I've always thought of making an "Arcane sheildsman". In the left hand a shield and in the right a destruction spell. I'd say to go for the Archmage's robes with heavy gauntlets and boots. They could be evil or good, but it depends on what you want the character to be. Do the college of winter hold, the main quest, dawnguard, and Dragonborn. Go for an Imperial or Breton, but an elf could work, too, you would have to change the backstory. I would be a male, but you can be female if you want. The backstory is rough, but I'd say this: The father of the character was a soldier and taught him how to use a shield, but before he could teach him how to use a blade, he was called off to fight in the Great War. this is some straight up awesome gameplay. i always played as a breton because they were the only race i could whittle down to look like myself, always played a sneak, loved summoning but it always revealed where i was to the enermies, i also used summon dual swords for close combat, summon bow for range. i like your character because it's basically the female version of my character

Thanks for the awesome build! So glad the builds are coming back! Keep up the amazing work!
Love the concept of this build but I've never been crazy about the aesthetics. Works for the back story but I'd like to see light armor, like hide, and the Mage hoods so the archer side of the arcane archer isn't neglected. Love u fudgemuppet.

i made a similar build years ago in oblivion, but with more magic (alteration open locks spell.... comeback) and in skyrim i made some changes. more use of magic. Sneak is important for the 3x damage perk, archery perks (of course), ilusion for invibility and quiet casting, conjuration for the bound bow and the perk that increases the damage of it, and destruction for those marks that explode, creating traps, and the augment perk for the element of choice. with this you sneak, you kill, and within castles and caves with narrow passages you put one of those marks and retreat througth that way if, for some reason, thing are going bad, hide in a safe place and cast invisibility. Or, if thats the only escape route and the enemy flees, BOOM. but the perks and the skills are so many. 7 or 8 perks on sneak, depending if you use the spell that silences your movement, 14 perks on archery, going on the left side but taking all the crit perks, 7 on ilusion for quiet casting and half invisibility, 6 on conj, and 5 on destruction... a very high build
I really love this playstyle! When Skyrim Remaster comes out I'm definitely gonna try this one out with a few tweaks! I think that her backstory of leaving everything she could have had behind would fit more with a rebellious personality. Someone who doesn't care what anyone thinks of her, and has a thirst for danger. The thieves guild seems perfect for her as a stark contrast to the nobility she came from. Plus I love having the Skeleton Key :3 Are there any good mods for this particular build?
Here's an idea for a build: The nightmare. Backstory: the nightmare was a normal dark elf boy living in a village in morrowind. His family weren't really religious but they lived a happy life all the same. It was at the age of ten the young boy saw a group of older boys playing a prank on an elderly woman. As our character watched the the boys jump out on the woman and frighten her he just stood there. He had never seen such a mean trick in his life but for some reason he enjoyed it. For a while he watched this same group of boys played tricks on the other villagers and one day he befriended them. He wanted to learn more about how it was done. After weeks of pranking the boys decided to trick a very young boy who had a fear of water. The group of boys tied the young boy to a mattress and pushed him onto a river whilst he slept. Unfortunately the boy got so scared when he woke up he fell into the river and drowned. As the boys around our character ran in fear the nightmare watched in awe. He was amazed at how fear can cause so many things to happen and how it almost controls peoples lives. He wasn't fazed by the younger boy's death at all but decided to take a break from it anyway. It was years later at the age of 21 when the same urge to scare someone after hearing of an old couple living in a nearby forest in a log cabin. They were the perfect target. When the boy reached the house he went inside as the couple were not home. As the nightmare was looking for a place to hide he uncovered a pile of ancient books. They told of great magic that could be used to scare people greatly and after fumbling through the pages and reading what he could he heard the old couple coming back home. He turned to see them standing behind him... But there was something wrong. They weren't an old couple at all. They smiled at him. "A guest!" The woman said. Her eyes glowing a bright yellowish colour. The husband revealed his eyes that were similar to his wife's. "You're just in time for dinner." Although it was never clear how he escaped, the nightmare somehow managed to. Alone he in the forest he sat there. Sharp teeth, fiery yellow eyes, and two fresh holes in the side of his neck. Now mentally changed forever, the nightmare flees to skyrim with his new addiction. Learning the most powerful spells to manipulate the mind before ripping his victims to shreds. The nightmare wears daedric armour, daedric gauntlets, daedric boots, and ancient nord helmet. All enchanted with stuff to improve his illusion spells and one handed attacks. The nightmare's play style is simple but a lot of fun. Appearing out of nowhere, casting fear spells at everyone he can before chasing them down and killing them. He loves the thrill of cutting apart his victims as the scream in terror.
