Zontes Mantis 125cc review

- This video is a bit of fun really, just riding around town and enjoying being out on a bike. Our star this week is the Zontes 125cc ZT125 'Mantis'. Despite being £2,099 it has a few nice features that make it suitable for town riding, as a learner bike, perhaps as a delivery vehicle.
Let me know what you think, do you fancy a 125cc yourself or are you firmly graduated to the bigger bikes with no looking back? 😄

I started with a 250cc a Yamaha DS7, that was before the RD250, two stroke of course. It was in those days a nice bike to drive and I never had a problem, only one flat rear tyre. Regular maintenance was key to keep it good.
I love yr videos..always makes me smile! 👍
Thanks so much Willie ☺️. Really appreciated 👍
Bu motosiklet Türkiye de Mondial Vulture 125 olarak üretiliyor. Bunun daha sportif modeli gençler arasında çok yaygın olarak kullanılan Drift L dir.
Great video, good straightforward review
Thank you Michelle, appreciate the comment. Good luck in your search for a 125cc! Sean
that train sound scared me half too death hahahahaha
Hahahaha 😂. Was picked at random, trains have absolutely nothing to do with the post box 😂
I like the way you started channeling your inner Benny Hill around 1:50
Brurry iriot.
Haha, yes this video was a bit out of the norm for me. Very much unscripted! 😊
This is basically a lexmoto zsb, i cant remember the figures exactly but adjusting the previous price for inflation they should cost about 1200 quid, but they dont, so for about 800 quid more you could have a brand new honda cb125f for 2750 ish from some dealers. Theres absolutely no chance I'd buy either lexmoto or zontes or any bike where theyve basically stuck a logo on a Chinese generic. Im sure they will be okay but they should not cost 2 grand simple as that. Appreciate the video regardless 👍🙂😎
Great to see someone testing 125cc machines which can be difficult as demo bikes are rare. I have a 125cc chinese scooter that I use for commuting and shopping, it saves digging out my bigger bike and saves wear and tear on it. Can you include how comfortable it is as i find because I'm tall a lot of the 125s are too small and not comfortable.
Thanks for the comment. If I commuted (I work from home which actually isn't all it's cracked up to be, but that's another story!) I would 100% go by bike and likely a 125, probably a bike instead of a scooter but I do like the storage on the scooters! Thanks for the comment 🙂
Nice video bud but I thought the Lexmoto ZSB 125 was the cheapest at £1869?
Hi Sneeky, ah I didn't see that one. OK it's one of the cheapest. Thanks for the heads up!
@@MindfulMotorcyclist no worries buddy as it was not a critique of the video but as the price game is moving so fast!
Looks like fun.
It was actually, I've got an odd 125cc thing going on at the moment 😂😂
I like small bikes, and I prefer small channels that focus on them, so I have subscribed. I'm glad there is no background music on the earlier videos. 2099 GBP for this little gem. I bet it's reliable. I live most of the year in the far north of Thailand and 125s here tend to be 150/155/160. That extra 25/35 cc makes such a difference. For example the XSR125 you get is an XSR155 here, and has the same engine as my daily runaround: a Yamaha Aerox 155 scooter. I also have a Yamaha SCR950 and a KTM 390 Duke Mk2, the latter getting much more use, although the 950 is good for romps up to the Mekong. I'd love a Suzuki VanVan 200, as well. But four machines are probably too many. Nick J
Must've missed this comment Nick, sorry about that. How did you end up living most of the year in Thailand? That's a nice life 😊
@@MindfulMotorcyclist Early retirement. My woman is half-Thai. I spent my time reading, writing and riding. Nick
And was it easy to achieve residence status in Thailand?
@@MindfulMotorcyclist If you are over 50, you just need money in a Thai bank. If you are younger, there are other ways, such as study visas.
It looks a bit like an MZ ETZ 125.
nice wee bike, i did cringe a bit when you ragged it at 60 at max revs. Looked like it hadn't had its first service. I take it its not yours :)
It's not mine, but... I did have full permission from the dealer to 'give it some' it's a demo bike and as such I assume they will expect it to get ridden hard...
I have that bike now, lol
The one in the video
How are you getting on with it? Weighs nothing does it!
@@MindfulMotorcyclist it's been decent, good first bike and yeah the weight helps, wouldn't recommend the bike tho had some bad reliability issues.
What were the issues? It might help others...
It cuts out all the time if I don't keep revs high, I swapped the battery and switched to e5 fuel but it's still happening
Sure its fun ugly little bugger though where is it made
Jiangmen, I believe. It has somewhat of a bulbous tank but it grows on you...
