The lack of infected was a budget thing probably. Druckmann did address that season 2 will have more infected.

I think the only part that needed to have more infected was the coal mine fight where David and Ellie had to fight off a hoard of infected together. Cutting out that fight completely diminished the plot twist of David being the leader of the group of people that were killed by Joel and Ellie at the university.

I did see something about part 2 having to start the story structure over again because realistically to keep switching between the different upgrades would be far more annoying from a gameplay standpoint than just doing all upgrades for Ellie, then Abby. While ago that I saw it but if that’s true then the show definitely wouldn’t have that problem in terms of the structure
I think it was Neil Druckmann who stated that in an interview, don't remember clearly since it's been a while. But yeah, it was just that. Having to switch between both of them every hour wouldn't have worked gameplay wise. It would definitely work in a visual medium though! I remember when I played the game years back, I said to myself, "Man this story would have been better as a tv show." Guess we're gonna get that soon.
@@tarun_kumar_29 Yeah I went to check after trying to think about where I’d heard that and found it at the end of a clip of jacksepticeye talking about season 1. He mentioned talking to Neil who had offered the reasoning as to why they’d done things the way they had because of the gameplay. So considering it came from Neil directly it hopefully would suggest they’re more likely to make changes to the structure. How funny though that you thought about that whilst playing the game! Looking forward to seeing how it all ends up playing out, just hope people give it enough of a chance after what will happen at the start.

I had thought of the first game years back re-imagined as a tv show. For some reason, it just made sense (now we have proof lol). The 2nd game looked more like a story meant for a visual medium. Most of the problem people had with it came because of it being in a medium where the player directly interacts with the characters.
I'm excited to see how they'll rearrange the narrative. I suppose that Ellie and Abby's stories would be shown side by side instead of one at a time. Let's hope Mazin and Druckmann get it right! I've heard that they're going to give us more of Joel and Ellie, so that's a win!
They still should have put a playstation trophy instead of achievement unlocked.

I hope the adaptation of part 2 is as phenomenal as the game, greatest game ever made. Hope they don’t change a thing when it comes to the big stuff, don’t want them to ruin a perfect story just to please crybabies. The only change I wouldn’t mind is being able to get attached to the characters in the second half, by not literally having just watched them die at the end of the first half. The lack of infected is of course noticeable, but it’s hard to make it the same as the games because when you are playing the character, it’s easier to believe the things that happen, when in reality there is no way they would survive certain things, same reason they changed the way Joel got injured

Well the creators themselves stated that there would be more of Joel and Ellie is season 2, basically extra stuff in the story. We all know that "the scene" is still going to happen, it'll just be at a later point than at the beginning.
The Last of us season 2 will have "many more infected and more violence," the creators said.

Sorry monsters only usually show people themselves. There is no game play so more monsters are not necessary and I think you meant to say Game of Thrones not Star Wars for where they drew the main characters from

TLOU does not need more action. The story was the cut scenes in the game. Watch Uncharted or Doom if you want action from the game in your adaptation. What story beat is gained by more shoot outs? I know of none.
Neil stripped the action. He thinks the point of the game was the love between the characters.
Neil Druckman has ruined Naughty Dog Bruce Straley was responsible for the action parts in the game as he isn’t credited as Co-Creator of Last of Us because Druckmann is egotistical.
and I’m sure you realized this but as studio head he’s slowly getting rid of Uncharted. He was producer in name only for the Uncharted movie if he even was one. That movie was nothing like Uncharted or Indiana Jones. Or Even The Mummy it felt like a bad Disney Pirates movie in modern times. There have been some devs at ND who want to go back to Uncharted but Druckmann has been firm that they will not make another one again.
There isn't really a point in another Uncharted game unless you want spinoffs and side stories.
So glad I never played the game. Don't find shooting games interesting anyway. This show had two or three action heavy episodes, and focused on the drama with sporadic horrific violence periodically. Basically the Game of Thrones formula, which is quite successful. So you know they won't change it. I mean how much do the complaints don't matter, when they come from such a small part of the audience? I mean the complainers find each other online, but they are overshadowed by the folks that loved this show as is. When it sweeps the Emmys they'll again have even less of a reason to change a thing.
