Talking about weird things we used to do/think when we were kids: I used to think that there were dwarves who worked underneath the traffic lights controlling them behind cameras. My dad used to wave at the traffic lights and I would wave too, thinking there were people watching.
About rings, I love to wear them. My thing, I wear green nail polish. I've been obsessed with green since I was a kid. If I wear a different color or have no polish, I feel like I'm naked or weird. About waiters, my family enjoyed going to a Mexican restaurant, the waiter would bring out dishes from his shoulder to the arm full of dishes, but never dropped any. We were so impressed.
My partner also does not like wearing a ring but he does it because he knows how important it is to me, and the sacred commitment it represents. He's not great with expressing his love and appreciation for me due to alexithymia but I know when I see him wearing his ring that he really does love, respect and cherish me. He takes it off every day to shower and always remembers to put it back on. I appreciate that so much. These days, he says he can barely tell it's on. I think it's just something you get used to. I did make sure to get us fairly thin rings as well so it's less obtrusive and obvious to wear. I think that helps for people that don't like the feeling.

My partner also does not like wearing a ring but he does it because he knows how important it is to me, and the sacred commitment it represents. He's not great with expressing his love and appreciation for me due to alexithymia but I know when I see him wearing his ring that he really does love, respect and cherish me. He takes it off every day to shower and always remembers to put it back on. I appreciate that so much. These days, he says he can barely tell it's on. I think it's just something you get used to. I did make sure to get us fairly thin rings as well so it's less obtrusive and obvious to wear. I think that helps for people that don't like the feeling.
