It's funny how your first one is almost always your favorite, eh? I started with Bloodborne and six games later it's still #1 in my heart. Elden Ring came really, really close, though, and I have zero doubt if I'd started there it'd be my favorite instead.
You know what? I've been trying to find professionals reacting to the DS3 menu music and after hours of disappointment I have found you. This is hands down the *BEST* reaction on the internet to this epic musical theme! ..so I stayed and been watching your videos since. Love from the UK. ❤
Really hope this series does as well, or even better than Bloodborne. Your reactions are so genuine and the editing is fire as well. You definitely deserve at least 100k subs.
YES! Very excited. this will be my first time being able to watch episodes as they come out. I'll do my best to give spoiler free helpful tips. Have fun!!!!
I listen to FromSoft OSTs daily on my way to work and while I work. They are so majestic and real, i dont know the fact that it's an actual orchestra and choir makes the songs sooo much more intense. I'm so hyped everytime you get hyped about the music aha
This is gonna be awesome! This is my favorite souls game without a doubt, I have easily more than 3000 hours in this game lol, in the beggining of the game is best to put all of your points in health, that's the easiest start, and use deep or simple weapons that you find which don't scale with anything, they just have high base damage at the beggining of the game, then you can decide which build you wanna go with, dark builds are the most fun because you can use almost everything, magic, miracles, dark magic, strength weapons, dexterity weapons etc, dark is basically levelling up both magic and faith at the same time, but you'll have to use gems to change the weapon properties so they can scale with those stats, dark builds are way more advanced tho, the easiest and most simple builds are always gonna be strenght or dexterity
Knowing what's coming up for you in DS3, and having been on this journey with you since Elden, I can honestly say I'm more hyped for you to play this than any other game so far. So stoked for you to experience this game and it's best-in-class bosses.
I'm so excited to see you start this! I've been looking forward to this one the most I must admit. Right off the bat, some things to check on in that first area before pressing forward. 1. You got the key for the NPC in the Cage, under the 2nd bonfire 2. You Missed a staircase right next to the first dead dragon by the 1st bonfire. 3. Its worth grabbing the last 2 items in front of the fire breathing dragon. 4. check around the left side of Firelink shrine, Outside the building. 5. In the room with the firebomb enemies, and dogs there is a chest in the rafters. Thanks so much again for making these vids, I already know I'm gonna watch every one of these as soon as you post them.
This take my slice of cake for the best "Part 1" of any Fromsoft game played by any youtuber... This was so nostalgic and exciting to watch having seen all of your other playthroughs. Priceless reactions!
This was my first souls game. I've yet to finish it, but the atmosphere has me coming back again and again. Love your playthroughs. Appreciate that you spend time to edit out the dead air. Have fun!
That title music slaps harder than most boss OST's in the whole souls series. For sure, the hardest challenge is actually clicking any button in the title screen!
You’re gonna love it bro. Been on the same journey as you since elden ring last year. Just got to DS3 2 weeks ago and it’s been a blast, a challenge, and definitely nostalgic feeling after playing the first DS’s
The way you play these games is incredibly satisfying and fun to watch. You appreciate the little things about each area and you deserve so many more subs. I'm really excited for the rest of the series I'm gonna watch every episode!
If you are still curious where DS3 fits, it definitely takes place after DS1 and 2. There are a couple of areas and items and npcs that reference this. Really hope you enjoy playing the entire game.
Holy Shizz all these years later and just now thanks to your videos my brain finally made the connection that the title theme is the same leitmotif as the DarkLurker's theme, completely blows my mind that there are still things to discover that connect the titles
Nah man, first video i've watched of you and i already liked you first 5 minutes i've watched. The moment you started apreciating the menu theme i just plugged my headphones and started listening to it with you and man, you've reminded me the banger that theme is! Just sat there listening along and getting chills up my spine. Liked first 5 minutes into the video. Will binge watch this for sure!
