, most people would rather pay the mechanic a little to install a brand new part they bought instead of a lot to spend time repairing the old one before installing it, in America the mechanics cost more and the parts are harder to repair or even illegal to repair/replace thanks to the dmca(the same copyright thing that youtubers hate).
As a former mechanic, the shop I worked at would rebuild stuff like transmissions, but by the time labor and parts was calculated it cost about the same as a remanufactured unit and he couldnt give as good of a warranty as they could
In the States. Almost every gas station had a couple bays and a real mechanic or two. It was normal for them to rebuild starters, alternators, and turn drums and rotors when they did brakes. Now none of them employ a mechanic. Those were simpler and arguably better days. Depending on how things go in the world economy over the next few years. We may go back to rebuilding everything to some extent.
Another awesome video/experiment as always. Much love and happy thanksgiving guys. Not quite sure if y'all do thanksgiving over there in Russia or if that's just an American thing, but it's on Thursday the 28th. you guys are definitely my favorite Russian UA-camrs. I hope y'all are doing well over there and have a happy thanksgiving if y'all observe the holiday. Much love to you guys from South Carolina USA ❤
I used to have a old old maby 50s model winch that was just like that one used basically a starter motor to run it. Would have been more impressive if you hadnt used the pulley to multply the torque on the winch but still pretty cooll!!!!! Really should have riged up a reverse lol
Please do a video of different materials that could be used as engine gaskets. My Great Grandfather would use cardboard from cereal boxes for his own car. He was a mechanic his whole life, aircraft mechanic in ww2, and worked for GM all the time i was able to know him. I was very young when he passed, so I dont know how many times he had to replace the gaskets, but as far as I know they lasted enough to consider it to be worth it.
you could have bought a brand new Winch that can pull 2300 kg. for the same price as a new front axle for the G Wagon cost. But the idea was great if you had an electric motor you could run in reverse. Keep up the good work I watch all your videos and allways remember the like button.
Next make a hollow compressed air tank bumper with air fittings and customise an ac pump and clutch to give it on the roll air for air tools or lift bags. Bags can be quick inflated from exhaust then final lift with the air from tank in bumper. Best thing is bag can roll up in back or go on the jz trailer with some mudders :)
Even with reverse gear in the winch, it would have been rough landing... Need brake for the reverse gear to slow down the cable when tension releases...
I haven't tried it, but I would have simply reverse the terminals on the starter motor. Disconnect the main battery so the frame isn't grounded, and put the positive of the remote batt pack to the starter frame and neg. to the power wire. Maybe pull all the fuses to be safer.
that ending was great, its like the golden era of TopGear, seriously love your videos!
Top gear yessss!!!!
Man you guys are awesome, I love your videos and I learn quite a lot about those ladas! Thanks for the learning and entertainment!
Just flip the axle upside-down and drop it again. 😆
Lol 👋🤣👍
Or... bus axle?
🤣
If S ever HTF these gentlemen would be the ones you would want to survive to help build/repair/fabricate anything mechanical.
the S will HTF because the west cannot stand the jealousy of a smart country like Russia
Up next, how to use a homemade winch to straighten an axle.
👍👌🤣😂
reminds me of a scene from "the gods must be crazy" a land rover swinging in a tree. loved that movie
Very good classic!
"What the hell did you go and do that for?"
That scene turned out to be more expensive than planned.
I never considered the possibility of axles bending before. Now it makes sense why rock crawlers have so much support welded on the axles and differentials.
You guys need more scenes like that sending 😂 love the video
Day 7 of asking for 2 V8's put together to make a V16

You should post on their main channel. This is just a translation of their normal videos.
12:43 the wheel said bye bye
...it said bye bye to its dear friend, the axle😊
🎶Ya picked a fine time 🎶
🎶to leave me loose wheel🎶
surely they will crAft it bAck to its originAl beAuty
Glad to see you are still able to post new videos. I was worried that your government may had shut you down from uploading.!!!!
It wouldn't be their government, it would be ours.

And charge you accordingly😡
If you think that mechanics just install a new part and it’s done.
Tell me again how you’ve never known or been a mechanic 😂

Make an opposed piston engine out of two lada engines ❤❤
Please please please 😂😂😂😂
up up up
'Deltic' layout lol! :D
@@bensaadabdessamed9308
They welded two fours together but couldn’t get the timing right!!
👌🤣👍nice job on the winch! But say goodbye to your axle!! Yikes!😳
Never expected the ending, you've got to try driving it 🤣 part 2 incoming
Thank you, absolutely beautiful.
This is quite amazing! If a 1.5 ton winch can do this, it makes me wonder if my 4 ton winch can actually pull harder.
Best video ever...
You guys are my brothers from other mothers
A win is when ya don't bend an expensive axle. lol great vid guys
Primitive axle😂
Nice work. We shared this video on our homemade tool forum last week 😎
Love the ending 😂😂
Keep up the amazing content guys!!

