A simple hardworking man who keeps himself away from all evil and pays all his dues then finds a break in an innocent little entertainment and … it becomes a Fantastic movie by Sarmad Khoosat. How do you collect life’s little moments and put your magnifying glass right on top of it so beautifully. Simply amazing!!

Finally got around to watching this film, with so much unsaid this movie speaks volumes. I was particularly awe struck by the lead actor’s acting, he was so subtle almost naive in his movement but with an outstanding temperament where on one side he was a loving husband, a spectacular father who worked, took care of his daughters and got them married off. On the flip side just a little bit of freedom a little light hearted indulgence which in no way caused anyone harm turned his world upside down. The protagonist’s story telling makes me wonder the turmoil that must be going on in his mind, his life and especially his heart 😢 I just want to hug him and tell him no one NO ONE can judge him except the All mighty, these people don’t matter and please don’t let them.
Well done Sarmad for your film, I very much appreciate it like thousand others ❤

Dear Sarmad, Thank you for making this available to not just the Pakistani public but a global audience. I really appreciate your art and even more your generosity in making it accessible. I wish I could make a contribution to support you but there are restrictions on cross-border remittance to Pakistan. All the best! Keep resisting fascist forces and keep making stunning movies that however uncomfortable do hold a mirror to our society.

Brovo Mr. Sarmad Khoosat. Your masterpiece, "Zindagi Tamasha" isn’t merely a film; it’s a mirror held up to society, a compelling examination of the fragile line between personal freedom and social acceptance. Every frame is a brushstroke on the complex canvas of human emotions and societal judgments, making "Zindagi Tamasha" a cinematic masterpiece that will echo through the corridors of exceptional storytelling for years to come. Through Rahat’s fall from grace and his ensuing quest for redemption, the film underscores the profound truth that life is indeed a spectacle, a ‘Zindagi Tamasha’, a bittersweet parade under the watchful eyes of tradition and prejudice. Really inspired by the quality of work. Keep it up

I am not a movie critic and I have never written one but after watching this I felt compelled. In one sentence, it is a brilliant piece of art from Khoosat from storyline to screenplay, cinematography, performance and direction. It is no mean job to carry a 120 minutes of film with the central character being a middle-aged male. This film keeps one rivetted all along.
Its message is multi-dimensional. While the story sheds spotlight on how judgmental and self-adjudicating this society has become it simultaneously brings the other face of silent admirers who claim the dance video of the character as a great success. Where lies the equilibrium is something that the audience has to decide and decide after a long thought that compartmentalizing human character and its thought processes into water-tight boxes is the crime that the society commits. Art is fluid. An interest in one branch of art (singing Naat) and the rhythmic undulations of a body to music have a permeable barrier which is more imposed than spontaneous and the broadminded should be aware of giving a lot of margin for that.
The theme does use religion as a vehicle for conveying its message it's not really about religion but society's narrow minded outlook and its inability to identify its own identity crisis that seems to run throughout the film as an undercurrent.
On the side, it sends an important message that technology may be plug and play in nature but it carries a set of responsibilities which must be imbibed before plugging in the power of internet. Had the person not uploaded the dance video without permission from the main character this film would not have taken place at all.
Khoosat has kept the story, screenplay with some powerful editing at a subtlest level possible. This film is alternate cinema. I don't think it would have made commercial success in the theatres.

I have no words to describe how i feel. it saddens me. especially the Wife's departure, which made me bawl my eyes out. Sadaf character made me so frustrated. her father is such a caring devoted and loving man. but she only saw one flaw and undermined every good quality of him. mistreated him instead of being there for him like his wife was. Like family. in the end, the only things he was left with were the songs and films.

I have grown up watching Bollywood and Hollywood movies- I had no idea how it feels to see a movie that's based in a relatable environment- a Pakistani Punjabi household, the typical Pakistani mother, our streets, our festivals, our bazaars, "THE" Pakistani society and of course the woes of it.
Congratulations Sarmad Khoosat sb, Mr. Arif Hassan, Samiya sahiba and the entire team on creating a masterpiece. ❤️
Ps. No words have enough power to protest against the injustice that has been done to not let this movie in the theaters. It does not have a shard of offensive/controversial material.

