Absolutely love your photos and some great ideas. I'm heading to Horsey Bay latter year but last time I went, there were a lot of wardens who basically said no going on the beaches (which is fair enough). As a result, I photographed the seals from a long distance and looking down on them which didn't make the most exciting shot. Most shots I see of seals from Horsey are at eye level so I am curious to know how you get on the beach? I'm am definitely for keeping wildlife safe and not scaring them but if I can get those eye level portraits, I would be ecstatic. Any advice or expertise would be hugely appreciated :). (P.S - new subscriber due to how good this video was )
Hello! Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. The beach closure at Horsey is only on during the pupping season, you should be able to get down there now! It's moulting season so there should be a lot of seals back on the beaches. As for the pups, as the season goes on there are usually some up in the dunes, so if people are getting eye level shots at Horsey, that's usually why :)
Great set of photos. Where abouts are you getting these shots as the beach at Horsey Gap is closed at this time of year. Is there a part of the dunes that’s level with the beach?
Thank you! It's at a different location, however I can't really divulge where it is, as running workshops there is part of my job. I'll be running 2 or 3 weeks of workshops there next year, so if you're interested, feel free to sign up to my mailing list to stay up to date 👍 www.marchumphrey.com/mailing-list
