We currently do not have ECMO, iNO, HFOV, or HFJV. All but ECMO has been approved with next year's capital budget (we probably will not do ECMO here at all). Yes. You are correct. By going into "System Setup," and touching VENTILATION and entering the code that is required you go to Maneuvers and then you choose your default. I found a simulator of the ventilator. IT IS LOADED.
Hi, you are correct with the VG tidal volume. That is a mistake. It is cumulative. Thanks for picking up on that. As for the FiO2, it is 20% of the set FiO2. So example, if you have 30% - 30 x 20%= 6, so 30 + 6 = 36% for the FiO2 delivered during suctioning. You can default this to any percentage. Our doc's chose 20%. Thanks for watching!

I thought 20% above fio2,during suction meant if the set fio2 is 21% + 20%= 41%...Also for volume guarantee mode the set vt was the total vt the pt was getting because you said it as if you were ordered 5ml/kg you would set 5ml vt which isn't so for any other pt that wasn't exactly 1kg... So in other words if a 2kg pt came in then you would set 10 ml vt on volume guarantee if you were ordered 5ml/kg...curious as to know if this is an error on the video or not
That is weird. You know It has no sound on my end. Every other video I watch has sound, but this video one of my favorite videos on UA-cam has NO SOUND all of the sudden.
I have a question. The ventilator resembles an Evita XL layout so closely. If I place my Patient on an Evita XL NIV with PC/AC COULD I consider this SIPAP?
The orders have been placed for this equipment, with education budgeted to start in the new fiscal year. That being said, I plan on doing more educational videos for nursing and respiratory on these therapies and devices. Thank you for your positive feedback. It is quite helpful. I hope to be able to get other educational videos out there soon. I like down and dirty no fluff education. Hopefully that is what I am accomplishing.
Erica is having the same trouble I had a couple months ago. The sound was gone for a couple of days, now it seems to be working. I don't know. Maybe that happens. Maybe there is a glitch on this video. I don't know, but it works currently here.

We currently have the VN500 and the V500 from Drager. The remaining fleet are Servo-i. The intention is to replace the Servo's with Drager over the next 5 years. As far as on line education. Drager has an excellent website, but you have to be a Drager hospital to gain access. It is intensivecareonline (dot) com. Our NICU is in the process of gaining a MD Level III-B status, so, we have been approved for iNO, HFOV and HFJV.
Do you all know the code to the ventilator's service manual? I do, and I have info on how to adjust the default settings as well now. Thanks to an AWESOME simulator I found. YEAH. I found it last Friday. Do I need to tell you how Happy I am?I ALMOST DIED when I realized It was a simulator. A SIMULATOR OF THE BLESSED VN500 Babylog ventilator. IT IS AWESOME. I can simulate IT ALL.
