This brought back memories of the things I had as a small kid. Sure the 90s werent nearly as neat as the years before but I still loved playing with things that made you use your imagination or a friend, unlike so many things today that take the u out of fun

I bought my brother one of those water rockets when we were in our twenties (no, I'm not saying when that was.) We stood outside the garage where we worked and tried it out. It shot off vertically, so fast we missed it going and was out of sight before we could look up to follow. 'Well, that's the last we'll see of that!' We stood chatting for a bit and then started to go back in. It reappeared, crashing onto exactly the spot we'd been standing. It being a concrete surface we were sure it was now certainly destroyed. It was fine. Steve still has it somewhere. I bet it still works.

That's a great story! As I was reading it, I thought you were going to say it hit you in the head :-) I remember the distinct sound it made when it blasted off. This new model was quite a disappointment. I'll have to keep my eyes open for an original. The rubber washer may need to be replaced...or maybe not. Probably will still work as it is. Take care Mark!

We weren't a bunch of wimps. We were lucky though surviving the things we did. At least I was lucky. My mom said I had no fear.

No Green Ghost game? You only play it at night - hold its board up to the ceiling light - to play the game you then turn off the lights, because the game board would GLOW in the dark - I can't remember, were there 3, or 4 "graves" you reach into? One had "spider webs" in it (feathers), another had "snakes" in it ( rubber bands) and the other had "bones" in it ( small plastic pieces) - so yeah the board had ...3 graves? You open each one with a big, black key...
Hadn't played it in a long time, its board got cracked ...

Does anyone remember a toy was was made of cubes and tubes that you would assemble, and then let a plastic ball run through it?

Had one of those Merlin games you displayed. Been trying to find a bicycle race game. I think it was called the Tomy Moto motor cross or something like that. I is one of the earliest games I had that I remember. Not many working examples left I suppose.

Hey Tom, I loved the wind up toys and the rockets. You're right. The fear of law suits has ruined toys. I shot off a lot of rockets with and blew up several chemistry sets. It was great fun! Thanks for the video.
