Man what a time to be alive when this dropped. I was 17 years old and this album was playing non stop throughout the rest of my highschool years. EVERYONE was bumping this album. It gave you a sense of nostalgia even though it was new. Listening to it now gives you true nostalgia and it just gets better with age. I remember seeing him headline Lollapalooza in Chicago the following year and hearing this album live just gave me such a sense of joy in peace that I cried from the overwhelming joy. It's hard to explain. Life was much simpler back then.
Yes. I was a high school drop out almost the same age, playing this at the crib and agree with all of what you said! What a time we got to live through.
Being the biggest Thug fan in 2015 in middle school, the amount they’d clown me for realizing that he’s the goat, Barter 6 curated my entire music taste
@@YoMomsGynecologist I wouldn’t even say just barely, time wise yeah but albums wise he’s listened to more than probably most self proclaimed hip hop heads
Angels is actually what introduced me to saba and made me check out his music. His project bucket list dropped around same time this song came out so glad i gave it a listen
One thing I will say about Chance the Rapper overall, he knows how to display nostalgia and in his lyrics and production. Even from his breakout mixtape 10 days he has some great nostalgia inducing lyrics and production.
With No Problem you gotta remember most people aren't listening trying to be hyper-analytical with headphones on lol they just got it going in the background at a party or in the car or whatever. It's just to vibe to
I’m so glad you reacted to this tape. This is such a positive soulful record and it’s been so supportive to me on a personal level. I’m not even religious but the positivity on display is so infectious it gives me hope.
I listened to this album everyday in my 2nd year of uni, didn’t listen to it when it came out tbh. But it was so upbeat it made a stressful time actually bearable
What a great thing to wake up to on an early Sunday Football morning. Couldn’t sleep last night much. Got up early and saw this. Been having a great couple of hours with Bob and Chance, wife is still in bed, coffee and ps5 controller in hand. Thanks for getting back around to this one.
I remember subscribing to Apple Music the day this came out to listen to this in 11th Grade. Good times and you made me realise how fast time has gone past
You mentioned being a big Thug fan again here, I cannot wait for a reaction to the rest of his work! I think you would enjoy Beatiful Thugger Girls, very experimental sound from him!
@@07coco yep fully agree plus he hasn't really heard much of the upbeat side of his music yet, he's only seen glimpses of it idk if it's on his radar tho, so if u have patreon try messaging him privately about it, he actually checks those lol... and if more of us ask for it, there's a bigger chance he'll actually do it 😂
ik its not hiphop but i highly recommend listening to "Imaginal Disk" by Magdalena Bay, i'd say its tied with i lay down my life you as album of the year for me
This album is such a classic to me. Came out the summer I graduated high school and soundtracked some of the most formative memories in my life thus far, straight into freshman year of college. I don't care if Chance never drops another solid project, this and Acid Rap solidify him as great in my book.
I always felt like Wendy in Same Drugs referred to the City of Chicago, being that it is often called the Windy City. I think it's a play on words. Referring to the Chicago as a girl named Wendy, and it's a metaphor that the city has gone through significant changes. Maybe it's a reach.
unlike most music I love, there's a lot on this tape that I haven't even heard since 2016. one of the most impactful years of my life so far. this is going to be very nostalgic for me
Was not expecting this reaction, but I am looking forward to watching this. I hope you do a reaction for his upcoming album called "The Black Starline Gallery", I think you'll find it to be your favorite of his work. Much more mature and introspective. Also if you read this, you should really listen to The Social Experiment's album "Surf". It's an underappreciated classic with Chance, J. Cole, Busta Rhymes, Big Sean, Quavo, Noname, and more
I really enjoy Chances animated high energy style and voice. It resonates with me and takes me back to high school days. I can totally see how that is not for everyone, which obviously makes his projects less appealing to revisit for some. Even so, when he slows it down and strips back, I think most people can find enjoyment in how vulnerable and honest his lyrics and production is.
2016: last year of me partying with the homies all the time, listening to amazing albums and going to crazy shows like life of pablo tour and death grips.
No Problem to me is Chance’s victory lap for reaching probably higher than any rapper before him without signing to a major label. Basically saying I am too big now for you so stay out of the way.
Not sure if you're gotten this recommendation before but I think you would really enjoy Quadeca's last mixtape and album. I Didn't Mean To Haunt You and Scrapyard are some of my favorite albums of all time
Evening Bob!! I’m sure you’ve been asked this a few times but have you listened to Run The Jewels 4? I know you did 1-3 along with Michael! So I’m not sure if I just missed it or it, or you haven’t heard it yet. Anyways thank you have a good evening!!
chance has dropped like 12 singles for his mixtape that was supposed to drop this year but has been drawing out the rollout. so ig u picked a good time for this because that new tape should hopefully be out sometime soon lol
Does anyone remember when the first versions that were released on streaming had weird mixing on a lot of the tracks, I remember the first half in particular with the volume levels being all over the place
can you please react to J Cole's Born Sinner album? i really love ur channel it helped me through some tough times i would love to see your reaction to that.
bob I would love to watch you react to joey valence & brae - no hands, that album is so fun tho hear they are really having fun making their music and the beats are fire, just silly music that goes hard
Bob, I know this has nothing to do with chance and this album but I would love if you would check out Immortal Technique's album "Revolutionary Vol. 2" it’s a game-changer in the world of hip-hop. This album stands out for its uncompromising and unapologetic approach to tackling social and political issues. Immortal Technique's lyricism is razor-sharp, delivering hard-hitting truths that challenge the status quo. Each track is like a wake-up call, urging listeners to question the system and strive for a better world. The album's unique blend of storytelling, activism, and intricate wordplay sets it apart from mainstream rap, making it a must-listen for anyone seeking music with substance and a powerful message. Give it a spin, and let the authenticity and passion behind each track resonate with you, I really believe that you would enjoy it.

Finish Line / Drown def one of the biggest highlights off this album. So lush and sweet
Bob appreciating Thugger means something to me man
The amount of joy I got from him appreciating Jeffery and barter 6 is actually embarrassing
Being the biggest Thug fan in 2015 in middle school, the amount they’d clown me for realizing that he’s the goat, Barter 6 curated my entire music taste
Summer Friends might be my favourite Chano song. It makes me feel so nostalgic. Life was simpler back then.
It’s actually such a tear jerker reminds me of the old church summer camp days as a kid 😢😢😢
Such a great song.
to me his songs with nosaj thing laso evoke that emotion
Definitely my favorite track of his. Soundtrack to nostalgia. Acid Rain, Chain Smoker, Paranoia are right up there for me as well.
Summer Friends is so underrated. Best Chance song
One of the albums that actually got me into hiphop!! All we got and summer friends always hit for me
Yikes lol
Sadly Bob never likes 2 Chainz funny verses :( I remember when he took his All Me feature verse so seriously lmaoo
