Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos is a high fantasy real-time strategy video game released by Blizzard Entertainment in July 2002. It is the second sequel to Warcraft: Orcs & Humans, and it is the third game set in the Warcraft fictional Universe.

the wisps used detonate and they was able to do it so effectively because they used the rage from being used as cheap labour to fly around trees all day to fuel their detonate ability
But Archimonde has magic immunity, he wouldn't have even been damaged by the wisps detonating.

I always thought Kil'Jaeden was more powerful but i may be wrong. Archimonde has a habit of getting beat by tiny gnats. He got killed by some random heroes in Warlords of Draenor too. Poor guy just can't get a break.
Then Illadan opens the tomb of Sargeras, fails to destroy the lich king, flees to Outland and serves Kil'Jaden who is the current ruler of the burning crusade. And the orcs and humans start waging all out war against each other once more, because of course they will.

When you really think about it....didn't they summon Archimonde at Dalaran?
Wisp's detonation damages summoned units.
Yea that's what they did. They banished him. If you look at him as the explosion commences his body outright disappears into nothingness. He got sent back into the Twisting Nether.

The Archimonde that appears in WoD was an alternate universe one.
@@CIAinTaiwanAndUkraine Wrong. Legion transcends the fabric of space and time, so it's the same Archi. He was killed here, then reconstituted himself in the Twisting Nether, then got summoned to alternate Draenor during WoD, then killed off for real in the Nether during the bossfight. Initially the Nether final death gimmick was only for the nathrezim, then got extended to the entire Legion. And even then they had infinite respawns on their homeworld of Argus thanks to the corrupted worldsoul.

I think this would be a nice end for the Warcraft story (since Medivh is responsible (in some way) for its beginning, he died in the first game and returned in the third to undo his mistake and 'retired'). But unfinished story of Arthas had to end, leading to the expansion...

Man this and the mission preceeding it makes Archimonde's appearance in WOD look like hot garbage.
In the books War of the Ancients he is beyond OP. Killing dragons by just pointing at them, and practically invincible, cannot be even hurt by anyone. And he rekts Cenarius father.
So this was the prediction where the heroes win that Strange was talking about. And Thanos dies from an overdose of dust. Wait a minute, wrong storyline.
Medivh is one of my favorite characters in warcraft, looking forward to see his involvement in the warcraft movie. The book about him was also my favorite warcraft book (probably)

@@DrRhyhm what do you mean with ingame cinematics? Can you explain a little bit? This Archimonde defeat cinematic doesn't need a remastered version but in-game cutscenes needs it. I hope you are not talking about the cutscenes, just the cinematics. I will be so sad if that happens.

About the legion second arrival. It was just interrupted by defeating Archimonde
2nd most satisfying Vilain defeat behind Sauron to me
the greatest of the three games......makes me want to play them from 1 - 3 again!

at first i tought archimonde was the most overpowered hero in the campaign that makes me wanna edit a map full of it as my soldier xD i missed playing his game cuz idk how to download it ;-;

frozen throne is an amazing game for sure, and finish the scourge arc...but I would be satisfied if this was the end of WC3...
How did this prevent archimonde from reforming in the twisting nether? I thought you had to kill a demon in the twisting nether to permanently destroy them, but here archimonde was forever destroyed....

Demon have to died in twisting nether is an asspull they concocted just so they have enough villain to reserved for their MMORPG World of Warcraft. Basically to continue the story for money.
In lore perspective,I think the world tree he is draining and combine the power of those ancient wisps is to much for him to take it in the same time so his soul being burn out completely

they are closely strong as sargeras or titans
Also i forgot the void existed(guy created old gods and corrupted sargeras)
they are weaker than sargeras or titans as the strongest of old gods Y'Shaarj which was the strongest among old gods was easily ripped apart by Aman' Thul.... they are only left alive and imprisoned because destroying an Old God would lead to the destruction of Azeroth since they are already deeply embedded into the world.