Let's go! Here are some tips. 1. Builds - For builds there are like 5 main ones. Strength, Dexterity, quality (take Strength and dex to 40), intelligence (spells), faith (healing, buffs, and other spells). Quality will give you the most versatility to try different weapons. 2. Scaling - Weapon scaling is more important than bass damage. If you want a strength build then choose a weapon with an A, B, or S scaling in strength. Same goes with Dex, Int, and faith. If you find a weapon that you really like but doesn't scale in your build type then Andre might be able to make it scale with Gems but you have to find them out in the world. 3. Firelink roof - keep trying. There is a way to get on the roof of firelink shrine at the beginning of the game. 4. Parrying - the parry happens when the shield swings up and away not when winding it up. Small round shields are the best at parrying. 5. Always check around firelink shrine when you return there. NPCs will come and go often. 6. Kicking - kicking is ment to break guards. When an enemy has their shield up you can kick it and break their guards. 7. Weapon arts - alot of weapons have unique weapon arts. When trying new weapons out make sure you try the light, heavy, and weapon art out. Weapon arts use the blue estus too. If you have any questions just ask brother.
I still haven't played the dark souls series but it's been so incredibly fun to see the games through your perspective! When I was very young my favorite thing in the world was to watch my older brother play Zelda (N64) and watching your videos gives that same "this is the best" feeling
Hype episode! Happy to see you enjoying ds3. A couple small things you missed that you might wanna check out: theres actually actually a small path to the left (you only went right) of Firelink shrine as well with something a little interesting, though you're quite strong by now; also, you missed a small staircase going up, left of the one you go down after the high wall of lothric bonfire by the dead dragon, it leads to the binoculars, thought you might wanna use them at the place where you raised the banner for a nice view :).
Same as Dark Souls 1 If the chains facing towards you it's a mimic if its facing away from you it's a chest. Also if I'm not mistaken on the tower you cant go all the way up where you kill your first abyss enemy or what you say alien dudes theres wood planks on the same level you can smash and jump down there.
YES, FINALLY! This game holds a special place in my heart as the first game I played in th he souls borne series and I am so glad you're getting to experience my favorite game in this epic series
You forgot the cell with a thief in it. Also there's a stairs at the dead dragon with a common tool you might appreciate up them. The First Flame got moved 2+ times. When you get frostbite, your stamina recovery gets slower and you get damage from the proc. A lot of DS2 story things make it into DS3 and effects a lot if you're paying attention.
SO excited for 3! You're a blast to watch. Just a reminder that you need to attack or roll for secret walls in this one. It looked like you walked up to some like you thought they we're illusory, so just wanted to make sure you knew.
LETS GO PURE INT BUILD!! You can get an item pretty early on that will make whatever weapon you choose to use scale with intelligence. I used a pure intelligence build my first play through using the broadsword infused with the magic gem and sorceries. However my second play through was way more fun playing as a pyromancer. Pyromancie scales with intelligence and faith. I used the battle axe infused with the chaos gem and pyromancies.
Your enthusiasm is so communicative, what a joy to see you discover these (very habitable very cosy) lands ! Following this series is going to be a blast
Just a heads up, vitality is a new stat that determines you equip load. Also: If you want to do a melee/magic hybrid build, its normally best to pick two of the offensive stats to focus on. Examples being a Strength/Intelligence build, or Dexterity/Intelligence build. This helps you not waste any stat points. Normally for hybrid builds you want your weapon in the right hand and a catalyst (staff) in the left hand. Later on you will be able to add infusions to your weapons to make them scale better with different stats. Just make sure to pay attention to the stat screens of weapons and look at the letters to see how they scale with different stats.
