My back feels deeply thankful for that; I'm only in my early twenties, but have already gone through few painful episodes involving the spine. I really, really recommend it to everyone, just give it a try and see how much better you'll feel afterwards!
@@TPGummyH If you have lower back pain really work on that whole posterior chain, especially the hamstrings. I would recommend you to try taking up a physical activity you would want to do multiple times a week like bjj or boxing or something because staying active will keep those muscles loose

This guy knows what he’s talking about - his bullet proof knee routine worked like a charm for me years ago and now my legs are in tremendous shape. Definitely giving this one a go
Pro Tip: the closer your hands are together as you do the strech, is the harder it is to actually extend your arms. So if you have trouble doing it, just space out your hands more and then progressively bring them closer as you get better. Hope this helps.

You can even do more than that, a good stretch for the shoulders that saved me through a shoulder joint pain is grabbing the stick with both hands like that and rotating your arms all the way to the glutes, I didn't think it was possible either but it is, and it's damn useful

You have to spread your arms out. I can do it all the way until it hits my back. It gets easier once you go past the shoulder mark because that's the largest radius

Dislocated my shoulder 3 times this past year - doctors been telling me I need to keep my shoulder from being internally rotated all the time like he was demonstrating. Kind of worried to try this though
I've had my shoulder dislocated twice and operated on but I was told to do as much rotating and muscle work as possible, even had rehab sessions where it was done to me, with "exercise homework" for home to heal and strengthen the shoulder

I grabbed the longest golf club I have and It was very difficult and painful but my posture instantly looks so much better. Definitely going to keep doing it and progressing to a tighter grip. It’s called upper crossed syndrome. Stretch your pecs like this, then do some reverse fly with angled variations to strengthen your rhomboids and upper back to alleviate this issue. 🤙
My husband tried this. He didn’t get it pushed back very far. After seeing how far you got it, he had a good laugh and said he’d start doing more stretching.

It's the upper lats, rear neck muscles snd scalene muscles Get advice from a licensed massage therapist. I don't think this man has any knowledge more than layman's knowledge although he means well. Get a longer stick, the wider you grab it, the easiest it gets. If you cant hold it even this way, I'd suggest you'd start holding the stick over your head with your extended arms holding the stick with the widest grip you can get and then slowly start leaning the stick towards your back side, keeping your arms straight!
See a chiropractor, I had one hip higher than the other causing me to have one leg longer than the other, gamer slouched posture and now I'm all fixed and only spent £300 all in. Don't fuck around with an injured spine. I'm a brickie so I couldn't take the pain anymore and though my issues were permanent 💪

Yes you can ! Start with your arms far apart. They may need to be really far apart aft first. If you really can't follow the maneuver through seanlessly yet just wiggle your way incrementally till you can. If you stay in it ever day you'll see noticable improvements right away. If you're hurting, don't push the reps. Who am I kidding. It has to hurt somewhat but if you go slowly you'll come to distinguish between oK Workout Hurt and Holy Sht What Just Happened Hurt. It's a different ballgame after having shoulder surgery. I had 6 anchors put in my labrum, all the ligaments holding the arm in to the shoulder were torn and now I have tendonitis.
I knew this already but I kept my arms straight and pass them overhead instead. From the side you're doing a half circle and end up in the same position he does. Can be an easier variation if you don't have the flexibility yet
The problem with the circular overhead stretch is that you activate muscles that you're not really aiming for due to the full rotation. Starting at the back and doing a straight line backwards engages mainly the muscles that round your shoulders forward (Which is the chest muscles that lead into the shouder and the shoulder muscles that lead towards the chest). There's even tissue and muscles right underneath your collarbones that tighten aswell. Alot of these muscles do not get stretched if you do an overhead rotation, they do get stretched if you do a straight line. It 'is' however more beginner friendly, and helps stretches over parts of the core aswell and back musculature in a full round. You win some, you lose some. I just try to incorporate both.

Look into yoga and such too, general stretches are great for all muscles especially if you're above 30.

use an exercise band while pulling it reasonably tight, much easier to progress to a solid stick

It's not your back that's stiff, it is your chest that's tight. Don't do these. Work on learning about chest flexibility and rang of motion

I tested.. and think I came to a conclusion that it's even more beneficial to progressively increase the intensity... (I did that with these bands that are made out of gummy, the ones for physio therapy...)

It's a different ballgame after having shoulder surgery. I had 6 anchors put in my labrum, all the ligaments holding the arm in to the shoulder were torn and now I have tendonitis.

I knew this already but I kept my arms straight and pass them overhead instead.
From the side you're doing a half circle and end up in the same position he does.
Can be an easier variation if you don't have the flexibility yet
The problem with the circular overhead stretch is that you activate muscles that you're not really aiming for due to the full rotation. Starting at the back and doing a straight line backwards engages mainly the muscles that round your shoulders forward (Which is the chest muscles that lead into the shouder and the shoulder muscles that lead towards the chest). There's even tissue and muscles right underneath your collarbones that tighten aswell. Alot of these muscles do not get stretched if you do an overhead rotation, they do get stretched if you do a straight line.
It 'is' however more beginner friendly, and helps stretches over parts of the core aswell and back musculature in a full round. You win some, you lose some. I just try to incorporate both.
