Watching the masterpiece in 2024 and gosh… Perfection would definitely look like this. AND the Cast and Chemistry !!! Omg each and everyone nailed it. Cinema Industry definitely lost a gem; Irfan Khan. Loved his pairing with Tabu; one of the talented actress’s who should be celebrated more !
Heard about this but finally watched... amazing interpretation of Shakespeare..Irrfan, Tabu n Pankaj were super brilliant... probably one of the best acting in Indian movies I have ever seen.

3 greatest actors of Hindi cinema as per me - Pankaj Kapur, Irrfan Khan, Raghuvir Yadav. 2 in one movie - absolute delight. There can be no replacement for these because they never acted, nothing against Naseer, Om Puri, Balraj Sahni, Manoj Bajpai, Nawazuddin, Amitabh & others. They are all phenomenal but these 3 are greatest ever.

As far as Shakespeare adaptations go, this is one of the greatest.
Turning the witches into the corrupt police officers and the forest into the indian customs on the sea was truly inspired!

1:55:26 is easily my favourite scene. The hallucinations, the art of this scene where he remembers all his loved ones. The depiction of the real Maqbool is shown here when he realises the effects of his pernicious actions. Have seen it 5-6 times in a row and the effect of this scene is still with me.

I have been watching this movie since the day of its release. This movie is an institution for drama students and ALL THE CHARACTERS are gems. One trivia about this movie is that this is the only movie which has no retakes. All takes were perfectly done in just one shot, Director himself realised after the shooting got completed.
yes thats because each one of the cast knew their roles and did that to perfection so obviously no re-takes were done and the director had a clear vision of how it should be projected so no need of many retakes as many of the so called directors boast of . If the director as a story teller conveys what he wants very clearly and his cast knows that exactly then there is no need for any retakes, very simple which is a rare thing to happen but do happen when behind the camera the director is very good and knows his craft and what exactly he wants and he conveys teh same and in return the cast conveys the same and that is finally captured in the camera.
What an amazing cast! And the performance they've given, just wow! Totally mesmerized the audience. A masterpiece.

The way Irfan portrayed the role of macbeth is out of the world. He literally nailed her role. Pankaj Kapoor as Duncan I of Scotland acting is just awesome superb. And Lastly Tabu she as lady macbeth is just phenominal, beautiful unlike other actresses who play only eye candy roles in male centric movies here tabu broke the stereotype which shows that female character too is equal important though the central character of movie is male. A great salute to vishal bhardwaj who made this movie after omkara this is my favourite movie of Vishal.
