Hi Chris your a star & thank you for doing this great review, this is the first review of the Lexmoto Detroit on youtube so thumbs up to you for getting in first ; ) I have owned this great bike for just over 2 weeks now and i could't be more happy, it handle's really well & it has a great little engine with really smooth gear changes. What i was really surprised about is the Petrol consumption, i read the Lexmoto spec after i bought the bike about this as i was wondering how many miles per Gallon i was going to get out of it & Lexmoto say that it is "one of the most economical 125's that you can buy" I can confirm that the fuel consumption is fantastic as i have done over 200 miles and the bike still has over half a tank : o Which means it is costing me about £3 a week and i do on average 50 to 60 Miles so that is cheaper than catching the Bus for just one journey into into work. As i am running the bike in (first 500 miles) i have only been on a road with a 50MPH speed limit which the bike coped with no problem. It would have been great to see more of the bike out on the road on this review Chris just to see how it compared with other 125's out there : ) I am not bothered about the bike not being able to have a top box & think that it would look ugly if it had one. The arm's stretched out position is absolutly fine for me & i find it very comfy & i feel that i could ride it on long journeys without a problem. All the best & thanks again.
don't worry about seeing it on the road i have 360 degree footage of my test rid i will try and upload it as a 360 file so you can look around wilts I ride on that engine you should get 120 to 140 mpg

This is a highbar cruiser with a 125cc engine, for 9.4 BHP, stated top end of 70mph and 80mpg on E5, 140kg dry (it doesn't even feel it, in fact it feels about as heavy as my lowrider!). My insurance through Aviva is £360. Remember this is my first year on two wheels. I am loving the bike so far, even though I'm still on its pre-first-service run in. Oh, yeah, and I'm 6 foot 8 and the bike still looks chunky under me.

Just a shout out as an owner of the Lexmoto Detroit 125 CC. 2024. When buying your first motorbike. Please do extensive research. Talk to people and go with the best dealerships and private owners. I have had an awful experience of being a new rider. The dealership I bought the bike from. Are currently being investigated by trading standards. Now as soon as I am able. I will be letting everyone know exactly what has happened. So others don't experience what myself and many others already have. Stay away from the dealership Poole Moto. Please do not put yourself or others at risk. Of experiencing what myself and others have. Hopefully, trading standards and other entities involved. Will put a stop to them. The man in this video is genuine. He is not affiliated to or anything to do with Poole Moto. It is a good genuine analysis of the Detroit. Good luck as first time riders

Hi, how tall are you? I'm 6'4 and unsure if it'll be a good fit for my height. I'm currently saving at the moment, looking to get either the Detroit or the Michigan. Definitely want a cruiser style. Can you comment on which is better in your opinion? Inc, value for money/ performance, etc. I've owned 2 of the zsb's, a 16 plate carbed, which I then upgraded to a 21 plate efi, which was unfortunately stolen. They were great bikes. I would go back to the zsb. However, the euro 5 version has a 10mph loss in speed according to what it says on the lexmotos website, even though the specs are pretty much the same. Thanks.
im 5 ft 9 i would say the Detroit is my preferred but this would only be on cosmetics the reason for the speed reduction is because of ne emission rules
Can you fit semi automatic or honda cub 125 in this bike frame? How does it work to register if you will change the engine. Can you make a video of this pls
I really like the looks of that bike but why such low power output . I don't understand why they don't go nearer to the maximum legal bhp . Under 10 is just not enough for most people . Otherwise a great little bike
I own this bike and fully agree with your question and the answer from Chris. When i was looking for a new 125 i took loads of things into concideration (the BHP being one of them) I didn't want a Racing type bike thought they do look great and they do have a higher BHP but when you look at (for example the Lexmoto range) the top end speed of all their 125's there is only a small differance of about 5MPH. Lexmoto quote a 65MPH top speed for the Detroit & 70MPH for the LXR so it came down to which bike was more comfortable for me, i tried every bike in the showroom and the Detroit was by far the best for me personally and i am not bothered about the 5MPH trade off because being an L plate rider i won't be going on any roads with a National speed limit so comfort & looks won it for me : ) Yes the bike is great and i am really happy with it : )
I have one , they are 125 so they are slow and like all 125s run out of puff on hills, they are also not suited in my view to rides more than a couple of hours as I personally find the combined slow speeds they can achieve and design rather tiring to ride any distance. That said a well made machine nicely finished and quite lightweight and for the price, I paid £2100 otr so you cannot grumble just don't expect to much , as I did. It is what it is a nice bike but its a 125cc not a 500
Please stop saying the suspension will soften over time, it won't! Suspension springs are highly resilient and durable. Take this from someone who has spent £1000's on mountain bike suspension products over the years. If a spring was to soften over time it's not fit for purpose and should be returned to manufacturer for replacement. A quick google on the subject would have you up to speed
I will look into that from my experience a brand new bike to one that has been ridden for 1 year seems softer to me usually I will service and maintain a bike from new from 2 years
@@Ridingreviews I've used a steel spring on my mountain bike rear shock for the last 18 months and the sag point is still at 30%. Custom tuning for rider weight and rider style would be pointless if it needed adjustting periodically. Set and forget unless ssomething catastophic happens. I've put 9k on my Lexmoto Aura 124 since mid July, the rear springs are still as stiff as they were on day 1. I've been meaning to install some lighter springs but haven't gotten around to it yet.
My pal had an AJS he loved for 5 months until it got stolen, he did get a new one and then first thing he said was the bike was a harder ride and stiff. He’s currently on a Mutt now with about 2k on it, next service, he said he’s having his suspension upgraded to adjustable ones which I’ll also do from the offset with my new 125 when I eventually get one. 👍

Makes sense to use the older aircooled engine if you are trying to mimic a harley wouldn’t look right with a radiator
i agree but there are better air cooled engines out there

You can fit up to a 192 cc

That engine won't produce it. The engines that will produce the 14.7 hp are more expensive to make
