My pleasure. Optimal height would have to be a min of 1 inch. You want the wheel to sit above the guitar necks. So an inch and above should be fine. If you follow the messurments you will get it the right height.
@@FilmMastersChannel Thank you! My construction of guitar necks will be slightly different due available materials. I rather worry wouldn't the wheel be too high.
@@andriikuzmenko3280 No need to worry, if the Hurdy Gurdy wheel is too low you wont be able to pick up the strings. But if you aim for around 1 inch it will be fine. The original one that Mark Korven has sits almost 2 inches high. But if you follow my messurments on the wheel size then everything will fit. If you are custom making it you will need to work out the wheel placment on your frame. Hope that helps :)
Great tutorials! I just finished my frame and I'm starting the hurdy wheel! I purchased the 5/16 threaded rod, but wasn't sure the size of the hollow bearing rod you used in your build? 1/2? Thank you so much for making these videos! best,
I went to the hardware store with the threaded rod and simply went to the metal section and looked for a aluminum tube that the rod fit nicely. Can be copper or brass pipe also. You could make a plastic bearing. Sorry just seen your comment so hopefully I haven't held up your build :)
Someone has a keen eye. Don't worry it's not a real one and definitely not a live one . It's a prop Mk 2 grenade based on a WW2 made from 1918 to 1950's by the US army. I will be making a tutorial on how to make a prop one soon thus why it's sitting there waiting for me to start on it ;)

Great tutorial - my frame will be finished today! huzzah!
Nice. Have you finished the build yet?
Can't wait to see the final product!
It's going to sound pretty scary :D Hope you are building one also
@@FilmMastersChannel actually, yeah! I've been thinking about it, but maybe a smaller version, not sure
You can buy smaller reverb tanks so it’s definitely something you can build on a smaller scale
Superb.. Excited for 8th part
Part 8 is being released on Saturday (in Australia) so Friday in the US :)
@@FilmMastersChannel amm from India 😊
Just joined the FB group, can't wait to build one. Thank you for a detailed tutorial!
My pleasure and welcome to the Nightmare Machine forum community group. Enjoy the build :)
Michael, thank you for great tutorials! Could you recommend optimal height of the wheel above the soundboard?

So just your videos aren't loading. Any other video on any other channel is fine but yours have stopped working
That is weird. No one else has mentioned this. Maybe clear your cache and see if it plays again
