  • E93 convertible maintenance for high mileage BMW involves filling up the hydraulic fluid reservoir when the pump is low on fluid. Our hard top E93 M3 was in need of maintenance so I topped off the hydraulic pump motor fluid. This DIY guide will work for any e93 from 328i, 335i, and M3. Thanks for watching!

    Just an FYI, the secondary plastic cover that you said you don't keep on. That is a sealing cover to protect all the electronics from moisture and any water in the event that a seal should fail letting water/moisture into the trunk compartment.

      Good video though. Thank you for the info. I checked my reservoir the other day and it was just in line with the very bottom of the + symbol〔like this>±〕 which I assumed was the maximum line. So I thought no need top it up. I did notice the my roof seemed like it was closing hard and almost slamming when the front section came down to lock into the top of the windscreen frame. Thanks bud. 👍

    Would you be able to do a video on the best way to clean and clear out drain holes? I have an older e93 that pools in the door due to blocked drains and i can seem to find the holes

    Try adding a clear fish line hose so you don't spill that liquid you dropped more on the pump than what you filled the pump with

    I think using a syringe would work a bit easier

    Instead of having to move the pump at all you could just jack the left side of the car up on some blocks. I imagine that would be enough to be able to remove the screw.

    Great video for topping up your fluid ... but as your roof was fully closed, it is normal to have the fluid level down ... your car was not low on oil

    • @Sals_Garage
      @Sals_Garage  10 місяців тому +1

      Thanks, it is normal over time for the fluid to slowly drop. 123k miles and 14 years later it needed a small top up.

      @@Sals_Garage its a sealed system. I would think there is a leak somewhere if the fluid level drops.

    • @Sals_Garage
      @Sals_Garage  9 місяців тому +2

      You’ll need to pour out all the fluid in the reservoir and refill it again then run the top a few times and repeat as much as you would like. Good luck 👍
