As a full time working mama of two, my nighttime routine isn’t nearly as long and luxurious as yours but that’s ok! Life is full of seasons and mine requires a little more cleaning up and preparing for others right now. My nighttime routine usually looks like getting the kids ready for bed (teeth, Jammies, book and tuck in) while my husband does dishes and picks up the kitchen or we switch. I’ll also take time to make sure that lunches are made for the next day and book bags have been packed. Then I brush my teeth, wash my face, pick out clothes for the next day, and read a chapter or two of a fiction book before bed.

My favourite part of my routine is when I choose which Pj I am gonna wear 😊 I love Pjs and I have quite few for every mood ( crazy but works magic) also using rose water as a toner before bed is so relaxing 😌
Thank you for all you do❤

As always, great video! I was honestly surprised when you mentioned that so many people only brush their teeth once a day. I grew up being told to brush in the morning and at night as basic hygiene.

I love my evening routine! I always brush my teeth, take a nice warm shower, do my skincare, then get into bed with my journal and a book. It works perfect for slowly winding down after the day. Getting my body and mind ready to rest 😃

Currently I take a shower, moisturize, brush my teeth, in make my bed, read and then go to sleep. I used it always make a cup of tea to be ready for me after I shower and to drink while reading, it got stressful so I stopped. I also used to put my clothes out before bed. That is something I will try out again. I do it every once in a while but helps to feel prepared and ready to go in the morning. I like the idea of cleaning when you get home. A clean home makes a huge difference in n my life.

I like to sleep in temperatures around 10-15 degrees Celsius. I love winters here in Canada because I’m able to get my bed room to the perfect sleeping temp for me. Lucky for me we have in floor heating so I don’t need to worry about freezing or bursting pipes.

Nighttime routines are a struggle for me, because I work late, but still want to get up early, and I prioritize getting enough sleep, too. So it's a juggling act of winding down, getting sleep, and waking up early. But even when I don't have a lot of time, I always take a shower and do my skincare, and brush my teeth. I have enough time in the morning to tidy etc., I'd father focus on getting enough sleep, but I also always take time to look after myself.

Re: TV, my wife and I have TV night twice a week, and it's typically just one episode, and sometimes two if we start early enough. We still aim to be heading to sleep by 11

Amen!!! Sister. I subbed to your channel. I am a firm believe in undwinding from the work day. So I think that some people believe that Undwinding is just for their kids but really we all need to work on having an unwinding routine before bed. Me as a working pianist can’t function if I don’t sleep cause my job is playing the piano. And that is actually a complex task for the brain cause little do people know is that the hardest instrument to play is actually the piano. It is actually one of the hardest to play. So undwinding from your day is so crucial for getting a great night’s rest. One thing I don’t do that makes me different from others is that I try not to listen to piano music before bed cause that will trigger work calling for me. Sense i have a connection with the sound of the piano. Not a good thing to do before getting to sleep for me is listening to a piano right before having to o to bed. So I listen to music that is not with just piano if it has other instruments in the background it is fantastic but solo piano nope hahaha. I am really working this year on my undwinding routine this year. Closing down the phone not even using t as my clock like before cause now, I have the hatch restore. You need the phone to set it up but other than that it will take care of you putting you to slow and waking you up at night. The bed….. I try and just leave for when I am actually ready to actually sleep. Even for undwinding I actually sit in my comfortable chair and listen to undwinding down music like smooth jazz. Before some time ago, I really had no structure in my undwinding. I would actually want to work before i go to bed and then I would automatically go to bed. I would yep you guest it get on the piano before i would go to bed not a good idea at all. Number 1. I am slowing down at night and can’t really function like during the day so I would play late into the night and wee hours of the morning. Playing the digital piano with a headset so it would disturb at night. that is the one good thing about having a digital piano but playing it just fired up my brain and I would bee ready to work!! Well, i had to stop that. Telling myself work can bee e left for the day and part of the evening but trying to get ready for bed not a good idea. Just like a truck driver or bus driver. They need to rest before operating their vehicles. Before then though, we need to find a way to calm down from all the activity. Many people listen to piano music and their is plenty of that on UA-cam to undwind at night and evening of course but as a working pianist I avoid that at all cost because of the connection I have with the piano. I don’t see it as undwinding. I see it as I have to work. I am actually loving just undwinding at evening time. I always love seeing on UA-cam how many undwind routines their are.

I have pretty bad insomnia and I found that when I tried to sleep by midnight I'd fall asleep at like 3am or sometimes even 5 or 6. When I set up my bedtime at 10, 10:30 I can usually fall asleep by or before 1. I also find that when I get a good, deep stretch I can fall asleep easier and in less pain

Hi Ashlynne! Love your videos and have watched for a super long time :) Just wanted to share a bit of friendly feedback about your thumbnails. Maybe it's just me! But I find the cursive font you've been using recently super hard to read. Sometimes I stare at it a long time and still can't figure out what it says (this thumbnail especially). Just thought I'd share in case others have found this to be the case as well.

I had a roommate who always picked out her clothes the night before, and I think it helped keep her room clean. All the pre-leaving-the-house-clothes-tornadoes were successfully averted.

Having eucalyptus in the shower isn't aromatherapy but phytotherapy... 😉aromatherapy is only essential oils, phytotherapy is any kind of plant based medicine (actually, aromatherapy is a family of phytotherapy).