Many years ago we used 2x starter motors (one for up and one for down) for the winch on our 300 Ford powered 60s Bedford tow truck.
cant you just reverse polarity?
The tree is the winner!
8:36 That rhymed well! Starter motors just make that much power but heat up so quick. Should have reverse rotation...
Stance nation G series!
Or used the alternator for better duty cycle. Need a higher gear ratio though.

When he said,
"it'll be the earth's gravity,
the weight of the G
and the strength of this here birch tree"
i felt that
This shows how good a lada can be even after it's been taken off the road
That really is an off-road monster!
The only single thing a survivalist need is a Lada.
I feel another offroad video brewing!!!

Fantastic - even the detail of "should I turn the sound off" 😂😂
If you change the winch polarity it will drop slowly the car.. btw, its an awesome ending!
Part 2, coming soon.
Part 2, we converted a 4x4 into RWD.
they will crAft tht Axel bAck to its originAl glory
Great episode!

Epic Translation win 👍🏼
you need balls of steel when you sit in front of a steel rope in tension...😁💪
yeah. common sense is 0 here. I was just waiting for that wire to snap
Nice video guys ❤ from indonesia
Last epidsode didn’t involve Lada. Now they are back 🎉
Next video, how to make a G Wagon front axle housing with supplies around the garage.
Best episode ever!!!
Give this man a Noble Prize
This was a great video 😊
really brilliant re-use
That is so cool. You guys are awesome.
You guys do awesome work.
If you use a snatch block, you can double the power of the winch
you could have bought a brand new Winch that can pull 2300 kg. for the same price as a new front axle for the G Wagon cost. But the idea was great if you had an electric motor you could run in reverse. Keep up the good work I watch all your videos and allways remember the like button.

Even with reverse gear in the winch, it would have been rough landing... Need brake for the reverse gear to slow down the cable when tension releases...
you need a reversible variable feed controller on the starter to control speed and reverse
Put the winch around the car so you make a car burrito
That is a great video, thanks.
107% best winch 👍🌟👍
I saw the end on that broken strap lmao, theres a reason why ratchet straps say not to use them for towing
Great! 👍

every lada fears this man
"doesnt look too bad" Yeah, this live axle suddenly has camber but it`s fiiiiiine :p
That was a huge fall! Hope the axle housing is good and you can just replace the tubes...
What a fall
The tires are leaning in. its bent lol
@@kwslife116 yeah. but you can replace the tubes.
@kosir1234 yea, I get that.
No Ladas will get out of these guys hands in one piece.
@@SP-pd6cz
No Ladas survived the making of these videos!!
Don't overlook drum diameter or diameter of wrapped cable. Pull definitely weakens as cable wrap increases.
That Mercedes is sick tho
oh i hope the damage isnt too severe from the fall! that probably damaged many things if the axle was bent so bad!
on next we take two ladas and build a spaceship
Can you guys try adding a spring-loaded break from motorcycle it should have strangt to break the winch and provide enough for breaking when releasing
Dammit i friggin love u guys. An american MeKaNiK here lol
now its a track day G-wagon
You find the weak point on g wagon, now you can improve it. 😅
When you don't know what's comes next search the weak points 😂
I guess we're going to get a repair video on the G-wagon next.
Now you guys need to bend the axle back and see if you can drive it.
Remember the movie,The Gods must be Crazy, when the guy couldn't get his jeep down.
Bolt that thing to the floor and use hydraulic jack to straight it up.
Brilliant 👍
A chainsaw winch would be an excellent alternative Vlad!
@@davidjones-sb5es
It would have to be geared
Waaaaaaaaay Down!
how about making 12 inch or one foot portal axle ends and putting them on a lada or the g waggon?
oh you must show us the aftermath of that axle!!!
Why is there a ground jumper cable running to the exhaust? Haha... Also when it fell in immediately seen the camber and knew axle was bent.
Use the winch to bend the axle back
Frozen ground and frozen tires must make it easy to bend the front axle.
That car is on its period
for a moment i thought these guys went full whistlindiesel
Eeeehhhh Ramazannn iiiioouuuu 😂😂😂
use the winch to pull it back enough to get home
Gud vid 💯💥
Gravity always wins, because it's the law... :P
OMG guys - What have you done to the GGW (Gorgeous G Wagon) - I expect you'll make a new axle from a Niva or something
“Should I turn the sound off”
😂🤣😂
That was so coool
I didnt know you guys were a bunch of engineers

They didn’t either!🤭
HEY! Have you guys ran an engine on canola oil?
Can U turn normal wheel setup into tank tracks?

Try oxygenating gasoline to see if there is better horsepower and better fuel milage.
8:50 "The Gods Must Be Crazy" movie scene...
Add a minature transmission to it to switch to reverse or whatever
sorry for your axle i must try to support you buying merch