Nah this isn't really correct. On an honest NG playthrough you are meant to pick one damage stat, if he wants magic he should do pure Int or Faith build and his melee options will still be fine. Maxing out 2 damage stats is inefficient and unnecessary. He can simply infuse any regular melee weapon with Int/Faith scaling, before he unlocks that base damage is more than fine. Splitting focus with str/dex past whats needed for requirements will simply make his spellcasting much weaker without any added damage benefit to his melee damage. Until you get to an extremely high level (130+), hybrid builds are a noob trap. My guess is he's going to do some type of hybrid build like you said, then complain why it feels weak, because he doesn't understand leveling/scaling fully.
@@yeahr1ghty I agree that focusing on one stat is the superior way to go, I was more recommending if he wants to go hybrid, keep it at two stats maximum, no more than that.
@Yeah Right I guess a better way to say what I meant is, to get minimum requirement for either the weapon or spell you want to use, then focus primarily on the other.
@@yeahr1ghty honestly it doesn’t matter on the first playthrough, they made the game easier and more accessible so even if you waste stats you still excel. This is why you can dodge 7 times from the start in a row, this only increases as you level up your stamina pool so you basically outscale enemies unless you intentionally throw away souls. In a regular casual playthough, you get more than enough souls and levels to just romp through the game. This is also why it is the most popular souls game because of the ease you can feel “badass” by dodging that hit or taking down that big enemy. Ds1 and DS2 are still kings in comparison to ds3 in many many aspects from lore to builds to pvp
Hey mate, soooo glad you made your way onto Dark Souls 3, he is my favorite of all the three, and it tells a lot 'cause god knows I love DS1 and 2 Here is my little advice for the beginning your playthrough: There is a mechanic you never used in the games (and often annoyed you when it happened), it's the kick. Your character use a kick when you make your character go forward and press the attack button in the same time This kick is used to break an enemy's guard and in order to make critical attack if the guard is broken It becomes really handy in Dark Souls 3, you already encountered Lothric's Knights for example, this boyos often hide behind their shields and the kick makes them very vulnerable Thanks for reading me and I wish you a nice journey through this marvelous game, and I will enjoy watching you doing so !
Super excited for this. Be careful about spreading yourself too thin in your stats. I know you want to try a bit of everything, but the game is just not built that way. At most, pick one or two main offense stats and focus on levelling those up to 40ish by endgame. If you want to try different builds, that's what NG+ and additional playthroughs are for! Good luck Ashen One!
the f-ing nostalgia in this video is crazy. i still remember my friends in school telling me to get this game so i said sure its probably a good game, but i would of never guessed that this game would be my favorite of all time and my most played with 1500+ hours of playtime.
Hey Mati, since you wanna explore magic a little bit, go for an int/ faith build, they are pretty good, can cast miracles and sorceries, mainly focusing in pyromancy and/or dark sorceries/miracles ( not necessarily only dark, there are catalysts that scale with both INT and FTH). You can infuse weapons that way they can scale with INT and FTH, so you have both options to deal damage. It's an above average build and pretty fun with all the options you have. You might wanna research about it. I highly recommend it. I can't wait for more of this playthrough.
I found your channel when you started Bloodborne. It's so cool seeing how far you've come with ignoring the turn back and one-trying that first challenge. That's the mark of a true Soulsborne player, and it was fun to see.
If I remember right they’re just there since the outside area loads a little slower than the inside of Firelink. It’s another “instance” or something like that.
I haven’t finished watching the entire Bloodborne saga but I had to peek in here real quick. This man is a legend for appropriating all that goes into these games. Music, scenery, storylines… all of it. Great content and amazing energy. I saw Demon souls is been uploaded so I have a lifetime of content 🤙🏾🔥
Now that you've started DS3 something you should know is that it has FOUR different endings compared to the previous two games. The first ending is easy to get, the next two require the firekeepers story quest, and the last requires following a very convoluted and long story quest that's very easy to mess up so its not a bad thing to miss it tbh.
