Fun to see the Huns in action, Graham! I know we have a few players around here threatening to run them, so it was helpful to see what they could do. Thanks for the game!
Thanks Graham, good game - haven't played vs Huns yet, in fact have not done much AoI at all. Question, the fatigue from reign of arrows seemed to be counted in the melee, I thought you had read the description as the fatigue happens after a shooting or melee, is that the case. I am not sure. Interested to get your feedback as it slightly effects how many extra dice you get on abilities played during a melee. Good use of the orders to replenish dice in the orders phase though, there aren't too many warband's that can do it, but if they can it's really great.
Yep reign of arrows is a order, It puts a virtual fatigue on when calculating "all" advanced saga abilities. very powerful;, needs to be on every turn.
Graham, have you tried some of the tournament variations of clash of warlords? Like you have to get out of your deployment zone or else count as a casualty at the end of the game. It helps prevent turtling a bit. And/Or count all shooting casualties as levy when adding up points.
Really interesting thought. we need to mix it up a bit. The levy idea is good, unless you are playing Byzantines. 🙂. tbh a lot of shooty armies do turtle a bit. Also think clash of warlords suits shooty armies.
Yep Alex, fun game to play, enjoyed it. he was very shooty in the end!. Always thinking Huns are shooty too, but tbh they are much better at Melee, especially with sharing the fatigue love all around!
Good to see another pair of armies on the table. The nomadic horsemen mercenaries didn't seem to do much - lack of activation dice? But the Huns - like the Mongols - do very well on a small table. The ability to activate multiple horsemen units make them very frustrating opponents.
Hi Thx as always for watching. Last time used Huns was before Covid, so was keen to play them, Graham has a beautiful Roman army, so we was happy all round. saying that though, pretty i was rusty. should have attacked much harder in turn 1, Poor initial deployment. 😃

Yep a real kick ass faction. I really rate them.
Just caught up on your last 4 reports, cant believe I missed em. Really enjoyable not seen huns played much so this one was great.
Thank you 😀

Nice game Gra. Those Huns sure hit hard, but can be vulnerable to shooting too, so it makes it interesting. 👍

Good game. Two canny players with tough warbands.
Yep a good game to play.
