I will never argue that this was a good movie in terms of cinematic art. But I had so much fun. It was my first 4Dx experience, so the novelty of that increased the value a lot. It was just a fun time that felt worth the 20 bucks I paid. Sometimes it is fine to just turn of your brain and let the movie happen. I was confused as to why the Illuminati triangle was in there though. I cannot remember the symbol being explained, so I was a bit distracted by that.
I mean, the movie was just bad all around lol. To each their own of course and this is just my opinion. There just wasn't any redeemable qualities of this movie.. The only one really hyping this movie (and now doing damage control on instagram or w.e) is Dwayne himself.
Expectations were met?…you were expecting a terrible plot, bad dialogue, a forgettable villain, absolutely no stakes or threat to the main character and CGI cranked up to 11?…good for you lol

What happened to all of the good kid actors of the 90s? Like the one in My Girl and obviously Dakota Fanning, good child actors used to be more common.

Because Kevin Feige understands that the MCU is character driven - and the *actor* creates the character. *I am Iron Man* was all about RDJ taking off the mask and making Tony Stark a character that audiences cared about. BTW: Iron Man has just been added to the National Film Registry. Not a coincidence. DCU never got this. They think the characters are icons and are the important thing. It doesn't matter which 'actor' plays them. And that is *why* they fail. You can see the success of MCU and failure of DCU *right there* in the opening logos.
11:37 in regards to the comment about Watchmen- Snyder literally used the comic book panels as the storyboard, the BTS shows that. For Watchmen, you can definitely tell that it’s the panels lifted straight from the graphic novel I’d say, just with some slow-mo occasionally. I think that’s one of the biggest strengths and weaknesses of the film adaptation tbh, it adapts so much directly but because it’s a movie, it has to omit certain things (such as the supplementary material). And because of that, much of it doesn’t work anywhere near as well as it did in the comic imo.
