Required listening every New Year's Eve. It always makes me cry and think about my wonderful a d supportive wife. Have a great year everybody! This one will be yours.
After seeing the commercial multiple times. I finally decided to identify the song now, and am pleasantly surprised to find it's The Zombies. In fact, I was just thinking of the 'Odyssey And Oracle" album this morning!
@@jocelynholdren391 Thank you for asking! I got married to the woman I listened to this song with on the first day of 2024, and we had a son. Of course, there were hard times, but 2024 was a really happy year for me. I hope your 2025 will be a miraculous year!
Same here. I've rewatched The Middle about 100 times. Finally decided to look this song up so I could learn how to play it. Now I don't know what instrument to go with lol. I think I'll still start with the Ukulele
I can't believe how good this guy's voice is/was. I'm not saying the rest isn't great, as is the song, but he really had a instantly unique and capable voice.
He did & it's wild how many melodies sung in his voice are , for me. It's like this band's whole catalog are traditional folk songs for me & I'm only just finding out, over & over, that all these songs are done by the same band.
@@mikemaniam3066 Close. The horns were recorded and dubbed directly into the mono mix. This became a problem when CBS refused to release the album unless it was in stereo. The stereo mix was a rush job and they couldn't salvage the horns from the mono tapes.
I finished watching Decameron on Netflix and at the end of the last episode this wonderful song plays. For me there would be no better song to convey the characters' sense of hope. ❤
The Zombies are one of the most underrated bands of all time, as well as one of the most Unique and Ahead of Their Time Bands since the invention of electric instruments. If you are new to The Zombies, check out "She's Not There," and "The Time of the Season."
Just saw The Zombies play Odessey and Oracle in it's entirety and it was extremely well done, super special. I love their music, and especially this song.
“Just wanted one last look.” Now that's what I call a perfect ending. Schitt's Creek will continue to haunt me for the next 50 years with Dr. Clara Mandrake's cawing.
I heard this song for the first time when I was a kid it reminds me of bottles of juice. When I was in my 50s it played at the flower show when I won best tulips.
*THE MARVELLOUS MRS.Maisel* this song is just like Me and My bf.. cause our relationship starts from the beginning of this year... 😅💕 thanks Mrs.Maisel... And The Zombies💐 I hope this year will be our year☺️😊😌🥰
I think you should go look at any 60's soft rock song, and realize when you say "it sounds like the beatles" what you should actually say is "this sounds like a song from the late 60's"
When I saw that Kohl's ad I just had to google the ad, curious about a Beatles song that I had never herd before. No mistaking the Beatles influence here.
Hey Zombies, can I please use this song for a video? It's like an ai cover of a character named Alastor from Hazbin hotel and I spent forever making it. I love this song so much❤
heard this song on the last episode of the second season of the marvelous mrs maisel. im gonna let my fiance listen to this song when it hits 12am on the 31st.
❤ me too all of us are just one big, happy family, but we’re all still broken in some sort of kind of way like a big bag of nuts. Some really salty some really sweet. Some of them are so knucklehead. They’re like a woman that you have to crack the shell to get the good part inside the walnut.

Thanks, Kohl’s.. my new fav song.
Yes! (and I'm old enough to have heard it when it came out...) This old dog is always open for a few new tricks.

I love when commercials get me hooked on new and old songs I may never knew about!
Holy shit hahahah same
One of the finest songs ever from one of the finest bands ever.
Couldn't agree more. First heard it in a TV commercial a bit over a year ago, and fell in love. That's how I found the Zombies.
Thanks, Mrs. Maisel!!
Mad Men had this played in the show as well and at the end of a great scene.
One of the gems of the 60s. The entire album is beautiful. Not a dud track. Each song has its own beauty.
I could skip Butcher's Tale, but otherwise, it's immaculate 🤓
Bennington just brought me here. Thank you Ron.
Absolutely love this album.
One of the best albums ever.
@DustinBeckMusic easy every song beautiful
Love how this is called "Lyric Video" with only one sentence on repeat. 10/10 no notes.
Happy new year!
And I hope this will be our year guys.
- on the first day of 2024
how was the year, genuinely?

Proud to say My aunts and uncles in the 90’s, and not a TV show or advertisement, brought me here…beautiful, timeless music 😊😌
Happy New Year~🎉
Here from The Middle. :) Now I love this song.

I've shed some tears watching the Middle's episodes for the first time. I just love it❤
It was so sad seeing them grow up and move on as their parents had to accept the fact that their kids aren’t kids anymore. 😢

I love the added instruments in this version! Makes it sound much fuller

I know, right? I love “I want to fly”, I really recommend it! Oh, and “A rose for Emily” is too a really great song!
This will be our year every year, Mrs.Maisel!!

Schitt's Creek will continue to haunt me for the next 50 years with Dr. Clara Mandrake's cawing.
40 years of personal memories in this song! Wish I could remember the name of the person who first turned me on to this album! My fave ever since!!
What a perfect song for a perfect new year.
Life…this will be our year - took a long time to come - unexpected - finally - once in a lifetime love
Just heard this at the end of the episode I was watching in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. How have I never heard this song before?! I love it!
That's funny. I just heard it in the last episode of Schitts Creek 🤣
@@l.hogarth2135 I totally missed it in Schitt's Creek. 😂 I guess I'll have to watch that again.

my favourite new year song :)
Happy New Year! One of my resolutions - and this may be a bit selfish- is to get an original mono copy of this album.
Another Chris White gem, so buoyant so bouncy and so inspirational all in one!
Love this song & album! Finally to be in the RRHOF! Definitely their year!
Yes! They deserve it.

This is a perfect pop song. Love it.
"Took *a long* time to come."
Typo aside, this is a lovely video.
I've loved this song for years but it's never resonated with me as this moment in my life. Can't exactly even i needed it.
First time hearing this song or band!!!! Reminds me of Nilsson mixed up with Queen strangely! Love it!
Nilsson and Queen is pretty spot on. I realized recently how much piano Queen uses and Nilsson of course. I love keyboard driven songs.
Dios esta banda que deliciosos ritmos musicales para mi una de las mejores bandas de la historia.
Toda la razón, pero te faltó botar tu GAAAAAAAAAA
Wow I really love this ❤️

This is stunning. I feel like "along" should be "a long" though
You are correct. The person who made the video probably isn't a native English speaker.
“A long” should be two words, not “along”. The meaning changes considerably!
Who else is here from the middle😂
Me too! I cry every time I see Brick and Troy sing this, and it's now my new fav song lol😂
