I love being a member of this community and a part of the TPI stream team, but the way Ben handled that moment and really that whole day, I’m glad to call him a friend and a colleague in this weird internet job we both do.
I'm not sure Jams could have realistically come out as Goblin and won, even if the good team had pushed on them on a night they knew they were sober. There's no reason for a spent balloonist to come out as goblin, so it would've meant outed evil, and there'd be little reason to out as evil unless they were the host and could not afford to die. As such, the good team would just have to do their best to kill the poisoner - pretty easy, when the demon isn't killing and the town has tons of time - and then kill Jams. Remember that the goblin transform was meant to be a defense against a Snake Charmer. In the case of a successful charm, Ekin would almost certainly rat out his former minions, and Jams would be an _unwillingly_ outed evil, who would then have a very real chance of being executed early (as a minion, not a host) and no incentive _not_ to claim Goblin. What really won the game there was Jams being such a convincing balloonist that the town never considered they might be an evil host giving out true info, such that they were willing to let it come down to Jams + a demon + a character who can't nominate. (That, and a huge dollop of ST coaching, which I hope the good players in this game were more okay with than I am. I realise it made for good content, but it really felt like it crossed a line that shouldn't be crossed.)
@@mikepictor No, they would only be a slayer in a Lleech game, as if the person they nominate is NOT the demon, is the person immediately killed. If they manage to nominate the Demon, then a vote happens.
Man, N1 Jacqui put poison on le poisson. Impressive. For those that don't know, poisson is fish in french, and poison is poison in french, but is pronounced differently, as in basically the same as poisson except that poison has more of a z sound while poisson has an s sound.
PSA in response to the Twitch chat, air conditioning is not a luxury. A lot of Europeans are resistant to the idea because it's not needed outside of heat waves. Over the last two years though, at least in France where it's been hotter than the UK, people have been dying. When temperatures reach 35C/95F, vulnerable populations such as the elderly are at risk of heat injury. A reliable single room window unit starts around 200 USD and can save lives.
widespread AC usage also increases the ambient temperature even more in densely populated areas... and it uses a load of electricity... its literally a bandaid that accellerates the problem its trying to bandaid...
I was getting ready to say that it was a shame that there weren’t any more viable leech hosts going into the final couple of days, because I was expecting an outed evil kinda scenario in the end, and maybe the good team would’ve pivoted onto someone else had the alive good not been mechanically confirmed, however it took a big 180 on the last night lol
Ok, Earlier I talked about the Sailoring being an outsider, but now I'm thinking demonic outsider! "Hey, I didn't die during a vote and now everyone thinks I'm the Lleech!!". But my view of them has gone up for sure.
I think the day Ekin was Sailor drunk, it would have been an interesting play to claim being Snake-charmed, give up both of his minions, insist that they should execute Jams immediately, because a Pit-Hag's a huge risk, and then select a different host the following night, possibly returning the "favor" to Skilz? I know it could back-fire on a Goblin claim, but Ekin had no way of knowing the Pit-Hag change at that point, and since Dakota was believed as Alchemist-Goblin, there's a good chance the town wouldn't buy Jams' Goblin claim, which would make it an instant win. High risk, etc, but so much wonderful chaos.
P.S. Yes, what actually ended up happening is better. Sometimes you have to let go of intentional chaos for unintentional chaos to happen. But I'm still hoping to see a fake Snake Charmer claim from a Lleech some day.
I still feel that nomination based effects like butler and golem should have a confirmation aspect to them to ensure theyre doing their intended effect even when the player with those roles forgets. I dont know how much it would break the balance for the storyteller to say that a confirmed golem cant nominate if they tried but personally I feel like it would be better for the overall experience, same with subtracting a vote from the final count if the butlers master doesnt vote when the butler tries to
You shouldn't subtract a vote if the butler votes apart from their master (there are reasons sometimes that this isn't even against the rules - if the butler votes first and their hand is up with the master, but the master drops their hand later in the vote). However if it is a deliberate cheating vote then damage their team another way rather than hard confirming them. I've seen an ST drop in a Deus Ex Fiasco for this reason (I think they treated the Empath as drunk for a night).
I love when Nicky tries to meta Ben over and over and over and is wrong every time. No wonder Nicky calls Ben evil every game😈 love you Nicky. Any game with you in it is worth watching
Why do good players do this to themselves so often! "We should kill Jams today" ... three days later "We should kill Jams tonight" "Yeah but what if we kill someone else just to clear this weird case"... Also the sailor not drinking with the golem at the end seems odd. It really was their only chance of winning at that point and he blew it.
48:30 I am screaming BEN NO because goblin would be drunk for the rest of the game and no one will believe in second goblin anyway but night with no kill is strange I mean the only way you can go with it if no one believe that sailor drunked demon which is kinda NOT what storyteller would do normally Because of length of the video, it was fine, but im still screaming
There should be a consequence for a Golem nominating when they shouldn't. I'd say a generic "something bad happens" so the Storyteller can do whatever they see fit to balance the outcome without it being exploitable.
Dakota was being way too dramatic there. Bit uncomfortable and uncalled for.

