  • The new Little Mermaid film is out and the internet is going wild over the changes and little details added for mermaid megafans. If you missed what’s weird about scuttle this time around or the plot hole the new film decided to end once and for all, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with the 15 things you missed in The Little Mermaid, live-action edition. We all know that Disney is known for hiding Easter eggs. These can be anything from inside jokes to characters unexpectedly popping up to those ever-popular “hidden Mickeys.” While The Little Mermaid was one of Disney’s earlier films, you’d be surprised by how many Easter eggs you can find in this classic. What’s especially interesting is all the familiar faces who made cameos in this film. There’s no shortage of folks to be spotted in The Little Mermaid, and some of them may even make you wonder about the Disney universe and how the different movies’ storylines coexist with each other. The Little Mermaid has its fair share of hidden Mickeys, and it has appearances from some classic Disney characters. Beyond that, though, the cameos in this movie give us reason to believe that folks from Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and maybe even Pocahontas also exist in The Little Mermaid universe. There are also appearances by non-Disney characters, famous directors, and even U.S. presidents. We’ve also got some inside scoop on who influenced how the beloved characters from this film came to be how we know them today. Whether you’re an expert Disney Easter egg hunter or just a casual fan of The Little Mermaid, we have a pretty good feeling that you missed some of these cameos when you saw the movie last. So, get ready to sit back, relax, and be pretty surprised at some of the faces that were hiding somewhere under the sea.

I think number 10 fun clue could have been that the setting is a fictional Caribbean island than a fictional European country or that Eric has a mother in the live action. The mother played by Noma Dumezweni was also the first black Hermione in the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child play.

Out of all the things to complain about in the trailer people complained that Scuttle shouldn’t be able to talk to Ariel underwater the most? 😂 I enjoyed the film myself 🧜🏿🌊

You left out another difference between the original 1989 animated feature film and the live-action/CGI remake of "The Little Mermaid. In the original 1989 animated feature, when Ariel first noticed her new enchanted legs, she was still in the water and she lifted only one of her enchanted legs and wiggled the toes on one of her enchanted feet, which was one of the cutest images I've seen in Disney movies, but, in the new live-action remake, Ariel played by Halle Bailey (and not Francesca Angelucci Capaldi) first noticed her enchanted feet after she got caught in a fishing net and loaded onto a boat and she wiggled the toes on both feet.

Error in #3 But a mermaid has no tears, and therefore she suffers SO MUCH MORE. What does Hans Solo as do to with The Little Mermaid?

Yeah, that one threw me off as well. If you're going to make what seems to be a "did you know"-type of facts video about the remake and done this professionally, at least get the Hans Christian Andersen quote right. The Hans Solo one made no sense to me either, other than Stars Wars and The Little Mermaid both being property of Disney but other than that, they have nothing to do with each other.
