My favourite kanye album absolute 10/10 skipless classic man i wish kanye would go back to this soul sampling style i think thats where he shines the most
i think hes about to slowly get back into soul sampling with his new album bully (if it drops). Hes done something very similar with 530 (if you dont include the ending) just didnt add drums or much and didnt put too much effort into the sample. A good comparison of 530s sample is DIANDs sample "will you love me tommorow" from smokey robinson where instead of raw sampling and chopping up the sample he added beat and reverb to it which really gave it life and made it one of the best samples ever pulled, so i truly think if he did the same with 530 to give it more life rather than keeping it such a slow beat he wouldve been able to really rap on it and make it a great highlight. such a great song still but a shame that he missed out on a great opportunity to prove himself.
Always love to see people enjoy “Bring me down” it has been one of my favorite Kanye songs since I first heard it and it always kinda baffles me that it’s bottom 5 streamed Kanye songs.
To be honest this album is tied with College Dropout for me as his best album. The features, the production, everything is on point w this sophmore album.
I think it might be superior. Production is more grand and classy, lyricism is even more skilled in some songs. And also, college dropout might have higher highs but alsp has lower lows. Both albums are basically 10/10 but to me LR better
