I believe most of the hate comes from the fact that pop steals a lot from the electronic scene. Some songs are good, but when I hear Katy Perry or the like I cringe. My sister was listening to the radio the other day and a song came on and I thought, "Holy crap, those synths are beautiful!" and then someone sang and ruined it. If they sang good that would be different, but I'd love to have just sat and listened to an instrumental version instead of the usual "I want you bad, so come back" lyrics
