This kid was tough as nails. He took some nasty shots and always bounced up off the ground. He spent a lot of time between Yancey Thigpen’s departure and Hines Ward’s arrival with a subpar group of receivers. His weakness was consistency in the long game. And the Steelers’ offensive coaches failed miserably, seemingly every year in the playoffs, by allowing defenses to dictate that Kordell would have to throw deep. (How many offensive coordinators were there with the Steelers in his career?) He was a great player for several years.
damn no one gonna talk about that one armed catch against oilers. he did that with no effort lol. i wish i could’ve grew up to watch him. too bad i was too young and wasn’t born. never seen such a versatile qb
The national media says Randy moss had the greatest rookie year ever, but in my opinion, Kordell Stewart had the greatest rookie year ever. To play four positions, and score TD on three of them, plus making it to the super bowl, is beyond impressive.
Agreed... however he really didn't have the support of the coaching staff....97-00 new o coordinator almost ever year and in 99 he got banned from QB meetings cause they wanted him to go back into his slash role...Chan galiey and Mike mulurkley got the most out of him cause they let him play his game at QB..Ray Sherman and Kevin gilbride forced him to to stay in the pocket to make plays and punished him for leaving the pocket to early...not to mention in the 98-00 season we were clearly rebuilding...
@@brypete In 97, it seemed like they really played to his talents but, lime you said, they tried to change who he was and it didn't work. Too bad. He had some great moments though.
Yes but do you think Stewart also could’ve been a Lamar Jackson type of QB as well? When Vick was drafted I was constantly wondering why my Steelers wouldn’t change the offense more to build around him.
3:04 I know when the contents of what he said when said “gay” it meant “happy” . But if he said that today and in network people would have fired him. Because most people that say the word gay and most people that think of the word gay don’t think of it in its original meaning of being happy.
Way ahead of his time
Big facts
Everyone talks about Taysom Hill. Kordell Stewart was the original.
Finally someone uploaded some real highlights of my boy Slash..thank you
you welcome..........
For real!!! Thank you for this bro he’s my favorite steeler
He was big as hell.. God bless Kordell❤️
Hearing Boomer and Jackson together again doing hilights is a hilight in itself. Miss those two together. Peak NFL back then.

Agree 100%. Steelers had a special player who could’ve been built around instead of trying to change what he did best.
When mularkey came oc kordell thrived throwing the ball for 2 years or so
kordell run like 2k football player lol
awesome to see so many great plays of him consecutively

i love slash i believe he coulda been an all time great he just played in the wrong era
No one noticed how the announcer says the fans are gay at 3:05 lol 😂
Gay was happy once upon a time ago
Ahead of his time. He’d be a pro bowler every year if he was playing in todays game.
i like him a lot but... why?
Yes he would be! Freakin Lamar Is the proof! That dude is exact same. Kordell was way more talented tho
Best athlete in the NFL for at least a five year stretch. All the tools.
It was so much fun to watch him when he wasn’t the QB.
Who was the 1 loser to dislike the video? Lol
Should be a Hall of Famer. He don't have the numbers tho. But there's hasn't been a player like him.
Versatile player
Thanks.
how does one obtain this old footage? and thank you. any punt videos?
I literally didn't see one passing highlight until he went with the bears in this vid 🤣

i can't guarantee it............but I will see..........
Thanks, and if you can’t do Sam Mills would you mind some Bobby Wagner highlights? But great channel you need more subs, views and likes.
77 TDs 84 INTs.
Great athlete never a great QB!
Belongs to the Pro Football Hall of Fame
The dude went to one pro bowl in his entire career. No way.
The man could play four positions… Qb/ Rb / wr/ and Punter
Tim Brown Would Be Clutch
You Already Know I'm going to make Tim Brown............
Jsn Highlights I figured bro you got the best UA-cam channel hands down.
Slash before Vivk!
In many ways, he was Lamar before Lamar.
Mike Vick Lamar Jackson kordel stu
Time to cancel that announcer. He just called a whole city gay. What a bigot. Much hate so eww
Don't forget punter
😫yoooo
Marion Barber?
Just got a madden card
How rare to be a true triple threat though?
3:03
So much talent at WR it's a shame. One of the biggest disappointments makes me sick
HAHA 3:30 BEST WAY TO DESCRIBE STEELERS FANS

Too emotional to watch
Kordell broke my heart in 1997 and 2001
Thousands of miles away from da burgh in El Paso Tex.
Before Taysom Hill.
You
Too bad he never won a ring
U L
Kordell SMOKES Lamar Jackson! Kordell could Catch, throw, Run and Kick! Lamar is a modern version of Kordell, But not as good all around for sure!