P.s the nightmare also uses duel wield forsworn axes as well as sneak and invisibility to scare his enemies even more. To maximise his fear factor he will also join the volkihar vampires
One of my favourite builds used Illusion, Alteration, Conjuration, Sneak, Archery, and One Handed to be a kind of Arcane Assassin. Illusion was used to make enemies kill each other, then pacify the survivor so I can just walk up behind them and slit their throat with a Bound Dagger. Alteration for Invisibility and Muffle for getting about during the chaos. Conjuration for the Bound Dagger, a Bound Bow mainly used against dragons, Storm Thralls which are again used against dragons while they're in the air, and Dremora Lords for grounded dragons and to throw in to bandit camps for extra chaos. Oh, and I used Enchanting to make all Illusion and Alteration spells cost 0 Magicka. It was a lot of fun to play with on Master difficulty, to the point where I could just enchant some nice clothing and not have to worry about armour because I very rarely got attacked directly. I used a High Elf for the extra Magicka boost at the start.
Another solid build layout fullas, you should mention the location of the only copy of the bound bow at fort Amol in the northside room with two mages, it's sitting in a bucket in corner of the room with a lantern on top hiding it, for those who want bound bow faster. i find bound bow in vanilla skyrim can be slow to spawn at sellers even with the right conjure stat. cheers
I have an idea for a build, but i'm guessing no one will see this comment. Anyway, it is a Khajiit Warrior using heavy armor and two handed. Pretty standard sounding, I know. This is a modded build, and you will need Ordinator Perk Overhaul, Immersive Weapons, Immersive Armors, and the Racemenu mod. So, to create the character you will need to max out you're character's weight, and in racemenu change their height to 1.08. This is to make them look like a Jaguar, one of the many forms of Khajiit. The Jaguar was doing mercenary work, and was a hardened criminal at his heart. He attacked travelers, stole from merchants, and killed anyone who gave him as much as a funny look. However, as he was trying to rob an old man, the old man was a masterful resturation mage, and infected the Khajiit with a deadly disease, and ran away. As the Jaguar felt his strength leaving his body, how it was withering away, he crawled to the nearest building. A shrine to Talos. As one last effort, the Jaguar prayed to Talos, and he was cured of this disease. From then on he would do everything he could to be just like Talos, and when learning of the ban on Talos worship, he joins the Stormcloaks. This Build is a very speed focused build, despite using heavy armour. You'll also be using no helmet. When first leveling, use the warrior stone, but later on use the steed stone for extra speed. You will be putting most of your points into stamina, and a few into health. This build will utilize the forementioned nodachi's, but will also use a collection of various scrolls found on your journeys. I've been making builds for a while now, but could never stick with one after about an hour or two of play. They just ended up getting really boring for me. I've finally settled on this build for my main playthrough, and i'm having a blast with it. Sorry for long comment
I had a great idea for a build, The Ash Summoner: A no house Dunmer from the City of Blacklight, he/she found him/herself with an aptitude for summoning atronachs, and proceeded to join a local group of mages that were hiding out in Dwarven ruins. He/she learned more about conjuring creatures to aid him/her in fights, as well as a basic ability in Destruction magic, and enchanting to provide funds for the group, over the many months that he/she spent with them, mostly robbing passing caravans of traders for supplies for the group. Eventually this caught the attention of the law, who hired a group of mercenaries to clear out the ruins. As the attack took place, the Summoner mad his/her escape through the many tunnels and found their way to the surface. They decided it would be best to leave the area, and subsequently the whole of Morrowind to avoid an untimely demise. The Ash Summoner made their way to Cyrodil, and tried to sneak across the border to Skyrim. This obviously didn't work out too well as he/she was caught by the Imperials, and taken to Helgan. During the attack by Alduin, the Ash Summoner fled with Ralof through the keep to freedom. The Ash Summoner would clearly have to have a high level in summoning(focusing on atronachs, and possibly the Dremora lord), and a notable skill in destruction, taking a focus into either Fire, Lighting, or both. He/she will also be reasonably trained in Enchanting so they can sell items for a profit, not necessarily focusing on any one form of enchantment. They will have started putting a great deal of levels into their magic skill, and putting some into stamina to allow for more carrying capacity for items. They will also start with the Mage Stone to aid in leveling up their Skills in the beginning, but will change to the Atronach Stone later for a boost to their skills, and a resilience to magicka. He/she would wear Chitin Armor(heavy or light depends on what you prefer) or Morag Tong armor to compliment their criminal past.
