- Fran goes with Gracie for a check-up, however, the doctor suggests that Fran's tonsils need to be checked.
From Season 1 Episode 15, 'Deep Throat'. Fran gets sick and has to have her tonsils removed. While sedated, Fran tells Mr Sheffield that she loves him. Maxwell worries about this but it turns out that Fran has been telling all of the staff in the hospital that she loves them.

Which led to surgery and a drugged up Fran says "Shister Meffield... I love you ... " Maxwell gets very concerned and confides in Niles about poor Miss Fine pining away for him. When she comes out of recovery she is telling everyone she loves them including the IV pole and Niles walks out in the hall to laugh hysterically. The comedic timing on this show was top notch. ❤
That was funny when she said hey skinny I love you too.

Dr. Link said he was covering for Dr. Sherwin, but Fran acted like the degrees on the wall were Dr. Link's degrees and not the degrees of the doctor for whom he was covering. Unless they sent Gracie into Dr. Link's office, knowing that he was covering for Dr. Sherwin. (Maybe that's what happened).
