Your sub count must be broken. Amazing editing, color grading, storytelling, music, literally everything except those skis (had to say it, I'm a snowboarder haha) I'd love to see more videos like this one, keep it up man
Holy, I watched this video, and was thinking damn this guy probably got like 1million subs or smth like that. You are gonna make it very far with this work. Keep it up man Love to see it
Why is no one talking about the fact you've learnt to fully parallel ski in under 30 days?! That progress is INSANE man! I know people who've been skiing for years who are 'worse' than you! Not to mention the editing is FIRE. You'll be at 1000 subs before December, I'm sure of that!
@@TheRyanMcDowell Yeah, you already seemed comfortable on the snow even before putting on skies (obviously, if you’re a decent snowboarder lol). Still mega impressive though!
Truthfully not sure how you only have 500 subs! I 100% thought you had 100k+ with how professionally made and masterfully executed this short film was! Nailed it brother!
Oh man this was such a blast to watch, last year I switched after 15 years of snowboarding to skiing. You nailed it! Keep it going! I went through similar journey, and after about 50 skiing days I figured it out and started to enjoy it!
I rarely comment on videos, but this deserves one. Amazing storytelling and cinematography! I am also learning to ski this year having been snowboarding my whole life. I hope to be able to get a black diamond in this season!
Dude, this is such a criminally underrated video and I'm glad the UA-cam recomendations lead me here. I've only done 2 traveling vids my self but you nailed it. The story telling was spot on, transistions were dope, the audio design went nuts, colour correction was phenomenol, cinematogrophy/videography was natural and beautiful and the lenght and content of the video was "short" and precise. I've honestly got nothing bad to say about the video. Good work my guy, keep going!
I love this video! I'm going to kind of do the opposite this year, I'm only 16 but I've been skiing since i was 5, this winter I am going to try snowboarding. Also We have the same exact goggles!
Thanks! The goggles are from Pit Viper. I liked the loud pattern but it's from their cheaper line so it's not the best performing goggle, they have some higher end ones though that are nice.
This project had a bunch of different cameras. Interviews were on canon r5, skiing was insta 360 and iPhone and the skiing sequence at the very end was red komodo.
@@TheRyanMcDowell If you asked for my feedback to improve your skiing it would be to learn to carve, which is easier to learn on skis that are 90mm underfoot (or narrower) in lieu of something really wide. I'm talking about dragging your hand on the snow type of carving. You have a significant advantage with your snowboarding background, as you show to be comfortable on steeper slopes and such. My daughters made the most improvement when we made the goal to ski all of the blue runs at Alta in a season, crossing them off the resort map as we completed them. IMO you learn little or nothing from 'surviving' a challenging run beyond you ability. Ask yourself, did I "rip" that run, or did I just "survive" it? And perhaps my favorite recommendation, make multiple laps on the same run so you can focus on technique on a familiar terrain. I generally don't ski off trail until Snowbird has a base more than 50 inches, I use this time to practice my skills while I wait for the sharks to disappear. Lastly, the PSIA has a good list of basic skills that I think any competent skier should have a reasonable command of, scroll down to the list of Level 1, 2, & 3 Tasks here: psia-c.org/education/alpine/alpine-resources/
Everything was amazing but something u could work on is storytelling. Idk how, but showing the progress on different days with the learning of new skills clearly mapped out or something. Anyway its a great vidand id like to see where this channel goes (I subbed obvs)
@TheRyanMcDowell went to doctor today apparently I can't ski rest of season so this season already over for me. Probly over 12 weeks to fully recover 😭
I don’t ever comment on videos but the storytelling, videography, music, and everything else is just perfect. Love this
🙌 Geez I'm blushing. For real though thanks a ton I appreciate the comment.
How do you only have 1800 views on this incredible video🎉 and 400 sub??

Thanks!!! I think getting to be so consistent skiing and the snowboarding background really helped the progression.

Definitely a fun a challenge to switch it up from the board for a bit.
I agree with everyone here. This video looks amazing, with great editing, coloring, and storytelling. Keep it up, you'll make it big, I believe.

Why this is not viral?
Who knows maybe you are just early 😂
I don't think I've ever commented on a youtube video, but I have no idea how you have 500 subs with the quality of your videos.
🤷♂️ maybe this will be the year the channel takes off.
sick progress! what are those goggles.?!

as a skier i realised i need to be more like you (stop being a wuss and actually attempt the park features even if im not a pro)
It is very true that you have to be willing to crash to improve, but crashing also can be pretty terrible haha
