    Hi Nadine. I would take the sleeves out and then if you aren't happy then make it in to a skirt. It is a lovely dress. Great op shop finds. :)

    Op shops are fabulous places for finding treasures. I'd wear the brown linen dress sleeveless. It would be perfect for Byron Bay in summer. With your black dress, your idea of lace at the hem is terrific. I'd make it wide not narrow as in your top. Another place to include some lace would be on the sleeves, if, you intend to have them. Love your hat. I too don't use cable needles either. Watching from NZ. We call the Salvos here, the Sallies!!

      @@emmabutcher great advice, thank you. Yes, I thought the lace band at least 12cm. The dress is sleeveless but would look nice with sleeves too. Sallies, I love it!

    Love your brown dress and would choose the option A. I think the dress will look better without the sleeves ❤

    Lovely podcast. Your Salvo finds are gold. I reckon the dress would look great sleeveless or with the sleeves slightly capped. Again, you have given me inspiration - with the hat pattern and the designers' other patterns leading me down the rabbit hole. With the pineapples, I throw the tops into established garden beds, and, like Topsy, they just grow. The offshoots are called pups. We have a wonderful pineapple grower locally who puts up a roadside stand every year with his small and very sweet pines. A lot of travellers rip off the tops and leave them, so locals will quite often buy a couple of sweeties and take 2 or 3 tops to add to their pineapple patch. Have a wonderful week. Thank you for your entertaining and inspirational podcast.

      @@brendabrodie4260 thank you so much! Pups, I love that! So you just throw them in the garden without sprouting them first? I may have done a bit a dress surgery last night, stay tuned for the next episode. Have rabbit-holing❤️

      @handcraftswithnadine , it works for me(quite by mistake, I decided to put all my kitchen scraps into a garden bed to reduce weeds. Lo and behold, pineapples, pumpkins and tomato plants.) No green thumb needed! Can't grow very much intentionally....

    From here your brown dress looks great...drapey and flattering, but you do you...both ideas would be nice.

    Could you not re-attach the sleeves after cutting back the shoulders/armhole of the dress? Otherwise I think you choose the option that you would wear most. Lucky finds!

      @@patchwork9712 do you mean taking in the bodice width first?

    • @patchwork9712
      @patchwork9712 2 місяці тому

      Yes, I’m thinking to adjust the bodice as required then it might just be a bit of fiddling to reattach the sleeves. By the way, I agree with Emma re a longer lace section on your black dress. Great podcasts, I’ll have to go back to the earlier ones.
