Guys, you just watched the best BLACKPINK documentary on UA-cam, I'm so glad I subscribed. Your comments and discussions are intelligent and it's fun to watch new BLINKS (yes, you're BLINKS now!) understand what the girls went through and why they're so special. BLACKPINK is unique though, in the K-Pop world. A group normally debuts, and if they chart well (those TV shows you saw are weekly and the top 3 current groups perform their new songs) then they release two or three "comebacks" (comebacks are new songs) a year and/or a full album. BLACKPINK debuted with only TWO songs, then three months later another TWO. After that it was nine months before they released ONE song, then a year before they released FOUR songs. Then ten months with another FOUR. So in over three years they've only released thirteen songs, which is unheard of in the K-Pop world. The media has written articles about this, as practically every song they release is a hit.

In Korea they have Music shows that every week they choose the number one (based on views, sales and voting (thats were the numbers)) is something like Billboard Hot 100! They also have different award shows in Korea and Asia too!
Actually they come from a very big "Controlling" company that forbiddens them a lot of things (drinking, dating, piercing, tattoing, plastic sergery) because in Korea one scandal can lead into bankruptcy of the company and fans are very mad because they still don't have a full album and all the time we have to wait a year for a comeback (new album).

About the numbers in the shows basically when a group releases a song they will promote on TV shows during promotion, on the shows t wo other groups or solo artists will compete in that show and during the show they get judged on the singing the performance and the final score I think is a mixture of Judges votes, songs sales and audience votes which makes up the final number that you see and decides who wins:)

The times they are talking about are the training days for almost 6 years.
Their company(yg) is one of the biggest and strict companies in korea and their training period is always too insane unfortunetly.
They are not making their dances or songs but they do participate in some songs like Stay.
The youngest is 22 years old and oldest 24.
Not all of them are korean or lived in korea for example Lisa is from Thailand and didn't know any korean before coming to korea.
Also Rose is korean but she lived in Australia all her life till coming to korea so she is really fluent in English.
Jennie lived in New zealand(sorry if i typed wrong) so she is fluent too.
Jisoo is the most korean person of group and speaks least english.
So in their case maybe their company wasn't small and they didn't had hard times financially but the amount of stress and the fear of maybe after 6 years they still won't be able to debut etc. was the hardships they faced.
