  • I recently received an email from John who skis in the New England States and he asks about his skis slapping when he classic skis. Thanks to Auclair Gloves for their help with this presentation. This video shows a couple of reasons why slapping might occur and how to correct it. If you would like to check out our on line nordic ski school to improve your skiing send me an email at k2nicol@gmail.com

    Great demonstrations and simple explanations as always Keith. You are my go to instructor for all my XC ski questions. How you get your videos done in less than 5 minutes while others take twice as long is a testament to the depth of your knowledge and experience.

    Thanks Keith. I’d never thought about the second tip relating to an over bent glide leg as contributing. I’ll add to all the other things I need to work on for my classic technique :)

    I had the same thought when I was skiing just yesterday! Thanks!

    I'll echo previous commenters. Excellent and very helpful (clear) tips for correcting this issue. It hits me when I become tired and careless after a few hours (without a break) on the trails.

    Great advice, thank you. Very helpful in your videos is that you also show how not to do it. And your explanations are clear and short. 👍🏻

    Great tip to stand up on the gliding ski to facilitate the reload of the other leg…..I was beginning to feel myself doing this is my last session, you just confirmed I was on the right track (groan) Thanks.

    This is so helpful. I took a XC skiing class and that 2nd point wasn’t even mentioned and I think that’s what’s also contributing to my slapping issue. Thanks so much

    Improved balance makes such a big difference. I bought a longboard after watching one of your videos on improving balance in the offseason last spring and I've noticed way less slapping this winter!

    I still feel a bit nervous going straight leg with all my weight on the one foot. Will need to work on that

    • @k2nicol
      @k2nicol  2 роки тому +1

      Doesn't have to be straight..but it helps to extend your glide leg to allow the recovery leg to slide under your body.