    Dear Sarmad Sultan Khoosat!
First of all, congratulations to you on creating this splendid film and launching it on this platform. You have eloquently portrayed the significant aspects of our society in a two-hour film, and your effort and hard work are truly unparalleled.
We belong to a hypocritical society, yet it's astonishing that we do not readily admit our own hypocrisy. We took a religion that was an individual concept for everyone and turned it into a societal tool in the hands of the ignorant masses. And now the situation is such that while one side is touching the limits of science, technology, and artificial intelligence, we Pakistanis are entangled in issues beneath the surface. Perhaps locks have been thrown on our minds and intellect, sinking the keys into the river of Sindh.
Everyone knows others and critically assesses them, but no one knows themselves and avoids self-awareness. To bring about a change in our country, we need a revolution of thought. Revolutions are not brought about by creating a spectacle or circus within or outside the country. Instead, it's about subtly enlightening others and making them laugh, showing them how ignorant and backward we are.
There's much to write, but while appreciating your endeavor, I request you to continue this mission because we need content like this to change our thinking. Thank you very much.

Sarmad baita this is such an intellectual movie, our ignorant, immoral, corrupt people, religion and politics and emotions at zero level don’t deserve and cannot accept and understand it. This is a masterpiece movie. Never loose heart. May Allah bless you for showing the real insight of our so called Muslim Pakistani nation. We apologize to you for selfish society.
I’m thankful to Allah for saving your life and avoiding you to be killed by ignorant preachers and imam ‘s fatvas.
Thanks so much for putting on utube. Please don’t take it off. There are good and intelligent momin Pakistani still exist. It’s Saddaqa jaria. In Sha Allah you will get and see best rewards.

Sarmad, from "Chanjhar di pawan chankar" to Zindagi Tamasha, you have been an ambassador for social change and I hope this is only the beginning. All the best.

Story, character, acting, script, music, everything is perfect 💯
Deep inside, there are valuable lessons to be learned. Often, we tend to judge others for their mistakes, determining their fate based on our own opinions, and we sometimes unintentionally hurt their feelings. Unfortunately, we often forget to turn that judgment inward and reflect on our own actions. Ultimately, we can't truly know who is considered better in the eyes of Allah.

It is the very first time that I feel like to watch a Pakistani movie . and it was just a wonderful experience . A piercing fact of society that everyone considers himself a legal judge over the lives of others. We have taken the Divine powers in our hands to put others in accountability and issuing sentence of being heinous. I implore all plz stop seeing others in social mirrors ,just let them be an individual, whose assessment is solely task of Allah.

"Zindagi Tamasha" beautifully captures the intricate web of human emotions and societal pressures. The characters' struggles and their search for redemption make this movie a powerful exploration of reputation, judgment, and personal growth. The performances were gripping, especially Muhammad Rahat Khawaja's portrayal, which was both vulnerable and sincere. The film's depiction of how one moment can shape our lives and how society's expectations can be suffocating was thought-provoking. This heart touching movie shows that how a molehill turned into a mountain ,how everyone holding a mobile phone is terribly allowed to capture a private moment of someone and make it public without his permissions. This unleashed race of taking likes has just mad the life of everyone a public property. Even after socially and technically advanced ,we are awfully deteriorated in our moral and emotional growth.
With our dumb and filthy minds ,all time we are ready to find fault in other and made them heavier over hundreds of good deeds of others.
Be critic of yourself first ,before applying it on others
Sir sarmad khosat u have break the leg by creating such a masterpiece.

Sarmad Khoosat, a talented director, faced an unfair ban on his amazing movie. This film truly deserves all the awards for its brilliance. Khoosat's storytelling skillfully shows how our society can ruin someone's life with just one mistake. The movie's touching idea teaches us that even small things can destroy a person's life. It makes us realize that sometimes we act like we're gods, making big decisions for others. Khoosat's direction doesn't just show human mistakes, it's like a mirror that makes us think about how we affect others. In a world where judgments can change lives, this film is not just a story-it's a powerful reminder of our own humanity.
