What a beautifully, upclose, personal and passionate review. Very informative! Not your usual typical averagel car review nowadays common on many channels. This is how reviews should be done, real depth. Many thanks indeed for this review, I've just made up my mind on buying this car as it defines my personality and fits perfectly for my satisfaction for a car that gives me more than everything I ever needed from a mid size SUV. Brilliant work done mate. Greetings from Uganda 🇺🇬 😊

Ahhh, the same engine as my 2108 RS5. I know it takes a lot of flack for not sounding as wild as older and bigger engines but as a daily driver that I floor here and there, it's an awesome powerplant. I've gone trough the same sound withdrawal going from L-twins to a V4 Ducati motorcycle. As sums of their parts, they're better bikes and cars than their predecessors and I'm happier with my choices each day. This V6 actually sounds pretty good with an exhaust upgrade but I haven't bothered since I'm actually enjoying that it's not attracting every cop in town like my previous cars. Great review!
The Macan facelift and design is nigh unto perfect. The Stuttgart people have done a fabulous job. 2.9 liters with 550 Newton meters of torque. Incredible. A lighter engine means better handling. Efficient twin turbos. Awesome. Sounds fabulous as well. Kudos to Porsche and for their layout as well. The clock is practical as well. The performance is really great for a compact SUV. Just quite a car. Brilliant! AF

Great review that also mirrors much of my own opinions of this great car and the driving pleasure it delivers. I have recently acquired a 2020 Macan S, and although it doesn't deliver the performance of the Turbo Model, it still has impressive performance when needed and is a pleasure to drive under normal every day conditions. Also impressive has been my average highway fuel consumption, which has averaged between 25 and 29 mpg during my 2000 mile break in period. (USA gallons and miles) Your comments about fuel efficiency on the turbo model has me believing now that my own results are not unusual.
Great review and seriously considering as a replacement for my low mileage 2015 Macan S. Only real concern is the vulnerability of the rads given those large exposed front air intakes ? Wonder if there will be any after market grills for them ?
Thanks Brian for a very informative review - part of the reason that I ordered one of the 1st Macan GTS's to come to South Africa back in August 2020 and which I will take delivery of within the next week. It has a "full house" of add-ons including Air suspension, Chrono package + 21 inch Spider wheels and I hope it really drives as well as you describe - as, thanks to Covid lockdown here - I have not even been able to drive a demo, as I understand that none of that version arrived into the country after the GTS was launched. Can't wait to drive it on the twisty turny coastal roads from Pringle Bay to Gordons Bay early in the morning.
1st. Macan is brilliant. I have a 2017 Macan S and a Boxster 2006 fun summer car. The Macan is so comfortable and yet fun. I love it. BUT the gen 2 rear light bar is horrible. The Gen 1 rear lights are a work of art. Stunning.
Really nice video. Love my 2021 Volcano Grey Turbo but wish I had PCCB. With that said, I'm beyond thrilled with PSCB but think PCCB brings it up another level. Love the black tips on the sport exhaust but wish Porsche would send out a software update to improve the sound.
Im contemplating wether to get this macan turbo or the new 2020 audi RSQ3, but there are 2 cons for me in the macan. 1) that center console (i really hate seeing empty buttons) 2) still no android auto support? Your joking right. Its 2020, i hate apple products doesnt mean i cant afford them. Before everyone starts saying your comparing a q3 to a macan when its classed with the q5. Im talking about the RSq3, its 400 hp, the macan turbo is 440. Yea its alittle down on power but the macan turbo weights more. Power to weight ratio its more evenly matched. The rsq3 has a 5cylinder turbo, which also sounds better, and the macan turbo has a 2.9l v6, bigger engine more weight. I would really like to see a direct comparison between the two, both on track and off. Im still deciding between the two, but the only 2 cons i see with the macan thats pulling me away from it (atleast for now) is android auto not supported and that old center dash. My question is whats better? The new 2020 RSq3 sportback or macan turbo?
The light bar in the rear is a nice update. But the fact that it's not covered in a clear housing like the Cayenne, means Porsche is gonna hear from everyone and their mother about how impossible all those tiny nooks and crannies are to clean. People are gonna want the whole thing replaced every spring. I'm seriously dreading it when I trade my 2017 GTS in this next June. Middle Class problems right? Lol
I much prefer the buttons over the infotainment center system of doing something such as directing air to where one wants it to go. If only Porsche had provided some of the analog buttons or switches on the 911 series. Of course the people with iphones will likely use their phone for navigation, solving one of the problems. It is time to take this car for a ride. I prefer leather over microfiber. The steering wheel is beautiful in this car. AF I should add that seeing South Africa, for me, is something that i like as it appears to be a beautiful country. And while I was born in California, my generation is two away, for my grandfather was born in the Southeast Cape. Grahamstown. (Can't bear to call it anything else.) Nice presentation.
Fantastic review guys :) And you were in SA! Looks like Cape Town too! Totally up to meet up with you guys when you are down here again sometime. :) Maybe even help with getting around!
Hello Glad to see you are in a new location and it looks nice and warm there. By the way which part of the country where you in Cape Town or Durban? What did you think of the roads and the views as you drove around? l have heard it has some amazing roads particularly around the Garden Route. If you have a chance try it and let us know what you think.
Thank you for a great review Brian. I am picking up my new Silver Turbo on Thursday. I really like the Kermit the frog green but my wife said no... After test driving the S I also came to the conclusion this may be the last of the ICE SUV dinosaurs that is truly fun and quality. Life today is a compromise, this to me seems a way to enjoy the transition that we are all in.
That button heavy centre console looked dated when the car originally launched; so it looks absolutely ridiculous now. Guess it’s good if you fly a commercial airliner and like lots of buttons. Otherwise a positive upgrade.
Hi, are you sure about the brake ? It looked like a PCCB rather than the PSCB. PSCB will come with white calipers and the discs will be mirror-like surface.
It is strange for a review car to not be equipped with a common option such as Porsche Entry and Go. I suspect that most Macans are like mine, without a key start.
I can't agree with you. Car manufacturers have to improve and modernise the designs to make their products more distinctives from the others. They are trying to create unigue looks and also, they follow AUDI design paths (speaking of the rear part). In my opinion this looks very cool and especially at night.
Andrei Pashkov the new rear end looks disgusting the 1st generation lights were 3D art and the light bar looks cheap and ugly. Sad all Porsches have them now. My 2017 Macan S doesn’t though thank god it has the fantastic lights and no lighbar
Dear Autogefühl, wouldn't you like to reach a bigger audience, for example Spanish (Spain & Latin America) speaking audience? I love cars, I love your reviews, I speak English and Spanish and could work for you reviewing the cars in Spanish. Let me know if you're interested.

Absolute waste of money... If you want to spend this much money of a 4-door Porsche SUV, get a Cayenne Coupé E-Hybrid; you'll get a lot more for your money (and in the US you'll get $7500+ back in federal/state tax credits/rebates), you'll have more hp and torque and a lot more fun, plus more space in the back seat and cargo area, more options, and a much better instrument panel. If they made a Macan E-Hybrid, it would be by far the best vehicle in the Macan line, with the best hp and best torque; word is that an E-Hybrid version will be out for MY2022, when the Macan BEV is available.

A mistake has been made. Those are the upgraded Ceramic brake option and not the shiny surface coated ones with silver caliber color.