im a year late but i started ds3 few weeks ago, i am a bit far in story than this but god does it feel good that every new player went through the struggles i did in this section, just not able to find path and whatnot. What a great channel i came across
*SOME STUFF YOU MISSED AND HELPFUL TIPS*: ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ You can kick enemies' shields away and then riposte them. 23:46 You missed the area to the left of Firelink. 42:53 You missed the area right in front of you, up the stairs to the left. (when you go up there, walk on the dragon. he's very crunchy.) 1:03:58 Forgot to free my mans after getting the key. 1:05:29 You can see two items you missed down on the left. 1:05:32 You can jump across to the other rooftop and get an item. 1:11:47 You can power through the fire (and other areas of denial like this) by spam rolling through it. You can also kill the dragon and get a bunch of goodies by shooting it enough with arrows and bolts. It is definitely worth it. 1:12:08 Regular chests have coiled up chains, while Mimics do not. Also, you can literally see them breathing, lol. 1:20:13 You keep going passed this area on your right, with the stairs. 1:24:17 You missed a chest down behind those barrels and crates. Roll through em'. 1:34:15 When running back to Vordt's boss room, you can jump down out the openings on your right there.
dude, relax. he doesnt have to grab every item in the game, half the ones in this starting area are garbage anyways. You’re just gona overwhelm him. The stuff you’re listing is totally unnecessary, you’re backseating.
It will be fun to relive this through you. This was my first Dark souls game in the trilogy, and I was hella confused. 😆 but watching it now, it makes more sense.
The music in firelink shrine can be changed in the future by giving a certian item to the firekeeper. The firekeeper also has reactions to gestures you do
You said Ludex Gundyr was better than most Dark Souls 2 bosses. Was it really though? Do you think you're going to remember it as good as The Last Giant or The Pursuer?
I can’t believe this is my first time seeing your acc, your play throughs are so easy and entertaining to watch! I’ll have to watch your bloodborne after these!
Compared to the other Souls games DS3 is my least favourite as it is the most linear one. However, if you like epic boss fights that feel great to fight then DS3 is the way to go.

Let's freaking go! 💯
For me it was Bloodbourne. After Bloodbourne Dark Souls 3. After this DS 1, Sekiro and DS2.😅
@@tobitroyer9429 interesting path! All great games ;)
@@zors5188 yes I know all over the place. 😅
It's funny how your first one is almost always your favorite, eh? I started with Bloodborne and six games later it's still #1 in my heart.
Elden Ring came really, really close, though, and I have zero doubt if I'd started there it'd be my favorite instead.
That "OMG this is Alfred!" got me really good 😂
“The fire fades, and some men just want to watch the world burn” - André, probably.
@@Metalton95 all I'm saying is I wanted to see Batman in Firelink Shrine too
At long last, comes the best one of the bunch. That intro theme tells you immediately how high quality the rest of the game is. So hyped for this.
Certified slapper!!!
Love the videos keep the grind going bubba
@@thursday9489time to get it!
@Mati if you are approaching the enemies fast enough you can kill them before they transform.
Absolutely loved your reaction to the main menu theme. Such a beautiful ost.
So hype then I see that 2 hour time stamp. Mati let’s goooooooooooo grats on this journey. You’re gonna LOVE ds3
Had to bless you guys and I also couldn't stop 😅 Appreciate you Seaweed!
You know what? I've been trying to find professionals reacting to the DS3 menu music and after hours of disappointment I have found you. This is hands down the *BEST* reaction on the internet to this epic musical theme! ..so I stayed and been watching your videos since. Love from the UK. ❤
I wish you the best success Mati! This game is incredible.
Thank you my man! It's gonna be a ride
Really hope this series does as well, or even better than Bloodborne. Your reactions are so genuine and the editing is fire as well. You definitely deserve at least 100k subs.
Yes for sure💪
Straight sword enjoyer so🎉
YES! Very excited. this will be my first time being able to watch episodes as they come out. I'll do my best to give spoiler free helpful tips.