I have watched most of your builds but I have not seen many focus on the usage of poisons and archery. I feel that combination could be very effective whether its a one shot kill or using manipulative poisons like frenzy. I see endless possibilities but would like for you guys to expand to this by adding a story and perks like pick pocketing since you could place poisons in pockets that effect people.
Now that my Arcane Swordsman (basically the Arcane Archer except with dual-wielding bound blades) has maxed out his Conjuration, he has started using the bound bow spell to increase his archery. Pretty cool :)
I would like to see a two handed assassin or something like that. A build that looks funny but can also be something valuable. I think it would look interesting. Keep up the good work!
I know you all want to finish these remakes of builds but if you used more magic or perk mods you would have SO many different things to do. The remaster of Skyrim will mean mods for consoles so it is alright to do so now.
Have you guys considered making a Witchunter-esque build? I love the idea of a Mystic Archer, the antithesis of a BattleMage-but I'd like to see more of a rogue factor in there. Maybe instead of full robes introduce Light Armor into the fray, as well as including Destruction, Restoration and Alteration? Not sure if it would be viable, but I'd like to try it
I actually am doing this with my current build: Altmer who was former Dominion soldier, do the Missing in Action Quest to get Elven Armor, all Bound Weapons and focus on Destruction, Alteration, and Illusion with secondary focus on Restoration and tertiary focus on Enchanting.
I know you might have a new build already planned for next time, but please consider my idea, an assassin who focuses on tearing the soul out of her targets with enchantments, I don't really know what kind of back story she would have, but it's just an idea.
I'm not sure if you guys play the game, but if you do have you thought of doing build guides for Elder Scrolls Online? With all the options available between mixing and matching skill, weapon and world abilities there is a large range of possible builds. The downside of course being that since it's an online game you can't just use console commands to quickly level characters and the like, so capturing video footage of your builds in action would be more difficult.
I'm going to use the aetherial crown on mine with the atronach stone and Lord stone to counter the low defense. As well as a bit of mid teir restoration spells.
Simply put, this build is awesome fun to play. Downside, on xb1 sometimes bound arrow lags while casting causing death on harder modes. Or the weapon does not fire at all. Sorta sucks when you try stealth kill but bound arrow runs out and your arrow bounces off your target or gets fired just to bounce behind you because your spell has run out of time. Great build. But have a lot of patience if on xb1
I like this build a lot! Can you do a horse riding build? Battle Axes with bleed and fire damage (damage over time) works best so the enemy keeps it health dropping while you sprint away.
Could you do a sort of time warped build. Using the 3rd form of the slow time shout and the archery skill that slows time when you aim you can basically stop time completely. You could use a bow like zephyr so you can kill everybody in like a second. I would use light armor with sneak and I'm working with it to use all magic with the bound bow.
Interesting build, I'm making a more elaborate version of it (adding illusion for quiet casting, alteration for defense, using gloves as an extra piece for enchantment...). The one question I have: why did you get the expert conjuration perk? Isn't bound bow an adept level spell?
this is the same build I actually play now, only i`m a kajiit, and actually use also bound daggers. curently lv 32. and did not start yet the main quest.
Hahaha that's AWESOME! I accidentally made this exact build playing Skyrim 3 years ago when I found the unbound bow spell book in a bucket in a fortress northwest of the cave you exit after the tutorial!
Not sure if this has been done but how about a headsman/executioner? Battleaxe for decapitation, destruction magic for torture, enchanting for strong axe/clothes enchantments, execution hood from dark brotherhood initiation, blacksmith apron, boots, dark brotherhood member.
how about a bound traveler build? Like bound weapons, healing spells, robes and that it. You will mostly use your spells for everything and hardly carry anything what soever other than the robes, some books, food and keys.
my character is an imperial dragon knight named Gustavo, he professionalizes in blade, block, heavy armor, alteration, conjuration, destruction, and restoration, kind of like a battlemage, he wheres imperial dragon armor, regular legion armor at the start of the game, favors talos and akatosh as his Divines and meridia and sheogorath as his daedric Princes
Id love to see a Dragon Rider build. A late game build about the mutual respect and possibly friendship between the dragon born and Odaviing and parthanax as they go around killing the old dragons so they may start anew as Dragons of peace. This would involve finishing the dragon born dlc before the main game storyline. This builds character could be a Nord with a similar to the vanilla dragon born, but that's your choice. Character wise he/she has no problem killing the power hungry dragons, but does not see it as black and white. They would start off joining the blades but when they ask them to kill parthanax they refuse. Parthanax is trying to do good and they see that. She will become an enemy of the blades she helped rebuild. They are a true friend of the greybeards. The dragon born would almost always open combat by summoning Odaviing. When inside using dragon aspect. The Dragonborn and Odaviing untrusting (as per the quest but the Dragonborn changes the soul of Odaviing.
