  • My guest for this special two-part episode is Bobby Shew.
Bobby Shew is the real OG (that’s Original Guru!) Bobby is an exceptionally creative improviser and a powerhouse lead trumpet player. But where his stellar talents truly shine is in his role as a problem solver. Bobby’s the guy the pros turn to when they run into chop problems or want to take their playing to the next level. Simply put, Bobby Shew is the man.
Check out what Bobby has to say about his insatiable desire to learn, how breathing has always been a problem since childhood, developing along the pathway of creativity, learning to play the trumpet, why he has a library full of anatomy and psychology books, what talent really means, what the main talents a musician needs, fear of making mistakes, the importance of air, and so much more!
So pour yourself a big glass, pull up a chair, and let the hang begin!

Jose that’s gotta be the most well rounded subject coverage. You and Bobby are two geniuses and I know trumpet players are smart, they have ego runaway sometimes. Hey guys let’s do what Bobby and Jose are doing-being human! Hey Jose you should run down the Phoenix horns, tower of power, Jon Faddis.

There are several talks with Bobby Shew on YT. This one is perhaps one of the best.
Having been to several clinics with Bobby and to concerts, it has always been exiting. In addition to his musicianship his love for knowledge is also exiting.
Btw, I also have parts of neandertal (2.6 %) and also denisovan in my genome. ;-)

Thank you! My goal is to give artists an opportunity to share their experiences in a slightly different format. It's always been my belief that understanding who a person is, what they think, and why they do what they do is much more important than the technical how questions that we usually tend to ask. And personally, I think Bobby should have his own weekly show! Of course that would probably reduce my audience 🤣

😱 omg! Heard of Bobby Shew because he lend his name to Yamaha horn, but I never thought he was soooo knowledgeable. I learned a lot. Please more questions about the physics of the trumpet and some technical ,equipment and mecanics stuffs 🤓🙏🏾 on PART2 - PART3 !