Have fun!!!!
Appreciate that chief
The best kinda person! :)) Keep on keeping on!
I listen to FromSoft OSTs daily on my way to work and while I work. They are so majestic and real, i dont know the fact that it's an actual orchestra and choir makes the songs sooo much more intense.
I'm so hyped everytime you get hyped about the music aha
sup
LETS GOOOOO FINALLY
Been here since episode 1 of ds1 and plan to stay after this playthrough
Love to hear that my man I appreciate you!
About the random flask, you fill up a hidden gauge when you kill enemies and when it's full you get a flask.
Ha. 2 playthroughs and I didn't know that lol.
@@Dale-sj6ru Me neither! I always assumed it filled based on other players defeating the area boss like in DS1.
never knew that, just knew when it happened and it made me happy
Super hyped for you to play this one! I think you’ll fall in love with the bosses from this game
Already incredible 🤣
Such excite
Oh my god finally, my favourite Souls player playing my favourite Souls game!
Appreciate you being here brotha
So up for this! It’s such a good game. Hyped you’re finally playing this one! One of my favourites after bloodborne
1. You got the key for the NPC in the Cage, under the 2nd bonfire
Yes, gotta get the dude sprung from his cage!
1:24:16 roll through the barrels and drop down.
32:28 Man that sent me
Just, seeing Andre down the corridor, freeze and gasp.
"Bro is that Alfred?!"
Almost 2 hours flew by! I vote for longer episodes! 😊
This take my slice of cake for the best "Part 1" of any Fromsoft game played by any youtuber... This was so nostalgic and exciting to watch having seen all of your other playthroughs. Priceless reactions!
The Dark Souls 3 OST arguably has some of the best tracks in the trilogy, so nice to see Mati respond to it immediately 😊
This was my first souls game. I've yet to finish it, but the atmosphere has me coming back again and again. Love your playthroughs. Appreciate that you spend time to edit out the dead air. Have fun!
Welcome back Ashen One.
I am so happy man. And a 2 hour video. You just made my day. Thank you so much.
That's so sick!
@@ethanheadrick7027 thanks bro. Only thing I regret is not being apart of this community sooner lol. Saving Sekiro for last
@@dukers0578 best of luck! You got this! :D
Instant chills when that menu theme pulls up. They really went hard with the OST
The way you play these games is incredibly satisfying and fun to watch. You appreciate the little things about each area and you deserve so many more subs. I'm really excited for the rest of the series I'm gonna watch every episode!
Yes plz!! Longer episodes are always wanted.
Yes finally, very excited for this!
I still haven't played the dark souls series but it's been so incredibly fun to see the games through your perspective! When I was very young my favorite thing in the world was to watch my older brother play Zelda (N64) and watching your videos gives that same "this is the best" feeling
Been on this journey ever since you did Bloodborne. This is going to be an unforgettable experience Mati. Also the menu music is god tier!!!
This was my second game after my intro of Bloodborne. I'm so hype for Mati to play this too!!
Feels like forever ago bro thank you lots for being here
I had the EXACT SAME reaction when the menu music start, god I love that game
Your reaction to the OST was amazing. Glad when people can appreciate the music.
broooo finally an entertaining youtuber that does full play through of soul games 🙏🏽🔥 you’ve got my sub bro
Such a wholesome reaction to the start screen music 🤩🙏 instant fan!
Btw Ds3 takes place after the events of DS2 and ds1 but it takes place closer to lordran than it does to drangleic
Always nice to pop back to this some times just to see the reaction to the menu music :D And vordt OST
His reaction to the title menu music was the exact same as mine. Glad im not the only one captivated by it, literally shed a tear.
DS2 has its periodic ganks, and DS3 has its periodic enemies with nearly infinite stamina, like the knight you had trouble defeating after the dragon.
Pontiff knight full combo is unreal
The only time i see that as an problem, is the Corvian Knights in the Ariandel DLC, those bastards never stop attacking and are pretty tanky.
