- Wow what a chorus. This man’s voice has to much power it’s crazy. The riffs in this are going off too! The guitarist killed it in this song. The riff has been stuck in my head since I listened to this, and I can’t stop yelling “GREAT WAR!”

I agree, First Soldier is a great song and also, it's the only song where the music was written by someone else than Joakim (Tommy Johansson wrote the music). Joakim always writes the music, alone or with someone else (usually one of the guitarists)
Best part about the song (aside from the song itself) is that it never specifies whose side their talking about
the song can be about every soldier during the war
The parade is in Pilsen, Czech republic, and it is a celebration of the end of the WW 2

The entire album . along with 2022's The War To End All Wars, are WW I stories.

All Sabaton songs are great, why not the one that started them down the history metal path: Primo Victoria (Normandy, 6/6/44). "Great War" is the ultimate song about the futility and horror of WW1 trench warfare, as well as the total stupidity of the generals on the Allied side. You should check out their tour vlogs on their channel to see more of their lives. Great reaction and keep rocking.

They played at the 2019 Liberation Festival in Plzeň in Czech Republic. It's a celebration of the Americans liberating the town in ww2.
Sabaton does a lot of stuff like that, they visit museums, battlefields, cemetaries, veterans, meet family members of people they sing about etc. And they do a lot of (increasingly) high quality vlogs & "docs" on their normal Sabaton youtube channel. And then there is the separate Sabaton history channel for the short (15-20min) history docs.
2023 Sabaton lineup:
Joakim Brodén, 1999- (lead vocals, keys, some guitars, song writing , lyrics, "music director" of the band. Joined the band as an original member, age 18-19 as a keyboard player, but as he wrote their songs and they had no singer the other guys said "you'll sing until we find a singer". They soon decided that Joakim was their frontman, even though he had not sung before Sabaton. He has no formal singing training. He has always been the main song writer in Sabaton. He also does a lot of work in the studio. He also writes the lyrics with Pär, as they are the history nerds in the band. He can play (at least) guitar, bass guitar, Hammond organ and church organ, piano.
Pär Sundström, 1999- (bass, lyric wrinting, backing vocals, band manager, the "practical" side of running a band. Original member.)
Chris Rörland, 2012- (guitar, graphic design, some song writing with Joakim, backing vocals)
Hannes Van Dahl, 2013- (drums, some song writing with Joakim, backing vocals. Married to Floor Jansen of Nightwish. Hannes & Floor met when both Sabaton & ReVamp were in 2014 supporting Iced Earth on a USA tour.)
Tommy Johansson, 2016- (guitar, some song writing with Joakim, backing vocals. Has also his own side projects (+ a youtube channel).)