This is an emotional/social game and Dakota's emotions are just as valid as any other player's - please try to be more careful, compassionate and kind when commenting on someone's emotions, especially someone you don't know. Please try to remember these players are real people who share a bit of their personality on the internet for your enjoyment out of their kindness and deserve the same kindness from you.
Your not wrong. I was being to dramatic. I apologize for making you uncomfortable as that is the last thing I wanted to do. I can only apologize and say that too dramatic or not, it wasn’t put on. Those were my real emotions, a reaction that came from a build up of three really feel bad games in a row from my perspective. Thank you for being honest, and I hope in the future you will be able to enjoy my addition to these clocktower games
@@DakotaAvery23 Thanks for your reply, there’s no need to apologize to me personally I’m just a random Internet stranger 😊 Was just an observation about the game/video. Feelings are feelings of course! I suppose my point (if any) would be that it’s also good to realize that we’re part of a bigger thing when playing a game with so many people, and the enjoyment of many (both the players as well as the audience in this case) is a factor in determining how we should react to things and how we could best behave ourselves in a way to serve the greater purpose of 10-1000 people having fun, even if a certain play disappoints us as individuals. There’s always a time and place to reflect on a game afterwards with the people involved in a polite and constructive manner! But hey, I’m no saint either. The path to ‘enlightenment’ is a long and winding one. 😊 💜
Ben’s response to Dakota was very heartwhelming. Well done Ben!

@kotaholliday9279 props to you too for processing a clearly hard day so well -- much less while being livestreamed.
Sending love from the future ❤
Ekin gave the same, proper explanation and was clearly not guided there. Another awesome game!
1:27:05 "This is like a Zombuul game's weird, creepy cousin."
Yeah that's pretty much what I was thinking 😂

I felt like the only one was really Ben hinting Jacquie to poison Ekin but that didn't matter anyway because Ekin sunk a kill.
Wow what a game. Was really hoping for the goblin win
You and me both
So, Golem could be a Slayer in a Lleech game. Wow.
They’re a slayer in ANY game if they guess right, no?

What a great game. Good plays from evil and from town, navean had awesome logic in this game
I typed this at final 5 thinking evil was toast…how in the WORLD…that ending is brilliant

Watched this game live, felt so bad for Kota. The ending was an insane play, both well done by evil and a misplay by town.
I was grinning the last 10 minutes. What a game.
What a game, storyteller shenanigans played a huge part though 😂😂
Yeah, but hat last bit was definitely an accident though

Ben is a good friend
42:22 i love this moment
Could they have executed Ekin while he was poisoned? I mean, the "you die if and only if they die" part of their ability would not have worked, right?
Yes, that's exactly how it works. - Ben

Watching the building of the world i got my hopes up for alc pit hag, would be loads of fun for that player imo! 😊
The evil team having access to so much free storyteller tutelage just makes me feel bad for the good team.
Well ekin did handicap the evil team the first chance he got lol.
Yeah I swear the fisherman is supposed to get advice on the game, not the poisoner 😅
Tbf, it had no impact. Ekin made choices that had the same effect

They were able to nominate though. Golem being poisoned allows them to nominate
In a non poisoned situation you just don't treat it like a nomination.

Disappointed Ben kept holding Jacqui and Ekin’s hands.....awful game with Ben obviously biased. Would be pretty upset if I played in this game.
Ekin made his own choices. The only help ekin got was pointing out he was sailor drunk. But if Ekin talked to Jams, he figures that out anyway
