- My guest for this episode is Ryan Chapman
Ryan is a Miami-based trumpet player, arranger, composer, and educator. Known for his amazing power and control of the upper register of the trumpet, Ryan is more than a high-note jockey. Ryan is also a very insightful and intuitive teacher. Ryan has used his years of troubleshooting his own playing and equipment problems to create an effective approach that helps players of all levels make breakthroughs in their playing.
Check out what Ryan has to say about staying busy during the pandemic, working on his arranging chops, writing his dissertation on the role of the glottis in trumpet playing, why relaxing your throat doesn't work, the importance of boiling a problem down to the essentials, finding the right equipment for the job, and so much more!
So pour yourself a big glass, pull up a chair, and let the hang begin!