Dear fudgemuppet I recently found your channel and in no time at all I watched hours upon hours of your builds and let's playds. But now that I finished your oblivion let's playd I only wish that you had finished the main story. I only ask that you consider a complete run through the oblivion Maine story with any build that you come up with. Maybe one similar to this video build but an oblivion version.
Very interesting but I wonder: though the bound bow is an excellent weapon early to mid game since it is basically a daedric bow & arrows, I can't get past the disadvantages of not being able to enchant or improve the bow and having to play the entire game with the same weapon.
You know, you could also use the spell for summoning Arvak from the Dawnguard DLC. As an Archer, you could get around faster... Arvak is faster than Shadowmere, but is incredibly weak. Bound Bow and Arvak plus those Master robes, match. :P
this is very similar to the ethereal hunter build in combat style, apart from summons and heavy armor. this build seemed rather lazy altogether, I still love all your stuff guys please keep up the good work
Wait there's a mod that allows you to have the bound bow but shoot arrows that are infused with frost and other types of magic?! It makes it more of a arcane archer
I decided to add a little flare to this build and gave her some light armor, which procs well with archery. Unhindered coupled with Wind Walker made her a speedy girl. Which is exactly what I wanted. Instead of her being mad at magic in general, she founds that it's actually Destruction she's bad at. So she goes to the college of Winterhold to hone her skill in Conjuration. And she learns to manipulate magic in other ways that isn't just casting a spell. Hence, she begins learning alchemy.
i actually accidentally created a similar build but a high elf instead and as im not creative there is no backstory, and i did the thieves guild quest line and i use the nightingale armor and nightingale sword as a backup, but always use the bound bow
I would grind up block for this build too and take the perks along the bashing side of things. Bow-bashing is a thing and very useful for a pure-archer build. With deadly bash and disarming bash, you can literally beat the living crap out of enemies with your bow and stun them - giving you the time to shoot them in the face.
I feel like this build should be redone with more emphasis on supporting magic like summoning companions or increasing stats via restoration or alternation. There's a lot of emphasis on the archer bit but not the arcane (well, I know there's enchanting but that's more passive than active magic).
Going about this build a bit differently when remastered is released (looks at scratched disc and gets sad). Want to get the achievements before I delve into modding too much. So my arcane archer is joining the volkihar after getting every werwolf perk (for both achievements) and I'll end up joining every faction, getting every shout, home, and dadric artifact.
Skyrim for Xbox 1, is coming with mods added in? Like, we have some mods already added and the others will have to be downloaded? I think it would be nice to see unarmed mod already put into it when fully installed, instead of having to download the mod.
If you guys are still doing Skyrim builds, should remaster this one, by far my favorite
They are. Thankfully. :)
Fudgemuppet: The arcane archer is a 16 year old Breton.

I've never thought of using magic with an archer! Definitely trying this one, love you guys
I swear 50% of builds are children running away from there parents XD
I don't blame them one bit. Medieval style parenting doth truly suck.

Do a talos incarnate build
yes because that isn't lore breaking at all
+Necrowarp There are various moments in the game that could imply the Dragonborn is the reincarnation of Talos, like the ghost who sends you to find Hroki's old sword.

Fallout 4 Mad Max build: Leather armor and sawed off shotgun. Perks: Rifleman
That's literally all you can do.
I saw ur top 5 bow builds n this wasnt on there. This is ur #1 bow build by far n it deserves a revamped secial edition video
That is some slick shooting, Well done!
I've always wanted to see you guys make a build reminiscent of Raz, from Psychonauts.
yea because that would work
I had a great idea for a build, The Ash Summoner: A no house Dunmer from the City of Blacklight, he/she found him/herself with an aptitude for summoning atronachs, and proceeded to join a local group of mages that were hiding out in Dwarven ruins.
My favorite build... simple and devastating!