The music in this one slaps so hard. Glad you are enjoying it!
If you didnt know: the giant tree is actually from ds2 and the handmaid in firelinkshrine aswell
Your enthusiasm is so communicative, what a joy to see you discover these (very habitable very cosy) lands ! Following this series is going to be a blast
Just a heads up, vitality is a new stat that determines you equip load.
Also:
If you want to do a melee/magic hybrid build, its normally best to pick two of the offensive stats to focus on.
Oh yeah weapon scaling on infused weapons isn’t a thing in ds3 anymore.
Hey mate, soooo glad you made your way onto Dark Souls 3, he is my favorite of all the three, and it tells a lot 'cause god knows I love DS1 and 2
Here is my little advice for the beginning your playthrough:
There is a mechanic you never used in the games (and often annoyed you when it happened), it's the kick.
Your character use a kick when you make your character go forward and press the attack button in the same time
This kick is used to break an enemy's guard and in order to make critical attack if the guard is broken
It becomes really handy in Dark Souls 3, you already encountered Lothric's Knights for example, this boyos often hide behind their shields and the kick makes them very vulnerable
Thanks for reading me and I wish you a nice journey through this marvelous game, and I will enjoy watching you doing so !
THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN WAITINF FOR YES 😭
i almost have this game 100% on steam minus like 2 i love it sm
@@snoozysux What a G!!
Good ol blind playthroughs where you miss the bonfire and make your life unnecessarily hard hahah. Happens to the best of us
I found your channel when you started Bloodborne. It's so cool seeing how far you've come with ignoring the turn back and one-trying that first challenge. That's the mark of a true Soulsborne player, and it was fun to see.
He the only streamer who listen ds 3 main theme
Dude, pure joy to watch you enjoy DS3 for a first time and in the way how it should be enjoyed, with knowledge of all that was before. Thanks! :)
Fog gates in Firelink Shrine are normal. I have no idea why they appear, but they always disappear in a few minutes.
And when a certain item is given to the Firekeeper toward one of the alternate endings, the music in Firelink changes, becomes darker, richer.
im a year late but i started ds3 few weeks ago, i am a bit far in story than this but god does it feel good that every new player went through the struggles i did in this section, just not able to find path and whatnot. What a great channel i came across
*SOME STUFF YOU MISSED AND HELPFUL TIPS*:
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
You can kick enemies' shields away and then riposte them.
23:46 You missed the area to the left of Firelink.
42:53 You missed the area right in front of you, up the stairs to the left. (when you go up there, walk on the dragon. he's very crunchy.)
1:03:58 Forgot to free my mans after getting the key.
@amirmehr151 ohh yeah yeah, lol. I'll add that.
dude, relax. he doesnt have to grab every item in the game, half the ones in this starting area are garbage anyways. You’re just gona overwhelm him. The stuff you’re listing is totally unnecessary, you’re backseating.
@@Slothhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Just tryna get him to open his eyes more and know what's possible lol.
It will be fun to relive this through you. This was my first Dark souls game in the trilogy, and I was hella confused. 😆 but watching it now, it makes more sense.
The music in firelink shrine can be changed in the future by giving a certian item to the firekeeper. The firekeeper also has reactions to gestures you do
I absolutely love when the firelink music changes. I don't know that much about music technically, but I do wonder if it switches to a minor key.
So excited to see someone appreciating these games as much as they deserve. DS3 is my favorite fromsoft game.

ds3, the best souls game by far
I can’t believe this is my first time seeing your acc, your play throughs are so easy and entertaining to watch! I’ll have to watch your bloodborne after these!
Compared to the other Souls games DS3 is my least favourite as it is the most linear one. However, if you like epic boss fights that feel great to fight then DS3 is the way to go.
The area progression feels weirdly forced compared to 1 and 2. Bosses are overall better though, i agree.
