Great video Josh! Awesome to see you’ve found a way to show the epic footage you’re getting without spoiling spots and annoying anyone. Good tips at the end too, they’re super helpful for people like me that are new to Barra fishing. Keep up the great work mate, I know how hard you worked to figure the Barra out so good on you. Legend! 👍🎣
anglers abroad have very complete and advanced equipment but still maintain the preservation of fish by not over-catching. very impressive. Greetings, West Bali Angler
Nice one mate! I’ve come close with SEQ barra but still elude me haha..hard to get good footage and not upset peoples “secret” spots but u did well mate!
It’s such a hard line to walk. At the end of the day it’s all about the fishing and best respect people’s beliefs around it. Keep up the work though mate, you’ll get there and then all of a sudden it’ll become easy to ya. 🤙
Great little session man 👏 no shortage of them down this way anymore, still a well kept secret. Haven't see a Basra vid from ya since your awoonga one a couple years back 👊 keep it up
Thanks mate really appreciate it. I’d love to be able to produce a few more of the Barra vids, they’re such fun to catch. A very well kept secret for that reason 😉
Nice work mate. I went 1/2 on the barra up the sunny coast the other day but pure bycatch on jacks. Next day i went to a system very close to brisbane and jerkbaited a 75cm one. Ive been running the samaki DS80 and its held up to all so far, they were $17 at sportys the other day which is a bargain
It’s mainly because of how much time and effort people put into catching them in the South east. They’re not an overly easy species to target coupled with the high population density of Brisbane makes people secretive. I’m just trying to best showcase the fishing and not tread on too many toes. This is just my view on it though. Hope it helps 😅
So good to see em in such good condition. I haven’t been seeing a great deal of threadys lately. But I also have a hard time passing up Barra fishing these days 😅
Gave it a like mate as per usual, completely understand the reasoning but it does lose something with just a view of the water. Great effort and keep the great vids coming.
Thanks for being so understanding mate. I agree with you it definitely does lose something just having a water background. Maybe one day it won’t be a problem and I’ll just shoot a regular angle.
Thanks mate! 🤙 I’ll do a bit of both, search areas that Barra would typically dwell around and then either go off the hunch without paying too much attention to the sounder. Or sometimes I’ll just scan areas until I find them. This way is a bit trickier cause sometimes they can hide behind structures.
It’s really hard to say as I’ve only been successfully catching Barra for about 2 years. In that time I’ve caught and lost plenty, but long term I’d say they’ve always been here in relatively good numbers.

Cheers legend! 🤙😘 about time I worked out how to showcase some Barra fishing. 😅

We really are spoilt with the technology at our disposal these days.
Cool local Barra session mate!
Cheers for the shout out too!
Thanks mate. Can’t pinch a juicy camera angle like that without giving some credit 😘
Logan River is fishing really well!
😂😂😂 shhhhh 🤫 people will find out

Thanks mate. They’re a hard to go past lure the old DS 80’s I’m always loading up on jerkbaits any opportunity I get. Constantly lose em 😂
Why the secrecy around barra?

Good to see, they are Very healthy looking Barra! Have you come across many threadies lately??

awesome mate! just wondering, do you sound the fish or fish likely spots? or a combo of both?

Do you think the Barra population in brizzy area is increasing?

@@BrisVegasFishing hope I catch one soonish. 🙏
Would it help to keep your spots secret if you swapped to night fishing?...your dad and I had most of our success at night.
Yeah, but then that also diminishes the quality of the video. Not a lot of people are too keen on watching night fishing. It’s a tricky line to walk 😅
