      Isn't there a giant frog on it? I don't think that many people with periods are in such a rush to think that something brown and weirdly enough without a string is a tampon.

    Canada eliminated the federal tax on tampons in 2015 (about time). There are also organizations campaigning to address period poverty especially in specific groups, such as women who live in the Northern Territories where everything costs exponentially more. Why they were ever deemed a "luxury" is beyond my comprehension.

    My period affects my body temperature so my body can overheat, but I still have to go to work in an overheated shop, where I regularly feel like I’m going to pass out. When I told a colleague this was happening, the reaction was a clearly uncomfortable ‘oh. OK. Right.’

    Wow, these comments. Yet again, as a man, I'm just stunned at how many men seem to hate women. I don't know why, but comments sections seem like those scenes in the Indiana Jones movies where he ends up saying "I hate (rats/snakes/nazis/etc)". There's just a swarm of them in anything that relates to women, wanting to attack and vilify. It's horrible how they hurt others, but how sad for them to see the women they obviously desire as the enemy.

    Couple of things bugging me about this. Firstly just how many tampons did she waste making that dress, when the whole point of the film was about women not being able to afford them? Secondly how the fuck can she compare a period to being kicked in the balls for 8 hours straight? She has no idea how much pain that causes a man, the same as no man has any idea how much period pain hurts so comparing the 2 in this way is ridiculous

    • @yokie52
      @yokie52 6 років тому

      You really cannot imagine the pain. When I was young, I would shiver, vomit, diarrhea, on top of the cramps which are very painful. A friend of mine would pass out from the pain. When I was in labor with my first child, I told my husband, this isn't much worse than period cramps - just more of an area from uterus being enlarged. Imagine if you had to go to school, work, socialize, etc. and once a month you had debilitating pain.

    • @Widdekuu91
      @Widdekuu91 11 місяців тому

      I can answer those two.
      First off, just because she bought them, did not suddenly made the tampons more expensive to poor families. She is asking attention for the problem with that dress.
      Second, a girl in my class thought she had her period and dealt with it for a week until she fainted and when she woke up, she was in the hospital, because her appendix had burst.

      Gender is girl, boy, nonbinary person, etc. Sex is male, female, intersex. People of any gender can have periods, as long as they have a vagina. Maybe she should've said something like "the parts they were born with" instead, but this video is, well, slightly cisexist since she's only talking about "girls" and forgetting the many trans people of other genders who have periods.

    Has anyone in comments mentioned the elephant in the room at the end of the well written informative video? You don't keep tampons in uterus, you insert them into vagina. Uterus is a bit higher and you leave it alone. Please, do not insert anything into your uterus. Is it ok to say uterus and period, but still not ok to name the correct body part you use tampons for?

    How does she know how painful it is for men to be kicked in the balls? That violence towards men is funny right? But any violence toward women isn't. That's the thinking.
    What particularity shite about this is how comedians are ditching their trade in comedy to debate social issues instead. Getting rid of the tax seems an obvious idea. Being in the EU has fucked us on that for years. Other than that, if you live in the UK go here:

    Never had an issue in talking about jam rags, strawberry lollipops and scrambled egg. Went down on a bird once who told me she was over it and it was safe to go back into the murder scene. Found out she hadn't worked it right and got an extra meal which wasn't as good as the rest of the dinner and had to spit it out. Luckily she wasn't one of them who shaves completely so had some floss to deal with the clot. Nothing to do with this but never understand those women who have Brazilian's for their partner. Women are supposed to have some hair down there. Any man who wants a bird with none and tells their partner to go bald down there are basically weird. Makes you wonder why they want a gash that looks prepubescent. Fine if the woman chooses it herself for hygiene purposes. I remember as a kid in the eighties, I found a razzle mag and nearly all had a bush. Some had that much you needed a machete to get to the entrance of the mine. In another mag which I forget the name of it, one woman had platted hers into tiny dreads. Me and my mate was in stitches.

      Well tampons need to be changed pretty often- I'd say 3 a day to be safe and can't be in all night safely so you need a night pad then, you also need pain meds and spare pants for if they start suddenly and extra food for the energy loss. You also need these things for up to 7 days, sometimes longer if they're starting irregularly. So yeah, £30 a month is pretty good pricing. I'm pretty sure I paid more than that when I was starting.

      @Fortnite is gay.
      Toiletroll doesn't absorb all the blood. Some girls use it as an emergency 4-minute solution, on the hunt for menstrualpads if they're about to bleed through.
      But you can defineately not substitute pads with toiletpaper.
      Also, (just additional...not necessary info) toiletpaper causes your downside to be covered in sticky-with-blood red snippets of toiletpaper. It kindof becomes a pulp after a while.
      Just imagine sticky water and toiletpaper together, and then red.

    The whole "tampons are too expensive" thing is interesting, but you really can't argue about the pain. I went to school with a 40° fever and have been suffering regularly from slipped disks. Pain is just a fact of life.

    • @nadiar.4638
      @nadiar.4638 7 років тому +11

      Meridian Herschel yes cause that is the same pain as constantly feeling as if you are getting stabbed in stomage. For three to seven days. All day and night. Feeling tired from not being able to sleep cause of the pain. I personaly also always get a fever the first two days. Headaches. Backpain. My feet feel swollen. Hormones everywhere My legs get heavy. Not being able to stand cause of the pain. And they still expect me to be able to teacha class of 30 fourteen years olds. Without wanting to rip their heads off.
      I have backpains now for almost four years. Everyday almost all the time. And still my period is what keeps me awake and hurts me the most, cause it is not constant and just when you sort of forget the stabbing begins again.
      People shouldnt underestimate the pain women are in when on their period. Like its just something that is part of life. But when someone has other pain, then the entire world has to stop to make them more comfortable

      moonwalker4696 personally, I find having a period can really interfere with my life. Every single time I'm on my period and in school my friends are concerned; I am as pale as a ghost, my head stings, I physically cant concentrate, the world is blurry, I have intense pain in my upper legs, my back and stomach hurt so much that I have almost been sick from pain and I am shaking. There are times when i have to take really strong pain killers yet I still feel in quite a lot of pain. I'm 16, not sexually active but my parents are considering putting me on the pill in the hopes that it will reduce my symptoms. My best friend is exactly the same as me and my Aunty used to have it so bad she physically could not be in school on some occasions, and trust me she has a high pain threshold.
      What I'm saying is, for some people, constantly being kicked in the balls is a pretty accurate equivalent. Periods really do vary from person to person as my other friend has no pain, it lasts about three days and she only gets it every three months.
