Michael Che should be more concerned about being one of the HEAD WRITERS of a show that is UNREASONABLY unfunny.

Che is "on top" cause he's the head writer during SNLs worst era?
Interesting take.
I know, who tf views SNL as the top?! Dude must be from NY.
I don’t and have never watched SNL regularly (I’m 35) because I’ve NEVER found it funny. I can’t even come off the top with a specific sketch that sticks out to me unless it’s the times that Chappelle has been on there.
It’s too soft. It rarely pushes the envelope. If a huge majority gives you a pass (a la FOX/ SNL) you’re not doing comedy right. IMO.
Comedy should make you not only laugh, but think, reassess your stances on topics, and even educate you.
I never understood why SNL was so popular other than it was the only sketch comedy consistently shoved down people’s throats.
SNL definitely isn’t good, which makes sense when you have so many cooks in the kitchen and five days to create a 90 min show that is performed live. But do you really think Dillon wouldn’t jump at the chance to appear on SNL? He knows it’s not a possibility but if it was, he would definitely do it.
@@SallyMankus130 I'm not sure he would, unless he went on to make fun of the show.
SNL just doesn't have the star power is once had because of the many other alternatives ways young comedians can get a stage. It used to be all about getting on SNL or Second City (or the Daily Show to a lesser degree) to get noticed, but now with the internet and podcasts, talented comedians don't have to depend on SNL.
@@kpeezyforsheezy SNL is responsible for launching the careers of some of the funniest people, but since the rise of the internet and podcasts (aka an alternative way for comedians to get exposure), they haven't attracted the talent they used to.
Now, the best comedians completely avoid SNL (except maybe to host once in a while).
Andrew saying comedians can 'make fun of your jeans or hair, but not your act ' is why most newer comedians aren't anywhere as good as the older ones.
Case, when Patrice O'Neal threw a phonebook on stage during kevin hart's act and said 'Read it, it'll be funnier than the shit you're doing now'.
Yeah it’s a since I wouldn’t necessarily think he would take!?!
That comment stunned me, especially as he started his career during the near end/peak of that era and knew Patrice.
They did something called “hack court” and would brutally make fun of everyone’s most hacky or corny joke. It definitely makes them better comedians. Even Patrice got roasted.
That reminds me of Patrice saying roast master general Jeff Ross is like the Sasquatch, we’ve all heard of the legend… but has anyone actually seen it?
That fear of being called a hack brought us Bill Burr and Kevin Hart. I just wish Patrice was here to comment on little Kev’s last special. 🤐

He probably does get pissed when people say that but people have been publicly saying SNL wasn't funny for a while now with no responses from Che on Twitter. Yeah he'll talk about it when asked or during a one on one convo but when's the last time that he got on Twitter to address any of the hundreds of comedians who say SNL isn't funny anymore on a daily basis? actually ye, good take 👍
I thought it was tate who was saving people from the matrix? 😂😂😂
Tim's not wrong though. For the longest time SNL has been forging templates for reoccurring sketches that have an easy out and their original sketches follow this same method without the template.
The Californians sketch, for example, only needs people talking about specific navigation, breaking character, and ending with everyone in the room looking at the camera through a tall mirror. You could effortlessly produce that each week and they have lots of sketches like that on the ready.

Hes not THE Head Writer... he's head writer... its a rank, like general in the military. There are several people there with that title. It just means they get paid more than other writers.
Being a head writer at SNL means you have to bow down to Lorne Michaels and his corporate bosses or you are gone.
Joe Rogan once tried to pull the "you can't make accusations without proof" line on Tim about Gates & Tim had Jamie feed him some humble pie for it. Rogan bit aside, beta Che never stood a chance.
As a TD fan, I wasn't gonna watch Che's special before and I am not gonna watch it now. I doubt many will either. So it's really not as 3D chess move as he thought lol. Did anyone even watch Pete Davidson's special? He is much much more famous than Che and I don't think many watched his special.
bro dont be a weirdo. Tim isnt your friend, if you want to laugh watch comedy. You dont need to pick sides, thats childish. Im also a TD fan and Ill listen to che or who ever else because I want to be entertained
Hmm, that’s interesting. Now that you brought it up I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone bring up Pete’s special and I’ve been doing stand up for 3 years regularly.
@@nothing-to7iy exactly! what does this dude think is going to happen if he doesn't watch Che's special in some bizarre 'support'? Tim Dillon is going to send him a thank you card and become his bff? Haha
Andrew and Michael Che seem very sensitive about critique. "Oh no you used trigger words!"
Why do people think Che is funny? His jokes are literally one dimensional….
Tim is on point. If Che's special ain't good, dude can take an L on this one.
Tim Dillon > SNL
Let's Go Brandon! And F SNL
Che isnt funny though. TIm wins
You go to DJ Tiesto concerts so I don't think your opinion of comedy can be trusted.
I just went and watched that SNL clip & god I wish I had those 6 minutes back
Tim billion can do no wrong in my eyes.
8 years..
Nobody knows che's name. think about how bad that is. He does the most recognizable segment on SNL and nobody knows the guy.
Tim is lightyears ahead of him.
I wish SNL give tim dillon a chance of co director
Tim Dillon is my father. He’s a good man.
Tim > SNL no question
