    I love the small salon dining table. Sure if you are only going to cruise the Caribbean where you frequently invite 10 drunks onto your boat every night at anchorage, then you would need a banquet table for 12 such as the one on the 40 foot Dragonfly. But this one, makes outstanding sense. As is everything else on this boat, SO SMART!

    Very nice boat, but mate. That couple just wrote the book on how to design and love your boat. Amazing people, amazing boat. It was like going to the movies. I appreciate watching this video. Mr Holland you are one lucky guy to have those 2 ladies in your life!

    I must say, this is without doubt, THE best sailing yacht video I have ever seen. Kudos! Yacht Brokers take note. This is how it should be done. I bet this boat sold in a second. What a beautiful boat.

    Just a question way to late to be relevant, but why is the pre-luber switch down in the nav station and not up in the cockpit where you are going to actually start the engine? Otherwise................
    Love your boat, love your boat. Not well done, but EXCELLENTLY DONE! Best gosh golly presentation and most genius level outfitting on the web!

    Great vid, wonderful boat. I especially appreciate the overbuilt power system. A lot of people don't properly understand the science of batteries and power draw. This guy obviously does. Also, props on the custom designed bowsprit, Ingenious. Hope it sold well for you guys.

    Wow! Tremendous boat! You made some great choices, as you already know. I hope someone, who can appreciate this boat as much as you, bought her from you. Innovation, common sense, worst case scenario planning, and what appears to be impeccable upkeep!...this is/was someone's dream boat. Thanks for the great video. It clearly was produced with the same attention to detail as you gave your boat. Semper Fi! You would have been good Marines!

      I wish you would tell some of the stories of your passages! With such a craft and persons that love the seas, the tells would be as wonderful as the vessel and her crew.

    for a newbie, it would take weeks to comprehend all the fabulous information on this video. If you could break it all down to about 10 videos it would make even a new sailor a more comfortable sailor. It's obvious you really know what you're talking about but a bit much to absorb for a someone without the technical knowhow. Beautiful boat and so well equipped for blue water sailing.

    Beautiful boat and really good made video. Can you tell me who made your hard dodger and Bimini?

    • @phillipholland6468
      @phillipholland6468 8 років тому +3

      Dodger: I did the design and most of the metal SS construction/polishing (except the TIG welding). Speciality aspects like bending and installing the lexan panels requires large temp-controlled ovens and skilled craftsmen. For that I constructed custom molds and then contracted the work out in New Zealand. NOTE: Its very dificult to find shops experienced in custom bending lexan at a reasonable cost.....thus most hard dodgers use flat panels.
      Binini: I did the design and hired out the SS frame construction. Lots of marine canvas shops in US are familiar with WaveStopper fiberglass hard tops(on both Bimini & Dodger) which can be custom made to order at reasonable cost.

    HI Guys! I don't know if you are monitoring this video anymore. WOW Thank you for the walk through! Of course it was a video to sell the boat, but I gave me SO MANY ideas for my 42’ Gibson Houseboat.
    I do have a question. Those that know me HATE my questions, but here it is: Why are boat mattresses split??? This drives me crazy. My back is sensitive and these areas tend to catch my arm or hip.
    Anyway, just thought maybe a smart boater would know…
    Fair winds and following seas…

      Ron Westad
      Mattresses are split to allow better access to storage areas underneath. You can always change that by installing a mattress ot your choice.

    Can you say more about the batteries? Type, brand, dimensions, amp hours? Difficulty of tailoring boat to fit them? Thanks and good luck. Is there a next boat coming?

    • @philipholland2611
      @philipholland2611 9 років тому +2

      Batteries are lead acid wet cells. There are multiple companies who make them and they come in standard dimensions so one brand is interchangeable with another. The battery is made from 6 individual 2 volt cells, each 24 inches high and weighing 220 pounds (100Kg) connected in series to get 12 volts. Due to their height & weight, you need to consider not only where you put them from a structural perspective but also how you can safely maneuver then into place. If done properly (as these were) you should be able to install and manage them as easily as any other battery on the boat.

    • @philipholland2611

      I constructed the dodger myself in New Zealand. My dream dodger has proven to be both attractive and extremely well constructed....doubt you'll ever see another like it.

    Does it have a davit and does it interfere with the wind vane?

    • @phillipholland6468
      @phillipholland6468 8 років тому +2

      +TVCanT Davits are great for coastal cruising when you are using the dingy regularly but they are risky for offshore sailing where you can get slammed by big seas. The risk is losing the dingy and/or ripping a hole in the hull. Davits definitely would interfere with the wind vane steering by changing the wind flow on the vane sail.