+FudgeMuppet I think you guys forgot to redo the templar build
And the gladiator
+Necrowarp watch the end, no they're not
Trine730it's still there
+NegativeNinja yea just saw it after I posted the comment
Have you guys considered making a Witchunter-esque build? I love the idea of a Mystic Archer, the antithesis of a BattleMage-but I'd like to see more of a rogue factor in there. Maybe instead of full robes introduce Light Armor into the fray, as well as including Destruction, Restoration and Alteration? Not sure if it would be viable, but I'd like to try it
I actually am doing this with my current build: Altmer who was former Dominion soldier, do the Missing in Action Quest to get Elven Armor, all Bound Weapons and focus on Destruction, Alteration, and Illusion with secondary focus on Restoration and tertiary focus on Enchanting.
god i love the back story for some magical reason
I know you might have a new build already planned for next time, but please consider my idea, an assassin who focuses on tearing the soul out of her targets with enchantments, I don't really know what kind of back story she would have, but it's just an idea.
Bro-how did this build never get a remaster💀
Damn, Fudgemuppet, back at it again with curing my boredom. Sad it's only for 9 minutes.
And two seconds. :3
And two seconds. :3
And two Seconds. :3
And two seconds. :3
And 2 seconds
Can you guys do a classic Warrior build with a shield and Blade?
I'm not sure if you guys play the game, but if you do have you thought of doing build guides for Elder Scrolls Online? With all the options available between mixing and matching skill, weapon and world abilities there is a large range of possible builds. The downside of course being that since it's an online game you can't just use console commands to quickly level characters and the like, so capturing video footage of your builds in action would be more difficult.
no because elder scrolls online is shit, and you can't really roleplay when there is a shit ton of people doing stupid stuff around you
That's your opinion.
+Sevak Juss did you not read the second reason I gave
+Necrowarp I like eso and I role play in the game all the time :P
Necrowarp I mean the first reason is your opinion. And the second reason doesn't really make sense either.
Installing Steam now to get Skyrim in the Summer Sale and eventually Skyrim Remastered, time to pick a build!
a knight of Mara. Paladin-y , uses calm spell to avoid fight when possible. uses dawnbreaker. Skill: illusion, 1 handed, destruction, restoration, heavy armor, and maybe conjuration. Factions: Dawnguard, Companions, Winterhold
Thank u for making a backstory for a build I have been using since skyrim came out
You should get a mod that replaces the Bound bow with a pink Nerf Rebelle Heartbreaker Bow
You will mostly use your spells for everything and hardly carry anything what soever other than the robes, some books, food and keys.
i honestly think this build is op if you know how to use it
perhaps a role playing build for a lumber jack that used the wood cutters axe. maybe inspired from snow white and the huntsman
This was my favorite build to make and I'm already lvl 25 and I'm already almost OP and it was legit so by far my favorite THX
my character is an imperial dragon knight named Gustavo, he professionalizes in blade, block, heavy armor, alteration, conjuration, destruction, and restoration, kind of like a battlemage, he wheres imperial dragon armor, regular legion armor at the start of the game, favors talos and akatosh as his Divines and meridia and sheogorath as his daedric Princes
I have a very similar build but I have illusion for quite casting and alteration for magic resistance and frostfall spells wolf hide and bear hide.
Dear fudgemuppet
I recently found your channel and in no time at all I watched hours upon hours of your builds and let's playds.
Enchant bound weapons mod
What Riverwood mod was used here? The town is laid out completely different and looks rather interesting.
Can you do an axe murderer build? Only uses woodsman's axe and stuff, something like that.
You know, you could also use the spell for summoning Arvak from the Dawnguard DLC. As an Archer, you could get around faster... Arvak is faster than Shadowmere, but is incredibly weak. Bound Bow and Arvak plus those Master robes, match. :P
Thank you for making more of these videos.
+Glacier Blue thanks for watching :D
Nerfantor It's a spell.
Bound Bow.
this is very similar to the ethereal hunter build in combat style, apart from summons and heavy armor. this build seemed rather lazy altogether, I still love all your stuff guys please keep up the good work
Wait there's a mod that allows you to have the bound bow but shoot arrows that are infused with frost and other types of magic?!
Love the channel and the builds even more. Keep up the amazing work good sir's!
Is it a coincidence that I asked you to redo this build a week ago and you did it? :) (thanks a bunch if you did)
you should do a Sandor Clegane/hound build
what about a sand magic and sneak character? like a Prince oh Prince Persia kinda thing, but more sneak and ninja like. just sounds cool and fun
One of my favourites. Thanks, guys.
My character will side with the Imperial Legion and fight against the Stormcloaks whenever possible.
Skyrim for Xbox 1, is coming with mods added in? Like, we have some mods already added and the others will have to be downloaded? I think it would be nice to see unarmed mod already put into it when fully installed, instead of having to download the mod.
